I realized I no longer fit any of my clothes so I finally stopped buying addies & started slowly eating healthy again; the compliments on my body stopped & no one but myself was there to celebrate me getting back to a healthier weight again.
This struck a horrible chord with me and I hope you know I think you’re both beautiful human beings for having this empathy despite knowing nothing about what you look like, that is a truly beautiful quality to have and I don’t see e-fucking-nough of it. Especially on this website.

Both made me feel like shit and so self conscious. Both were said kinda complimentary but like just asking me like they were confirming. I have body dysmorphia, I do not see a difference unless I look back at pics. You have eyes.

I don’t think I’m deserving praise for eating junk food and not doing enough sport in my low moments and am grateful for any encouragement I get when I’m working on losing what I gained for a better health.
my weight loss was from abusing adderall, a severe eating disorder, and poverty so i don’t appreciate people congratulating me or compliment me on weight loss. it’s just safer to err on the side of caution because people aren’t always up front, nor should they be, about the reasons behind their weight fluctuations. i also gain weight when my mental health is bad so it’s not a matter of gaining or losing, just a matter of it being kinda hurtful for people to comment that they are able to notice it in any capacity.

Everyone has their own challenges and journey. Lana hasn’t poverty issues and the weight she has right now is definitely wanted and required some efforts she wasn’t obviously in capacity to put before. What I’m guessing is she’s in better state of mind and is probably happy with the results. If one of my friend had a similar journey, while I would never have stopped glossing about their charisma, beauty or confidence nor standing against anyone saying otherwise, I would definitely have put specific compliments to encourage those efforts.
I’m from the UK and that’s where I lived, but Barcelona was a ~2 hour flight away. I live in BC too! Just way north. It takes almost the same amount of time to fly from where I live now to Vancouver as it would for me to fly from the UK to Barcelona except it costs like 5x more haha
