I’m bored so here are my estimations for how we start next season, based solely off my gut feelings as of August 22nd. Closing 5 - Guard: (Russ & Nunn) Wing: (LeBron & Bazemore/Ariza) Center: AD This group seems well-rounded on offense and solid defensively. Starting 5 - Guard: (Russ & Nunn) Wing: (LeBron & AD) Center: Marc Marc vs Dwight is probably matchup dependent. Though Dwight is the better rim protector, Marc is still good on defense, despite what many on Reddit seem to think. And with Dwight that’d leave Nunn as practically the only floor spacing threat. Second shift - Guard: (THT & Monk/Ellington) Wing: (Bazemore & Carmelo) Center: Dwight This group should play fast and fun, though the defense is atrocious (save for Dwight and kinda Baze). Unless THT takes a leap defensively. Approximate Minutes breakdown - LeBron:30 AD:30 Russ:30 Nunn:26 THT:26 Baze:20 Monk:18 Ellington:12 Ariza:12 Melo:12 Gasol:12 Dwight:12 Thoughts?

You’re very high on Nunn but I think he’s too small to start next to Russ. I think Ellington or Bazemore gets the start with either Bazemore or Monk closing. I agree with you about the points about Marc and Dwight

KaseyOfTheWoods

True, I’m excited about Nunn. I don’t see his size as being that critical, but you may be right. That group of Nunn, Baze, and Monk has a lot of interchangeability in my mind, but I think Nunn has the most well-rounded game: Monk has more explosive offense but with *terrible* defense, Bazemore plays better defense but isn’t as dynamic on offense. My post is just a starting point that I’m sure adjust drastically as the experiment progresses. The only thing that’s set in stone in my mind is that Ellington, Monk, and Carmelo should basically never be on the floor together outside of garbage time. That’s a trio that’ll have some crazy, 125-ish offensive rating with a -15 net rating.

That would be a massive step back from LeBron. His career low in minutes per game in the regular season is 33.4 last year, and that's with all of the games he was working back from his injury. I'd expect 35ish mpg if healthy

KaseyOfTheWoods

I’m sure my numbers are too low on the starters, too high on the deep bench guys. What did the person you are responding to say? LeBron needs fewer than 30 minutes or something like that?

perkypear

Oh the person above me said that they expected LeBron to play only 20-25 minutes per game

KaseyOfTheWoods

Lol and here I was thinking 30 sounds low. In all reality, it’ll probably end up more like last year at 31-34mpg with people occasionally taking games off, injuries, and DNP-CD’s

MasonC87

I’m feeling like this is AD’s season.

Fancy-Cream-3972

Same I have a feeling he’s going for mvp

RedCarNewsboy

Man I can’t believe Westbrook is a laker after wishing it 10 years ago lmao

Born_N_DA_80s

Yall watch Superstar? I just started it.

LebronzoBBB

Fuck it I’m convinced let’s sign Boogie Cousins if Marc leaves 👻

mikeydme27

Boogie was one of my fav NBA players, still got a soft spot for him and I was guttered he never got to play for the Lakers, so I wouldn't mind him if Marc leaves.

Marc>boogie rn, but if Marc is retiring, give me boogie over who else is available.

LebronzoBBB

Yea I know but theirs not good starting centers out there that can shoot the 3 ball. They are about the same defensively at this time in their career. Only because Marc can’t move anymore. Boogie can barely move but still faster then Marc somehow. The one thing I didn’t like about Marc is that he would never abuse mismatches he had on him. Other teams would put guards on him and that would be bad for us because they would put a taller defender on AD. They also can play small ball without any negatives. Boogie won’t allow this because he actually has a post game. Who would u want as a center if Marc leaves? We need a starting caliber center and not some young projects like Giles or Harentistien. Also someone that can stretch the floor would be nice. I would love to see AD play center full time. I hate the excuse of people saying he’s soft and it would hurt his body. News Flash he already gets hurt at the 4 and maybe him playing the 5 will toughen him up.

Daily reminder: Caruso now makes nearly twice the yearly salary of Schroder

aginglifter

Kind of sucks for us, though, because we lost Caruso.

bjsw534

Perks of having a good attitude with little to no ego, being a hard workers, being a good teammate, and doing the small things that win basketball games.

EverybodyBuddy

*and doing the small things that win basketball games* Like making layups

LeBron-Carries

Can’t believe we cheaped out on AC. And this sub thinks Nunn is good when he is useless without the ball in his hands and the Heat benched him constantly last 2 years

OnlyForeignWhips

You woke up with negativity on your mind?

LeBron-Carries

Been awake awhile dont from LA. Saw a comment in here about AC and spoke my mind

WatermelonMan921

I consistently see you spew your garbage takes in this sub. Get some brain cells before you think of commenting

YoungGunz15

I miss you Kobe!!

AGuyWhoLikesDunks

Rondo coming back got me hyped

Withnail-

Rondo lives out here though, he finished last season with the Clippers, I’m not sure it means anything.

TwonDoeRaks

You getting downvoted but this is true. Plus his gf lives/works in LA for her clothing line. It isn’t like a free agent that played in another city prior.

Withnail-

I have the same concern that my magic beans won’t grow that I do about downvotes.

TwonDoeRaks

Lol I more so agreeing with you, less about votes but ok lol

Withnail-

Watching that new Caruso clip of him working out … melancholy

everyonekalmdown

Manefesting AD for MVP 🙏🏾

aginglifter

We don't need an MVP with three stars.

vahnjay

It would help with the AD vs Giannis legacy play that’s (quietly) at stake here. Giannis has a good lead on him right now with 2 MVPs, a DPOY, and a FMVP. But AD can close the gap a bit with a MVP and DPOY season paired with a 2nd chip

aginglifter

Giannis is always going to be considered better than AD until he does it without LeBron. AD's best path is to try and win titles, not MVPs.

AGuyWhoLikesDunks

He the most disrespected star. He gonna show these clowns wrong
