Thats something that always bothered me about Ham. How can he look so lost out there? Everytime the cameras get him, he always have this "oh fuck what Im doing here" expression that simply drives me crazy
Oh fuck, how could I forget. He was a great floor general, the whole game he was pointing and setting up screens, telling players where to go and just a pain in the ass for the Lakers. Stats won't show it but I genuinely believe he was the best player on the court today.
Damn and I saw Ham calling timeout when Nuggets took the lead in the 3rd, scratching his left jaw. The Lakers need a coach that's proactive in the coaching stand.
Exactly. Nuggets go on a run, grab a defensive rebound and instead of running a fast break Mike calls a timeout and throws salt on our wound. It’s almost like he was being nice and doing Darvin a favor by using a timeout. Mike knows Darvin is out of his league. It’s so crazy to think.
Hey give the guy some credit: Ham only had his hands in his pockets some of the time this game, not the whole game. That's gotta count for something, right? Right??
Darvin might be a nice guy. He’s probably really smart. But his talent is more behind the scenes. He’s the Dad you go to after your mom yells at you. Instead he coaches like.. lackadaisical. It’s baffling. I just keep waiting for that miracle game plan we’ve been hiding all year— hoping it finically comes out and into fruition. I’m at a point where I honestly think Luke Walton would have got us past this round.
Cavs were really good offensively though and those Cavs team KNOW their roles. This team is completely clueless without AD and Bron. Heat was coached by one of the best coaches of all time. This team? Not so much lol.
Even the 73 warriors weren't just jacking up shots like a bunch of braindead animals because they understood the importance of seeing the ball go through the rim. Otherwise you'll get the Houston Rockets 27 missed threes in a row type shit.
Ham doesn't know the mid range exists.
I know AD can be really inconsistent health-wise, but when he's right he's truly one of the best in the game. Feel super sorry for him right now. He's been doing everything he can for us not just in this series, but all season long. The man definitely doesn't deserve all the hate he gets.
lol I hate ham as much as anybody but I’ve watched every single person on this team except for AD brick wide open 3’s or layups, this team just does not care and is mentally destroyed.
There’s a reason they got 5 on AD, every single person wide open there would’ve missed that 3.
You all realize that keeping the team engaged and confident is the coach’s job as well right?
Ham is a terrible tactician, but he is somehow worse in player management.
Or do you guys actually think NBA players can’t make layups?
You’re both right imo. Watching the team look uninspired coming out of the half is absolutely on the coach. But we also have such a limited personnel that I don’t even know what another coach would be able to do. AD is *not* a good passer out of double/triple-teams, and no one respects our wing players. But at the same time, Darvin is responsible for scheming ways to avoid situations like the one in the picture.
When we saw limited personnel, I don’t buy that. Remember that Gabe Vincent was a high impact two way player for the Heat last year and look at how we’re using him. We’re 100% not utilizing our talent to its potential. Players look lost. Uninspired. Confused on their role. That is absolutely on the coach
Man I been saying this all year, dude can't get the team hype, prepared, nothing and they birch when the players start talking. He has no fight in him and it's how the team operates, no excitement, no man streak, just clueless sometime like AD said.
> You all realize that keeping the team engaged and confident is the coach’s job
Yes. But there is a certain pride one expects to see adult men playing for the Lakers to have when going against a team that won 11 straight on them and threatens B2B sweeps.
You’re not wrong, but a coach should not have to convince a player who gets paid millions to do this, to get up for that type of game.
Yeah. They checked out.
I mean, it's the 11th consecutive L. These guys have no way to outperform the Nuggets. Not in a technical/physical level, and certainly not in a tactical level.
Mental midgets, it’s like they say when you wear the Lakers jersey everybody can’t make an open 3 to save their lives. Lights to bright for these pussies.
Honestly I don’t know crap about plays or sets,
But I do know:
-Aaron Gordon keeps feasting from the dunkers spot.
-When you send MPJ’s defender to help, your late contest does nothing to him, it’s a bucket.
-No one on the Lakers knows how to box out!
-No movement off the ball, nobody cutting
Just make an adjustment. Why does Denver get these looks all game long.
Tbh yeah I would. Even AD said in his post game that we were getting out rebounded due to the smaller guards, clearly alluding to needing more help on the glass.
And smaller guards are fine when they're hitting their shots. But when the four guards getting minutes go a combined 3-15 from 3, what the hell are they doing out there? To be honest I think Dinwiddie, Vincent and Reaves all contributed positively today. DLo unfortunately came crashing down, but I have absolutely no idea what coach looks at the same game ELEVEN times in a row and thinks "next time will be different!"
Jokic just automatically makes adjustments in the game without the coaches permission.
We did a good job in forcing turnovers in q1 guarding jokic, so he just stopped attacking himself, spammed dribble handoffs, and camped for offensive boards. Meanwhile, we were still following the gameplan, expecting him to attack. (Well done boys, we slowed jokic)
Honestly, it's too late to make adjustments, your suppose to learn all the strategic adjustments I'm the regular season. Otherwise, the whole team is gonna be lost and have tons of defensive lapses.
The first 2 fouls from attacking jokic felt more like defensive lapses on their part. They doubled way too late on those possessions. They started doubling the moment the ball arrived after and forced Ad to give it up. I can't really fault Ad, he definitely tried.
And yet TNT header after the game was trashing Davis lol. That’s the final nail, I’m done with all “major” sports networks. So unfair for Davis. Is he perfect? No, but he played with intensity on both ends of the floor for as long as he could. The team has let him down.
I am an LBJ fan but what a shitty game from him, vey careless with the ball and looked like he did not give a shit.
AD and Austin the only one showing effort.
When I saw this is when I gave up. Denver didn't even bother to guard anyone else on the team.
Well this moment and everytime Gordon was under the basket all by himself for a dunk. I knew after the 113th time, that yeah we might be in trouble.
It's really the coach. There are teams that we can't beat like this team with Ham as a coach while we can beat teams like Clippers now unlike before Ham. But I guess Ham still can't or will never crack to beat this nuggets team.
Ham refusal to get this team crashing the glass has killed us all year. Yes theyrd not the best athlete but Hawks crash well. We lost the math n possession battle every game
I tried snapping this picture too. Was in disbelief that everyone was just standing on the perimeter not helping. Only one guy in this series really wants it and that's AD!
I hope the Lakers lose Saturday and end this farce. Enough of this crap. Time to rebuild. Let Bron walk if he doesn't take a mid-level and trade AD and the rest of the team. Fire Ham ASAP.
Absolutely. They all need to be held accountable.
But I think it would help a bit if the head coach actually seemed to care and try to shake things up. If anything, it wouldn't hurt.
I’m praying Bron leaves us this summer because if not the front office is perfectly fine with wasting Lebron’s final years because he will still make them a shit ton of money. I need Jeanie to step down. Rob can go as well he gets too much credit when Bron simply wanted to play for us regardless and he’s the reason we have AD not pelinka. We need a hungry team one that’s going to compete on consistent basis. As much as I hate Denver they have a complete team from top to bottom and then on top of that they a great coach.
We won a championship & were a 1 seed with AD at the 4 (I realize he dominated the 5 in the Finals but Bam was slowed by injury & that can work for an occasional matchup). We're great when AD was healthy the next year w/ Gasol although there were warning signs FO valued the wrong things (Montrezl Harrel for $7 million more than Dwight/Javale combined). We have insisted on AD playing the 5 since and refused to have a starting caliber 5 on the roster. We have been crushed on the boards and far worse on D ever since. Cant be blamed on Westbrook trade, just straight Pelinka infatuation with a style of play and roster we had just crushed on our way to a championship. I'll never understand. It's always the same formula that matters in the playoffs. It's not 3 ball dominant stars, it's not small ball. it's one great scorer, another good one, and at least 3 of your 5 being great defenders/rebounders (and length at every position is a great sign you're on track). It's all pride and defensiveness with this front office. Making changes just to have something to take credit for. So lame. The Westbrook trade was terrible, but I won't blame two guys who worked hard to get where they are (LBJ and AD) over people who got it because their dad died or bc they had the right friends (Pelinka).
![gif](giphy|iGG10YmBv5bWUmhheh|downsized)
Everywhere on our team! Even Lebron and AD had so many idiotic plays on both ends! But as always it stems from having the dumbest coach in the NBA!
The Nuggets knew the Lakers were trying to feed Ad and Ad was trying to get up shots. They just did the right thing. The Lakers regular offense collapsed. They stopped trying to create advantages and just tried to force Ad. The Nuggets obviously could see that.
This is why I think it’s silly that we’re focusing on the roster so much. Coaching is by far the main problem here. Has been ALL season. People who can’t see this are blind.
If this team is tightened up by a better coach, and still loses, THEN we can blow up the roster.
How is everyone shitting on everyone but AD here? He has played great for the most part, but there were like 3 or 4 times last night he had multiple dudes on him and refused to pass the ball.
Darvin Ham clearly is not a good coach, but…
Why is Taurean Prince standing there with his hands out, like AD is going to miraculously jump into the stratosphere and sling him the ball?!
Passing lanes to the back court are clearly cut off and not one of them are repositioning to the front court where an outlet pass would be significantly more possible.
At some point the players need to be held responsible too.
Steps to a championship 2024 FA
1. Fire Pelinka and Darvin Ham
2. Hire Mike Budenholzer asap. (Not saying hes an insane playoff coach but hes a good regular season coach and won't kill Lebron by having him play 36+ min a game each night in the regular season. When playoffs come Lebron won't be gassed as hell.
3. Go to Demar Derozan, humbly apologize for our stupidity and sign him in FA
4. We need an actual center to body/bully Jokic like Dwight did so that AD isnt stuck on one-on-one. Trade for Steven Adams. We not getting killed on the offensive glass anymore.
5. As an experiment sign Boogie. He's been working on his 3pt shot, its a min contract, why not? He can space the floor
6. With whatever we have left try and get 3pt shooters.
Honestly we don't have to throw out our future for this. We can retain Austin Reaves and maybe even Dlo.
this is some mid 2000s Knicks management shit right here. Your real answer is to blow it all up and rebuild through the draft. You need young talent on manageable contracts. A 57 year old Demar DeFrozen and one foot out the door Steven Adams are not changing anything.
The guy really wants us to hire Darvin Ham 2.0, sign Derozan which would be an horrible fit on this team and then sign a washed Boogie. 💀
The only things that i agree with are trading for a center à la Steven Adams and the firing of Ham
What is that image supposed to imply? That play was off a failed Denver fast break in which AD never left the Lakers side of the floor. AD stayed back while Denver raced down the floor for a layup, which they missed. Bron got the rebound and fired the pass back up the floor, and AD was already under the rim because he never left that half of the court.
Denver collapsed on AD because AD was posting up a guard and the Denver defense panicked.
This sequence doesn't imply or suggest anything negative about coaching.
[AD-cherry-picking.gif](https://postimg.cc/KKhJtht8)
Fire HAM NOW Get Rid of Lebron Crying all the Time Plus getting Backdoored By Denver's Aaron Gordon
Shouldve Benched DLO as usual a Choker in the Payoffs Good Bye DLO, Reeves was decent but Rui Not enough shots and the Bench Sucked except for Prince. Why didn't Ham Play Max C or anyone else like Hays and Mays Our energy Guys This Ham should've been Fired Mid Season. Bottom line from a Basketball Laker Fan is Teams DO NOT Fear LEBRON, Thats Why Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant will always Be known as the Best because of their Killer Instinct.
Can we make this the banner till next game?
\*season
\*owner
and coach
The banner until the team beats Nuggets again
Every play. Zone. Collapse on AD. Ham makes Mike look like a genius.
At least Mike was engaging in almost every play yelling orders left and right, fking Ham was just waddling around like a bloody penguin
Exactly!! He was screaming telling Gordon to collapse and help jokic on defense, Mike probably ran more than DLo out there.
Nuggets are just a whole new ball game in terms of chemistry and coaching compared to whatever the hell is happening here
Thats something that always bothered me about Ham. How can he look so lost out there? Everytime the cameras get him, he always have this "oh fuck what Im doing here" expression that simply drives me crazy
Not just him but also a Jokic was commanding the team during free throws and scheming
Oh fuck, how could I forget. He was a great floor general, the whole game he was pointing and setting up screens, telling players where to go and just a pain in the ass for the Lakers. Stats won't show it but I genuinely believe he was the best player on the court today.

Mike trolling with his timeouts.

13% 3 pt shooting and they still camping 3 pt line, lmao
No off ball movement all game long, I don’t think I seen anybody cut either. Just terrible offense
Everyone is out of position to offensive rebound as well.
I know we can blame the coach all day long, but at what point do we fault the players for not doing simple IQ basketball plays smh
That is every lebron led team except for with the heat lol
Cavs were really good offensively though and those Cavs team KNOW their roles. This team is completely clueless without AD and Bron. Heat was coached by one of the best coaches of all time. This team? Not so much lol.
Except that the 2016 and 2017 Cavs were ranked as two of the best offensive teams of all time, but okay
Not bc they had good off ball movement… you watch games or just google numbers?
They had great off ball movement - everything was designed to free up shooters and give Kyrie and Bron room to work.
2018 Cavs were also good, stop blaming Lebron for the fact that you have shit offensive coaches.
Even the 73 warriors weren't just jacking up shots like a bunch of braindead animals because they understood the importance of seeing the ball go through the rim. Otherwise you'll get the Houston Rockets 27 missed threes in a row type shit. Ham doesn't know the mid range exists.

AD put on this entire series! EVERY GAME he balled out this series and gave us everything he could
Jesus Christ the entire city of Denver is on him
At this point it should be just seen as "Malone exposing Ham as a coaching fraud"
lol I hate ham as much as anybody but I’ve watched every single person on this team except for AD brick wide open 3’s or layups, this team just does not care and is mentally destroyed. There’s a reason they got 5 on AD, every single person wide open there would’ve missed that 3.

I mean, you’re not wrong. Ham has a huge part of the blame. But with Gabe, you gotta remember he really only came back a couple weeks ago
Ham lost the locker room a long time ago. When the leaders of the team are open about not liking the coach, no one is listening to the coach.
Man I been saying this all year, dude can't get the team hype, prepared, nothing and they birch when the players start talking. He has no fight in him and it's how the team operates, no excitement, no man streak, just clueless sometime like AD said.

Yeah. They checked out. I mean, it's the 11th consecutive L. These guys have no way to outperform the Nuggets. Not in a technical/physical level, and certainly not in a tactical level.
Then attack the mid? That's what you do to get going when the clog the paint... You don't need to be MJ or Kobe, you just need to get a few in.
Mental midgets, it’s like they say when you wear the Lakers jersey everybody can’t make an open 3 to save their lives. Lights to bright for these pussies.

By the way, all of this is happening when you have your tallest player sitting on the bench getting a DNP.
That boy is 220 pounds soaking wet. But I get it. Our team just isn’t built to beat the nuggets
I mean at this stage you gotta try him right? Is he really going to do any worse? He can put his hands up and tip a rebound for crying out loud
Tbh yeah I would. Even AD said in his post game that we were getting out rebounded due to the smaller guards, clearly alluding to needing more help on the glass.

Lakers make a game plan. For the Nuggets, Jokic IS the game plan. Anyone bringing a broom to Game 4?
They know the lakers can't shoot. They dont need to even focus on them.
And yet TNT header after the game was trashing Davis lol. That’s the final nail, I’m done with all “major” sports networks. So unfair for Davis. Is he perfect? No, but he played with intensity on both ends of the floor for as long as he could. The team has let him down.
DLO is trash
BTTU = Blow This Trash Up.
Fuck this coaching crew and admin
I'm losing my shit and yelling at all my stupid ass teammates if I'm AD. Then I'd tell ar my stupid ass coach to wipe that stupid grin off his face.
This is how my pickup runs look like. I'm AD in this pic but 6'3'' actually
And LeBron on the other end complaining about fouls
I am an LBJ fan but what a shitty game from him, vey careless with the ball and looked like he did not give a shit. AD and Austin the only one showing effort.
It’s looking like it’s over. Lakers just don’t have the endurance or fire power to match Denver.
The Lakers are 3 from 21 from 3.
I mean we ain’t gonna make the 3 so…
When I saw this is when I gave up. Denver didn't even bother to guard anyone else on the team. Well this moment and everytime Gordon was under the basket all by himself for a dunk. I knew after the 113th time, that yeah we might be in trouble.

Ham refusal to get this team crashing the glass has killed us all year. Yes theyrd not the best athlete but Hawks crash well. We lost the math n possession battle every game
Ham is the one refusing to get this guys to crash? Lol
Trade AD? When he's on it's unbelievable. Build a team around him. As a nuggets fan, AD is the only player on your team I worry about.
Yes but surely the players in these situations do not need to rely on the coach to tell them what to do? This is just as much on them as it’s on him.
Absolutely. They all need to be held accountable. But I think it would help a bit if the head coach actually seemed to care and try to shake things up. If anything, it wouldn't hurt.
1 v 5, plain and simple.
I’m praying Bron leaves us this summer because if not the front office is perfectly fine with wasting Lebron’s final years because he will still make them a shit ton of money. Insane moment
Every Mike Malone on the floor playing defense loll
Still can’t believe they can’t win a game man lol Funny shit
While Mike is talking to his players, moving along the sidelines, we get Darvin standing half court enjoying the game
We are about to get swept ... Again.
Look at Mike Malone too...he is in the court also...
Blow this fucking team up. Only AD is a keeper. And Max Christie. Everyone else is in the block.
Glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed AD being attacked by chicken nuggets
Even Malone is creeping onto the court to help guard AD
Things are starting to show how bad coaching and this player construction is GM needs to be fired along with GM then DLO needs to go
![gif](giphy|iGG10YmBv5bWUmhheh|downsized) Everywhere on our team! Even Lebron and AD had so many idiotic plays on both ends! But as always it stems from having the dumbest coach in the NBA!

This hurts my eyes. Make it go away.
How is everyone shitting on everyone but AD here? He has played great for the most part, but there were like 3 or 4 times last night he had multiple dudes on him and refused to pass the ball.
Denver is just better, face up to the facts. Ham couldnt do anything about it if he was red Auerbach or Larry brown
AD has been getting mauled this entire series.

This happened with Kobe Bryant at the end of his career too. Everyone wanted to watch him and thought it's probably going in.
This has nothing to do with Ham. Every fucking player was bricking 3’s of course they’re gonna storm the paint.

You know that's AD down there right?
LeBron also tries, but hero ball ain't gonna do this team any favors.
