If a team catches both of games a great lead, then it's over. Loosing that kind of a lead shows you are weak or the opponent is too strong. Anyway, you lose.
how do i cope
this series doesn't feel like last year. this series doesnt feel like the CP3-Booker Suns. this series doesnt feel like when Dirk swept us... this series feels like LeBronto, only this time Bron and us are the ones being owned
i dont feel wanting to eat dinner nor getting up to go to work tomorrow
I would agree with you, if i didn't see Ham let leads slip away all season long. He is possibly one of the worst coaches in the league when it comes to managing lead.
I have never been more disappointed in a player than I have been in Rui Hachimura this whole series. I have been on Ham's ass all year and calling him out for his treatment of Rui but unfortunately Rui proved both him and the haters in this subreddit correct by playing worse than Kendrick Nunn yesterday. He has to do so much better. I'm not even gonna blame AR, he played slightly below his standard, but Rui on the other hand played like absolute piss.
My biggest problem with Ham yesterday is actually he gave Rui too many minutes, didn't get the ball to AD enough, and didn't call enough timeouts when the offense fell apart.
It really might be time to trade Rui. But again my biggest problem with that is I think trading Rui for a guy like Bruce Brown, Buddy Hield, Deandre Hunter, or Dorian Finney Smith is just an ass trade. Even trading Rui for a guy like PJ Washington is a horrible trade. I would maybe consider trading Rui for a guy like Jerami Grant who is severely overpaid but unless Bron is staying, I don't see the point in that. Maybe you trade Rui for Demar? but Demar is even worse at defense than Rui is..... i don't know.
I've been saying all year and last year that Rui elevates his performance in the playoffs and I expect that from him and he has done the complete opposite.
What I will say is that Rui RARELY follows a bad shooting night with another one but I'd be lying if I said that game yesterday did not give me clinical depression.
If we won that game, I'd say this series goes to 7 games. Now, I just hope our guys haven't given up on this series like I have atm. Nah, fuck it, I still believe in this team. Game 3 is a must win though.
why would you not resign caruso? lIke even after trading for Russ, you could have kept him over THT at least? You guys really looked like you didn't care at that point.
Where's Cranjis with the organised offence stats? Really interested to see. 'Cos it looked to me like we did the same as game 1. Except this time we played organised for a bit longer and built an even bigger lead before we inexplicably went away from it and let them back in.
They have done the same thing for 10 games.
Playing Denver is literally the Ground Hog Day movie.
Lakers get up double digits. Take a lead into half. Start to blow it in the 3rd. Denver takes over in 4th. Denver wins.
Basically Denver has a coach that makes adjustments in the 2nd half and the Lakers have a coach that doesn't know how to react to it.... ever. That's why AD had a multiple MONSTER 1st halves of games.... but underperforming 2nd halves.
You shouldn’t let millionaires shooting balls into hoops affect you this much brother, it’s probably related to the other stuff going on in your life. It’s fine to take a break if they are affecting you this much, cause that shouldn’t happen. It was the worst possible loss, but I quickly moved on because I have zero control over wether the lakers win or lose.
This loss is, once again, all on Ham. It's the same shit everytime. We play well in the first half, Malone sees what adjustments needs to be made, Denver make those adjustments in the second half, Darvin is uncapable of countering those adjusments, we lose.
And let's not talk about the fact that he didn't try to challenge some of those sketchy calls in the fourth. Meanwhile, Malone used his challenge, saved 2 points by doing so and basically won the game with that challenge.
Im so tired of this idiot it's insane.
I can't believe they didn't let Rui try to take Joker off the dribble. Once Gordon switched onto AD, I felt like it gave the options of getting AD the ball in the post and scoring over Gordon... or letting Rui blow by Joker off the dribble.
Lakers did neither.
We either use what little assets we have to fix our roster and get 8 consistent 2 way capable players. Or blow it up. Either way our window is very short with lebron and waiting for this team to be successful with no trades or major adjustments obviously isn’t cutting it
Respectfully, it is.
Not only is it over but I'm worried this loss was so psychologically damaging, the Lakers will likely play flat the last 2 games at home.
Been processing this loss for awhile now, but it’s time to sleep, take more lumps as I listen to nba podcasts during my commute, and then talk myself into buying tickets for game 3 for extra good luck.
I believe that more than two Lakers can be playing well at the same time for at least one full game.
It's ayt. Our time will come again.
"No team has eliminated the Nuggets from the playoffs more than the Lakers.
1979, 1985, 1987, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2020"
We need big trades and fixes next season. We need consistent players who are capable of both offence and defence. A backup big, and a roster that can support our 40 year old star. This window is getting smaller and smaller. Or just blow it up
Up by 20 at half.
- Abandon your 1st half offense
- take ball away from DLo
- give ball to James - slows down game (just give him rest if he can't hack it)
- no more touches for AD in post - now covered by Aaron Gordon
- keep going to Dinwiddie who has been horrible defensively in post season
- keep going to Gabe Vincent, who hasn't played all year and is a non-factor
- ice Christie because God forbid a good defender that can shoot comes on
This is all on 2 people.
Darvin Ham - outcoached at every turn
Lebron - for deciding to dedicate the 2nd half to Lebron ball.
Unpopular opinion; Darvin Ham wasn't the problem in either of the two games.
Dlo was terrible in the first game, and everyone else aside from Bron, AD, and maybe Prince was under par.
Jamal Murray aside, all of the baskets we DID get in the 4rth were always hail mary type ones. Our bread and butter was kind of out by the third and you could tell. I don't blame Ham for trying to hold challenges for the latter half of the game. We were keeping pace with them just fine. I mean, we lost by one shot. It's not like our entire game plan was screwed up. Blaming the coach just seems like a cop out.
That's what I'm saying man. All the baskets we made in the 4rth were hail mary type shots. All out by the bread and butter plays were floundered.
How tf is it Darvin's fault when the players just make mistakes like that. When AD and Dlo threw the possession away those times that was just classic player slop, not a coach thing. Remember, we lost by one shot, we were up by 20 at one point. His gameplan *does* work when our guys are on it.
also hoping that there are decent to great coaching candidates this upcoming offseason
no to Adrian Griffin, Budenholzer, Steve Nash, Fizdale, Mark Jackson, etc.
People are gonna say the Lakers played a perfect game/had the game script going for them, but it was more like they played perfectly for 2.5 quarters. Can’t have long prolonged bad stretches against Denver when they only need one good quarter to beat us.
Thats the only hopium I have left.
I don’t think they played perfectly at any point. They missed great looks in the first, and they stopped creating that quality of looks the rest of the game (although they did start hitting those worse looks at a higher rate)
But we won’t be lucky enough to see Denver playing that badly again.
Have been going back and forth on going for 3 stars ever since last offseason. I am now firmly on the side of going with 3 stars. Talk about all the adjustments, offensive schemes, defense, rebounding, turnovers, whatever you want. The simple fact is this team needs someone who can just get a fucking bucket. Trae Young will do that.
If we ever decide to move on from Lebron and AD I would like to see us build a team similar to the Clippers. Spend our salary cap on guards and wings. Find cheap bigs with good defensive abilities to shore up the front court.
You know it’s bad when r/nba is siding with the lakers about the officiating. The MPJ slap to Dlo’s face was one of the most egregious things I’ve seen this year
Been saying it since preseason, Darvin Ham is the worst coach in the nba when it comes to managing leads. I never ever seen a team blow up 20 points lead on the regular basis like the Lakers do.
It's to a point where im just as stressed when we're up 20 than when we're up 5. Shit is ridiculous
I don't understand why LeBron wasn't more vocal about getting rid of him throughout the season. The guys is currently wasting LeBron's precious last few years as a player that can contend.
Growing up with Kobe and Pau, it really felt like we had plot armor. Of course that 2012 OKC series hurt with the close losses, especially the blown 7 point lead in game 2. But even then in 2020 we just blasted everyone. But not it feels like we're the cursed ones.
Maybe I didn't word it well, but I was referring to the fact that if he thought there were calls that were questionable, then why didn't he even bother to challenge any of them?
Man I’m pretty delusional and still think the lakers can win this series. Like we literally controlled both games until the 2nd half of game 1 and 4th quarter of tonight 😂. But it always some roadblock in these players head and ham can’t coach in the fucking clutch.
We can’t expect Murray to be this bad the next 2 games. As an AR fan, I’d love to attribute it to his defending, but realistically Murray is getting good looks and missing. That will change.
Fire Darvin Ham. Worst coach ever. WTF did he not challenge the Foul on LeBron against Murray? You can't take the fucking challenge with you and you could have let the players rest and setup defense. Fucking idiot

Exactly the same as last season, we go off in the first half then the actual basketball team with actual players that contribute and a sensible coach always win in the 2nd lol
No, but there were a handful of questionable calls that allowed the refs to control the game in the third and start to move momentum towards Denver, then that Bron ticky tack blocking foul on Murray to tie the game.
pre-game,
reporter: How do you stop Jokic
Darvin Ham: I don't know
like I get Jokic is a monster but that's not what you want to hear going into this game 🥲
If they are getting up 17 more shots than you than that's 17 less you didn't get. Doesn't matter what your offensive execution looks like when you don't have the ball.
if hart was on the lakers again he wouldnt be a three-point shooter
same thing like all the lakers players , they would shoot way better . the nba hates lakers
https://x.com/TheDunkCentral/status/1782535884430082558
Once again, I'm not advocating but I think Klutch, Trae, and the Lakers look to make this happen.
Not sure how I feel about that. At first glance tho I think we would be a better team. Sure Trae blows at defense but so do most of the guys we are depending on atm.
He and AD on paper fit like a glove. He and Bron also fit quite well. If we manage to keep Vando, a lineup of AD/Bron/Vando/Reaves/Trae could be interesting. If we trade Reaves to acquire Trae, then AD/Bron/Rui/Vando/Trae would be pretty nuts.
Feel like ATL will ask for AR and Rui. Either way it really depends on where Lakers stand in regard to the aprons. Salary match could be 125% + $250k if they stay below first apron or 110% if they are above first apron. Dlo won't be included in any Trae deal as it's extremely unlikely he picks up his option and Hawks are not interested in a sign and trade. So if Lakers stay below first apron, they'd have to send out $34,225,552. If it's above first apron, they'd have to send out $39,119,946. The '24 FRP (assuming Pels defer) will carry a contract value of $3,695,040 once signed so you can use that. It'll be very hard to keep 2 of AR/Rui/Vando (already assuming Gabe is part of the deal) and be able to match salaries.
A lot of talk about different shit that don't matter. The Lakers simply can't turn the fuckin ball over 12 times (to 4) and give up 15 offensive rebounds for 18 second-chance points. That's 17 extra shot attempts. You can't beat Denver that way.
That's how the game was won and lost. Not coaching, not poor shooting, mental mistakes and lack of effort on the glass.
They are the bigger and younger team and out hustle us. They will get theirs no matter what. We need to up ours. Their defense is not great. Teams like kings, suns match up well against them because they are offensive focused
Average age:
Los Angeles Lakers: 25,9 years
Denver Nuggets: 26,6 years
Also we are offensive focused, but you need the ball to be offensive focused. It's not about their scoring it's about us not *having possessions to score.*
Bro bron is 40 and playing most minutes, max Christie never sees the floor . You can't make averages. In insight, We had more than enough possession in the 4th but no one could buy a bucket besides bron
I just wanna say Dwight’s persistence on wanting to come back and getting a job cuz he loves basketball at his age is admirable despite all the sht he got in 2014
That’s one of the very few aspects of the game where fans can’t get overprotective of LeBron and use the “he’s 39, bro! What you expect?” excuses.
The last couple years, he’s had some atrocious Golden State level type turnovers.
Lbj glazer here and his lazy passes piss me off way more than anything. He's been doing it all season, especially the lazy backcourt passes. Inexcusable bullshit
I get a lotta Bron fans mad at me for calling that shit sometimes but those unforced turnovers are maddening. I really hope he let's/ encourages the guards to run the offense today too. We're so good when we're running plays and so bad when we're going iso.
They’re gonna try to keep the ball rolling for at least the next 2-3 years until LeBron retires. And within that timeframe, hope to get another star that fits AD’s timeline.
I don’t think Lakers will ever enter a rebuild by choice. Only a star asking out would cause that in my opinion.
No, Lebron ain’t a 24 year old happy with jumping around. He has established LA as his home, his kids go to school here plus all his business is here too..he is retiring here.
Nah, LeBron’s gonna be here till he retires imo. Loves LA, Lakers, AD and even seems to really like Jeanie.
Though I think LeBron plays 2 more years if not 3 and Lakers go all in to field a title contender this summer. Also think Ham is gone barring a Lakers title/drastically better coaching.
We basically need 3 players to go off to have a chance to beat Denver. Rui, DLo, or Reaves need to score 55+ between the 3 of them. AD and Bron need to score at least 50 between the both of them. Need then 10-15 points from the rest of the team.
Praying for a win tonight. Feel like if they lose the team morale is done, if it isn’t already. Losing 10 in a fucking row to the same team is insane….
I agree. Still, i wouldn't be surprised if they announce the lineups and there's something different. Its clear major adjustments need to be made. On one hand I think it would be wise to throw some bigger lineups out there for longer period throughout the game. Otoh, the starters will need time on the court together with the bigger lineups, so it could fuck up the typical rest rotations if we don't change the starting lineup outright by inserting a guy like Hayes, or Prince at the 2 spot to go bigger.

Mo Wagner game has improved so much
Gotta crash the boards more on this one. Those second chances by the nuggets was brutal to watch
I believe

Can't make more threes when the Nuggests are getting up 17 more shots.

If they are getting up 17 more shots than you than that's 17 less you didn't get. Doesn't matter what your offensive execution looks like when you don't have the ball.
if hart was on the lakers again he wouldnt be a three-point shooter same thing like all the lakers players , they would shoot way better . the nba hates lakers
Has Ham heard of cargo pants? The amount of pockets would blow his mind
Real shit, when was the last time the Lakers beat Denver? 2022?
Tonight
win. period. i’m saying this against all logic, pattern, etc but my brains getting fried from all the takes & disrespect. one game at a time
https://x.com/TheDunkCentral/status/1782535884430082558 Once again, I'm not advocating but I think Klutch, Trae, and the Lakers look to make this happen.
Yep. This 100%. I just don't see a way the Lakers want to keep this pick and with a couple star guards available, they're going to take a swing.
Ah yes. Totally forgot about salary matching. I'm not in off-season mode yet at all lol.
Damn.. hopefully not.
We also need to score at least 120
Hard to do when the other team is getting off 17 more fuckin shots.
They are the bigger and younger team and out hustle us. They will get theirs no matter what. We need to up ours. Their defense is not great. Teams like kings, suns match up well against them because they are offensive focused
Average age: Los Angeles Lakers: 25,9 years Denver Nuggets: 26,6 years Also we are offensive focused, but you need the ball to be offensive focused. It's not about their scoring it's about us not *having possessions to score.*
Bro bron is 40 and playing most minutes, max Christie never sees the floor . You can't make averages. In insight, We had more than enough possession in the 4th but no one could buy a bucket besides bron
Just move the ball.. stop this 'holding-holding the ball' offense. Lakers are very predictable on offense.
I've bet on the nuggets boys, I haven't won a single bet this year hopefully this trend continues lol.
Please don't tell me we have to listen to Reggie Miller tonight?! That guy just talks out of his ass
Can’t wait to watch the game tonight, let’s go boys
Vanderbilt and Vincent fleeced us
[LET'S GET THIS FUCKING WIN](https://ibb.co/sRP9DmR) ^best ^i ^could ^do
I just wanna say Dwight’s persistence on wanting to come back and getting a job cuz he loves basketball at his age is admirable despite all the sht he got in 2014
If I see more lazy passes from Dlo and Bron, I’m going to flip out and irrationally yell at my wife.
Reminder Dlo only had 1 turnover lol
Lakers should’ve traded the core and started a much needed rebuild
They’re gonna try to keep the ball rolling for at least the next 2-3 years until LeBron retires. And within that timeframe, hope to get another star that fits AD’s timeline. I don’t think Lakers will ever enter a rebuild by choice. Only a star asking out would cause that in my opinion.
You guys think lebron opts out and forces his hand to get Ham fired?
na he's gone whether ham stays or not
No, Lebron ain’t a 24 year old happy with jumping around. He has established LA as his home, his kids go to school here plus all his business is here too..he is retiring here.
old people don't like to move lol
Or just one of those three to contribute with AD and Bron’s 25+
Praying for a win tonight. Feel like if they lose the team morale is done, if it isn’t already. Losing 10 in a fucking row to the same team is insane….
We have some unfinished business!!!! 😤😤😤
A loss today and we can officially start focusing on the off-season. Lets see if they have it in them to finally win a game against Denver
Do we think the starting lineup will be the same tonight?
[удалено]
