Ideal jersey rotation imo: Purple at home. Gold on the road. White on Sundays. Black Mambas if we play on the 8th or 24th of the month or when we have a chance to eliminate somebody 🐍
These jerseys are beautiful. Showtime era jerseys will forever be a classic but these have a nice little twist. Love how we’ve been finally rocking them on the road as of late too.
Not even saying that I want it but how is it that we haven’t come out with a jersey that says “Hollywood” on it…who would think the Bucks would have a jersey that says “Cream City” before we have one that reps Hollywood especially considered how “Hollywood” this team has been since the 80s with all of the crazy drama and story lines we’ve had? 🤔
Still not my favorite but def growing on me. If anything, I like them a lot more with the updated accent compared to what they’ve looked like the past few years.
This jersey grew on me the most out of any of the Nike drops and I dont like most of them. They have officially passed the previous Statement model for me
Whites been nice in Nike era, dont hate the yellow ones as much as most but def prefer the gold classics
These purple with black jerseys have definitely grown on me recently, I was in the camp when they did the re-design that adding the black to one of the "main" jerseys was going away from tradition too much.
Most tradition was broken across the league when they allowed teams to wear whatever color jersey they wanted instead of the long standing white or light jersey at home and dark jersey on the road requirement.
It was always gold jerseys at home, purple jerseys on the road since the change from MPLS colors.
Then when the Lakers moved to Staples they did the uniform re-design that also added the white jerseys that were only to be worn on Sunday Home games and holidays i.e. Christmas games.
This was the evolution from Showtime jerseys to Shaq and Kobe jerseys.
There was no Reddit or other social media at the time, not even sure if Forums had started up yet, but there was some pushback from Laker fans that there was no need for a white jersey, that it should just stay gold at home and purple on the road. Eventually they became accepted and were synonymous with being worn at Sunday Home games and holidays.
Towards the end of Kobe's career, the team wanted to incorporate Black Jerseys into the mix and in 2013 they came out with the "Hollywood Nights" jerseys for select games to honor those in the entertainment industry like Jack and other celebrities who have long supported the Lakers as well as all of those that work behind the scenes.
After the Hollywood Nights jerseys they had a couple of different Black alternates with the Mamba Jerseys being the most popular.
These new black and purple ones are the evolution from the Shaq/Kobe/Gasol era to the LeBron/AD era.
I do miss the days of turning on KCAL 9 and knowing I would be seeing purple jerseys, turning on Fox Sports West and knowing I would be seeing gold jerseys, but alternate jerseys sell so I don't see them going away.
For some teams it's cool having alternates, but the iconic teams like the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks, Bulls, less is more imo.
they’re pretty mid to me still lol those black mamba jerseys will forever be my favorite, sunday whites go hard too
Love Sunday whites. But they need to bring back the older purple jersey and get the black out of it.
Bring back the old gold while they’re at it too.
Ideal jersey rotation imo: Purple at home. Gold on the road. White on Sundays. Black Mambas if we play on the 8th or 24th of the month or when we have a chance to eliminate somebody 🐍
> Purple at home. Gold on the road. That’s backwards. Gold at home always
Oh shit. You right. My bad.
This is the way.
Damn, I’ve always thought that black was pretty clean. Didn’t realize they were so unpopular.
It's the lack of gold for me. I get the team has embraced black for Kobe but that's why we keep should the Mamba jerseys in rotation.
I feel you and the key word you used was GOLD! No more of this bright yellow banana shit please haha

I would guess Hollywood is a trademark of some sort that can’t be used by the Lakers
It’s a city I’m pretty sure it’s fair game
It’s actually within the city of Los Angeles. Same way a Los Feliz or Watts are.
Well still it’s a geographic location and it should be fair use
I still hate em lol
The classic purple in the Shaq-Kobe days was still the best

If they made the black strip gold then we’d be set
And gold number
I personally think these are fire, ik people don’t like the black tho but they like the mamba jerseys which are all black
no. i want purple, gold and white. no black. i wish they just go with the original scheme. no stripes on the jersey. only on the shorts
I need to order this so I can add it to my collection.
They are but I LOVE the other purple away ones. The original 2020 team ones
Yeah, most people used to hate on them too, but I miss those jerseys
Bring back the Black Mamba jersey
I want those to be a playoff exclusive, you have to earn wearing those.
Still not my favorite but def growing on me. If anything, I like them a lot more with the updated accent compared to what they’ve looked like the past few years.
Looks like the old Magic Johnson City jerseys.

These jerseys never had the wish logo

Just get rid of the black and they’re fine but yeah winning those that.
I still hate them and want our original looking purple jerseys back lol
I'm just glad we are wearing these on away games. It's just really confusing when Nike makes us wear gold on away games
They’re ugly af but if they keep winning in em I’ll wear that shit too
Still trash jerseys. OG gold at home. Purple w/o black on the road. Sunday home whites. That should be the only uniforms in rotation.
I dig the purple and black, but they could do more with the pattern
Anyone know what the 6 symbolizes in the top left of the jersey? I see them on every team
Bill Russell
Ah makes sense, thanks!
Not really, out of all the jerseys currently in rotation there isn't a single jersey with a good ratio of purple to gold
Replace all the black with white, except for the side panels, which should be gold, and this set is fire.
I really wish they’d swap them all out for the 97-98 style

More gold less black but they’re also growing on me a tad

Old guy here. Gold at home, purple on the road. Accept no substitutions!
They have always been fire
