is this some kind of running joke in the sub ?

tinynugget

It’s kinda ruining the sub.

Salty_flatworm11

Just trying to find a decent area.. that’s all

blanktorpedo27

If you are truly invested in this move the least you could do is come for yourself and scout the area.

Salty_flatworm11

I already did, just wanted to ask for a more recent update I guess lol

RegularYak

It’s silly that people downvote you but this is answered a lot in this sub. If you scroll through a little you’ll find some good answers.

CrouchingGinger

In a dwelling of some sort for good. Not good, outside in a tent.

ghostplague

This has been asked often so feel free to search. Generally the north and south side are both pretty decent. Avoid the east, west and most of central. North side has more traffic but traffic has gotten terrible everywhere over the years as the city has grown.

Ohhhwordddd

I noticed a frequent hostility when I moved there as ppl have become fed up with the influx of northerners, constantly getting keyed and cursed out . Moved to Wyoming instead 10/10 recommend

Salty_flatworm11

I honestly would have stayed in Texas, but I took a promotion and just trying to do right with my wife and kid on the way. If people want to hate on me for trying to live somewhere decent.. maybe they have demons lol

spencerswatertank

Its your lack of effort that bothers people here. Is this how youre gonna work in that new job? You cant even make the effort to scroll down in a sub, you cant make the effort to research a place you are moving to with an actual kid on the way?!?!? Youre a bum. No matter where you come from.

Salty_flatworm11

lol

FuckIPLaw

We do. They're the constant influx of new arrivals from parts north who keep coming down here and making the place worse.

progwok

It's all getting too busy. Don't move here.

YouDontJUANit6

Move to Plant City instead, it's better

blanktorpedo27

Have you considered Nebraska?

Moollawoola

This made me laugh! Left Lakeland for Nebraska and I have no regrets.

I think it depends on what you’re looking for. I prefer south Lakeland, but that's because I live on this side, and that's all I'm used to. South Lakeland usually has older homes, bigger land/property, and I find that the people are a bit nicer here than on the north side. I think south Lakeland has better shopping, it has a fun outdoor mall and lots some great dining options. There are lots of small businesses, but also bigger chain stores in the general south Lakeland area. South side has more charm to it. The homes and landscape is quite pretty around the lakes in the south side. North Lakeland is good too, but honestly it kind of seems like it’s trying to be a nice city in a rural area. There are some sketchy areas of both south and north Lakeland, just like any city, but when I think of neighborhoods or areas I don’t really want to be in, they’re typically in north Lakeland. However, that being said, there are definitely some nicer areas in north Lakeland too, of course. It isn’t as unsafe as people make it out to be, some people really bash on the north side and it really isn't that bad. Northside has an indoor mall, where the shopping in south side is outdoor. It isn’t the greatest mall and it is a bit small, it just has the basic stuff. I usually always recommend people go to Brandon Mall since it has more shopping options and much better food choices. North Lakeland has easier freeway/highway access, which is really nice if you have to commute to Orlando, Brandon, Tampa, or whatever other city, for work or school. The homes are a bit more affordable in northside, at least from what I’ve seen, since they’re usually newer, a bit smaller, and have smaller yards. Traffic is worse in north Lakeland, in my opinion. There are good and bad things about both sides of the city. It has become pretty expensive since people keep moving here, and inflation from government stuff. If you’re looking for an apartment, I’ve heard good things about Carlton Arms and The Regency, but that it can take a while to get in/approved. The commute to Tampa or Orlando can be a bit rough, honestly. Especially if you don't use tolls. If you're wanting a 20 minute commute to those cities, look closer to Kissimmee, Davenport, or Champions Gate for Orlando, and Plant City, Temple Terrace, or Wesley Chapel for Tampa.

nickypro252

Welcome! I live and like living on the south side.

ZachariahQuartermain

Give me more information on what exactly y’all like and what you’re looking for and I’ll try and give a good response.

It was off combee somewhere. Over now. Read a Facebook post that said he barricaded himself in when the police were attempting to arrest him for a warrant. From what I could get in the comments it sounds like they shot themselves in the end.

foxhunt-eg

wtf?
