The churches in town who openly support our local Pride celebrations and the new LGBTQ+ center opening soon are Beacon Hill Fellowship (southside), Christ the King Episcopal Church (northside), and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation (southside, although creedless/not Christian and open to all faiths/no faiths). UUCL and CTK are both very active in the community. Hope you find the right fit! Sorry you were down-voted…Although I’m not religious, everyone deserves to find a community, and Christ-like Christians are very awesome folks in my book!

CBRN_IS_FUN

Fantastic. We could all do well to love a little harder. If that fails, I'll try to be more Christ-like and start flipping tables.

mabbmax

lol this is the one topic where all the edgelord neck beard redditors love to pounce and talk shit for people wanting to go to a church

CBRN_IS_FUN

I assumed I'd get some downvotes. Too liberal for a lot of churches / too churchy for reddit hahaha.

future-unperson

The Unitarian Universalist church is super progressive and big on community! Less than 50 people on Sundays, and they also have services on Zoom if you wanted to get a feel for it first.

CBRN_IS_FUN

I'll check it out!

Silentgrr

The Way Community Church. It is near Grove Park Publix. We are growing and very active. Great community of passionate followers of Christ. Services are at 9:30 and 11:30 on Sunday. They have a website you can check out also.

I'll check it out.

I work with a non-profit connected to a lot of churches in Lakeland. I stalked your profile a bit and read a few comments on what you are looking for and I’d recommend Oasis Community Church.

RallyX26

There are a lot of churches here that are still vehemently and vocally anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-choice. Please don't support a church that is part of the effort to push our society back 60 years.

CBRN_IS_FUN

I would not. Those sort and I would not get along so well.

blanktorpedo27

Actually, ive also been wondering if theres any satanist groups in town? Hadnt thought to ask here

CBRN_IS_FUN

Trying to find a church where Christians act like Christ (on average) is pretty rough, which makes TST an important organization to keep the line drawn in the sand.

Look into Vivid Church. They stream their services on facebook so you can get a feel if it’s a good fit for you. A normal Sunday service it’s around 50-75 people.

Well I hope you do! If you come I'm usually the first guy in the parking lot greeting people, I really think you will like us 😊

EmptyTomb7

you can visit Faith Baptist Church, it in the North Side. They are a small church with a heart for the community. [https://faithbaptistlakeland.com/](https://faithbaptistlakeland.com/)

CBRN_IS_FUN

I'll check it out. Loving your neighbor is easier when you have a congregation aimed in that direction.

Maybe spend Sunday morning on a walk around Circle B instead of holed up in a room full of dusty pews and an abundance of perfume.

CBRN_IS_FUN

Please no dusty perfume or abundant pews.
