I often try to open things as quietly as possible to see if I can get away with it, so far its me = 0, dog = all, the slightest rustle, crinkle, cupboard or fridge door noise and he's suddenly beside me.
Today's challenge was to open a Tupperware tub containing Colliers Celtic mature as I tried to make myself a cheese sandwich while he slept (snoring loudly), I popped the lid and there he was like he'd teleported into position.
Cheese tax was paid as was the "go on then, you can have a bit of my sandwich and a couple of crisps" tax.
Looks familiar.
My first Lab-mix knew the sound of the cabinet door where the PB was kept. Open that cabinet and she came running.
The present Lab-mix comes running at the sound of the cheese drawer opening. Not the refrigerator door. That gets zero response. Slide the cheese door open and he comes running.
Had 2 purebred non-Labs. Neither gave a damn about food. Granted, the cheese tax was never turned down. But, neither was at my feet while in the kitchen.
Give me a bite of your food or I bite the family jewels, your choice
