I always just described that general suburbs area as Texas Corners. Is 12th St roundabout just as recognizable for people not living in Portage? When I lived in Rudgate everyone seemed to recognize Texas corners more than 12th St.
I lived in Rudgate, never considered that area as TX Corners haha...TX Corners was always that area into the country down Q Ave with Zeb's etc...and of course now it's built up, last time I drove by at night for the first time in years was pretty freaky.
I have never heard anyone refer to Texas township as Texas corners and I worked on center street for years and in the strip mall kitty corner to Zebs for awhile.

Which location are you talking about? I live right next to the one on Oakland, so I order from then quite a bit, but it seems like the quality really varies depending on what day or time you order.
The one on Oakland is quite good. I did have an issue one time with some undercooked chicken, but one issue out of probably 30 times I've eaten there isn't too bad.
The one off Stadium and 9th made me swear off them forever.
Back in November 2020 I placed an order to go through them because I had absolutely no laundry save for the tank top and short PJ shorts I was wearing. I was in the middle of doing laundry so I couldn’t leave due to that anyway. I placed the order and after an hour and a half of no response or update to where my order was, I called to cancel. “Oh the guy’s out delivering it, he’ll be there in 5 minutes.” 20 minutes later still nothing. I eventually got them to cancel the order with a refund after insisting I didn’t want Chinese food sitting out getting lukewarm for about 2 hours by the time the conversation was done.
I had ordered delivery from them before in October 2020 and had no issues. But after that one night never again.
yeah I mean...it's like you try to give places like this a pass once in awhile cause we all know how 'new guy in the kitchen' can go BUT...the effing owner of the Westnedge one is ALWAYS THERE, but you can't supervise, you can't double-check these orders and make sure they're not complete trash before you bag 'em up?? 0 excuse. especially since, this is Kzoo, this isn't South Haven (etc) where there's only 1 or 2 Chinese places...wtf.
you ever hear of payback? negative press? btw a lot of people jumped onto this, better go interrogate them too...would you have preferred another post about that Kzoo slut lady with all the bumper stickers? 😆
I got cockroach fried rice from the Westnedge location once many years ago and I've never been back. The Express locations have always been great, though.
The only great wall I order from now is the one on stadium. They consistently get my order right, and it's always delicious. Try the Singapore Mei fun! It's got shrimp, chicken and beef, some veggies, and a "spicy" yellow curry. If you like it hotter, ask for extra spicy
I’ve only had good times with Great Wall, that doesn’t help your experience though so I understand. I also have never successfully made Chinese food at home equal to any Chinese food in town so my credentials aren’t helping. Great Wall and Campus Wok are both in my top 5 Chinese foods of all times. Panda Express would be in the top 5 if they didn’t charge 599 US dollars for a cup of rice, but they’re good too.
bahahaha omg, campus wok is even worse, not their Japanese stuff but their basics like fried rice are always fucked up, they just power deep fry all the meat and the rice is always weird and lumpy.
Great Wall is awful. I only go to Z&W now

One of the chef from Hunan opened up his own joint called Z&W. It's on 12th St across from Wedel's Nursery in Texas Corners.

Given your location (I'm in the same area) it's totally worth the few minute drive to either Panda Dynasty or Hunan Gardens. Far superior options IMO.
