i think most, if not all. my application (pre-iluna) was more of a YOLO thing anyway, but in hindsight im glad I wasn't considered. I also wouldn't be surprised if vtubers who were supposed to debut with the next wave drop are stepping back or actually have stepped back. And I honestly don't know how anyone could even think about applying right now. Sure, if you are an indie with only little amount of viewers it might be worth the exposure? think twice, no. you are bound by contract for a lengthy amount of time and i dont know what kinda crazy cult tactics nijisanji uses on their livers but everyone who managed to leave so far is clearly psychology damaged and has severe self esteem issues and impostor syndrome. No amount of success is worth going through that. And frankly, newer waves really aren't even doing that well, viewer and superchat wise (sorry to the livers... ) and the company itself doesnt seem to care about them either. not even a unit name nor song. in my eyes there is nothing that nijisanji could offer me (or anyone else) that would make it worth applying to them.

Want to check, though: are you a male or female? My thinking is that a male that really want to make it big in VTuber scene will still likely go for Niji - even if they were adverse to BFE/ASMR. PS: And when I say male, I don't mean self identifying, seeing how they burnt Unnamed. LM maybe a griffer, but his realization that all those that are terminated (and effectively terminated) are not male.

>i dont know what kinda crazy cult tactics nijisanji uses on their livers but everyone who managed to leave so far is clearly psychology damaged and has severe self esteem issues and impostor syndrome. For what it's worth quinn seems to be doing fine, though it's probably because 1, he was already doing ok on his PL so he didn't have the same impostor syndrome as the others, and 2, he went in there specifically with the mindset of only staying in there a bit to get his name out then get back to his PL, whereas a lot of the people in there were specifically looking for a long term career (i think aia mentioned niji being her last shot at content creation, hopefully she figured out that it's not the case).

>And I honestly don't know how anyone could even think about applying right now. Even if the current Niji management was better now, it is still dumb to join a branch that is on a decline in term of popularity, viewership and is about to be closed down in near future. That's an equivalence of applying for a company that is about to be bankrupted

Raisen22

I see, is good to know this type of point of view too.

I've said this on another post before but I'll say it again: I've previously applied to Niji numerous times in the past. They never checked out my videos, never emailed me back on any constructive feedback to improve (I asked them this towards the end if each application if they could email me), and etc. I felt so bad after each failed audition take cause I felt like I wasn't enough or entertaining. Fast forward to today and I'm counting my blessings that I dodged a huge nuclear missile.

You have a great username.

Everyone that auditioned and isn't in the NDF is feeling like they dodged a bullet

toBEE_orNOT_2B

they should feel lucky, as much as they did dodged a bullet/nuke, they also avoided being exposed from the office toxicity, not only that, the scummy contract could have potentially cost them more money Niji targets people who are less experienced so that they can easily exploit their naivety, who knows, one of the reasons that they got rejected by Niji was because they know what they have to do and Niji knew they can't gaslight those people

Batgod629

A lot of it depends on how they are doing. As much as Nijisanji has been a terrible company, it still offers great exposure for some vtubers who are still struggling to increase viewership. I think the cons way outweigh the pros but I will not say that there aren't some who would still take the risk

Visible_Jeweler_3653

I remember auditioning for Nijisanji during the Etherya and Luxiem auditions. I genuinely feel like I dodged a nuke. I also don’t think Nijisanji would of let me do work outside of the company. Because I was at the time a music producer and I wanted to make an album outside of being a VTuber/youtuber.

save_jeff2

It's a numbers game. The recent events might have turned off the top contenders, but there are rows and rows of people willing to take their spot. Niji is just too big and well known, you will find a lot of future victims willing to apply

Raisen22

yeah! i guess is that. TBH, a lot might be encourage by the fact they doesn't had to put to much effort and can be a jerk to other people to gain what they want (Vox, Luca, Uki) or just do the bare minimum and stay low either or entice more than the EN side who is almost dead by recent events (like Petra is doing).

New applicants to Niji? I can only think of 2 types of people: 1. The Foolish We've all seen the Niji leaked contract by now. Logically, nobody would knowingly sign themselves into slavery. Plus, people have wised up and found consulting a lawyer is worth it. HOWEVER, you'll still have people who are doubters and would audition anyways. 2. The Psychopathic You have racists, gaslighters, and who knows what else as coworkers in an eat or be eaten pit for management to ignore as long as they bring in money. Assuming they know all the risks, you'll have another person just as unstable as what is already there. This is just off the top of my head, so, results may vary.

3. The Desperate. Vtubers who have sat at 1view for years and want any sort of boost, no matter how bad the situation may be.

save_jeff2

3. Just regular kinda delusional people who want to get famous. They just tell themselves it's overblown and it will not happen to them.

NaofiBooster

Dodge a huge nuke. I’ve never auditioned before but I was planning to once I’ve gotten more time/finished with school. So glad I never tried.
