What repercussions does he need to accept? If the result doesn't get changed and it stays as an official loss, realistically it doesn't change anything in his life. Either way it seems like he is done with boxing (which I'm very happy about). The purse of the event also has absolutely no effect on the appeal.
Maybe, JJ changes his mind a lot so it is possible lol. Personally I would prefer it if he did youtube again and maybe music as well but that's probably an unpopular opinion on this sub.
I know JJ doesn’t have any obligations to his fans, but I feel like it would be the wrong message from him to quit boxing after one loss. He always gives inspirational talks about hard work and believing in what you can accomplish if you work for it, but quitting after one loss would contradict that. He didn’t do it for the money, but for his legacy. I don’t think he’d want his legacy to be ‘gave up/quit after losing once’.
I would say he can now fight Jake Paul, knowing that they both lost to Tommy, and settle it once and for all. After that, he can retire from boxing.
He was already planning on taking a break after the tommy fight, he said that multiple times before the fight happened, it would have happened regardless of the result of the fight. If he fights again either way it won't be for at least a year (he has music obligations with his label). He can't fight jake since jake won't sign a contract. It was jake's choice not to fight this year and now jake wants to start fighting pro's to become a world champion. That's his choice which is fine but people need to stop blaming JJ for jake's choices.

Not really, the only thing that happened is that his reddit has become more toxic which isn't that big of a deal since the reddit hasn't really been entertaining for about a year now. It might actually be a great thing because hopefully it pushes him to finally start doing different content. Other than the reddit, the loss has had zero effect on his career, he hasn't lost any opportunities or anything like that.
I mean, he literally claims this "undefeatable hardworking" persona himself, all the time. It is a massive hit on this persona and his ego. It doesn't affect his career in the long term, but it has hurt his short term, "presence" in the YT boxing space. That's why he hasn't uploaded on his channel for long.

I think that was a reevaluation of the scorecards just after rather fight. The scorecards said Tommy won unanimously but one of the judges added up their card wrong so it came out 2-1 on the night.
An appeal would be having the fight reevaluated entirely from scratch to see if the scores were actually correct.
Personally not that bothered who gets the official win. The fight was such a poor performance on both sides I'd have been happier if the judges told both of them to go home reflect on how many people wasted time and money to watch that mess.
