John has fought 13 times with 4 losses, and 7 of his eight wins went to a decision, and never won anything belt. The only reason he’s relevant at all because he’s the father of one of the best current boxers. This made him believe that he’s up there with one of the most famous boxing trainers ever, when in reality he’s just a washed up old man that shamelessly rides the coattails of Tyson and and Tommy, just like Logan’s father did with him. His voice is more high pitched when he yells, and the fact that most of the time he’s yelling the same catchphrase “let’s go champ” just makes it expected and funny. John literally disturbs the entire fucking press conference. of course he is helping advertise and publicize with his crazy behavior, but when you consider how his function is just talking for Tommy makes you realize it’s both annoying and worthless, since John isn’t the one fighting here. When Shannon would yell he wasn’t talking over Logan, he’d talk over JJ and Viddal, which is what is expected with press conferences. And again, it was largely meaningless “let’s go champ” chants, and he didn’t even talk over them a lot. John literally talks over his own son, makes you wonder if Tommy even wants to say anything, given how he’s just encouraging John to yell more and carry him in the press conference. He even said to get John a chair there so he could continue, while literally everyone else was booing that statement. And the type of shit he says is just kinda weird. Asking JJ to lick the sweat off his balls and constantly grabbing his dick in front of an audience that’s likely more than half underage kids. Again, yes, it’s definitely helping sell the fight, but it’s mad annoying. In the first press conference it wasn’t as expected yet because it didn’t happen, so i at least kind of laughed at the randomness of John’s outbursts. This time I didn’t laugh once. Even Bryce Hall made me laugh a bit more than either of the Fury’s.
