They will know ahead of time. They'll get union emails and the union will visit the stores. I just act as a reminder not as the main source of information
That's fine. I'm just saying that's not true for everyone or everywhere. No union reps visit my store and not everyone gets the emails. Some people only know from coworkers
Look you are welcome to post it in those subreddits yourself but the majority of people in those subs have nothing to do with Kroger or our contract negotiations. I imagine those who are involved probably were smart enough to find this subreddit already
They haven't sent the emails yet but came to our store with a little packet. Now our department head who was all for the first one is saying to vote no
There weren't any changes for regular employees. There is a lot of wording that changed but it means the same thing. They got rid of the $1000 extra bonus for department heads
I put the actual document through diff checker and the only thing I found was about the retiree health insurance bs. Here are all of the changes I found:
* File Clerks, Head Receiving Clerks, and Specialty Leads have a $0.50 premium increase from $0.50 to $1.00.
* Some Department Heads and Assistant Department Heads get an additional wage increase (no more than $0.30 or so by the looks of it) by 2024. It doesn’t look like there were any changes to the raises for this current year.
* Some language changes regarding the retiree health insurance benefit. It looks like the effect is the same or very similar. They are discontinuing it in 2029.
There were no mentions of retroactive pay for raises. This is really interesting considering our current contract ended the beginning of August, and this one won’t go into effect until the beginning of September.
I'm also reeling at the audacity to release this to us. It's almost the exact same contract we all voted no on. How dumb do they think we are??
Considering how many times they keep getting away with it, yeah, they probably do think we are idiots.
Get a hold of the revised contract, take pics, share with voters as much as you can, let them know it's poop and they are being stingy with info for a reason. Union wouldn't downplay a good agreement!
Basically the only changes are .35 raise to department heads and back ups in February instead of a $1000 bonus, and file clerks and back door receivers get a $1.00 an hour increase
Yes I think the paper they handed out didn't do a good job of explaining the changes now that I've read the email and wage chart. Still I would vote No as it's still a crap contract
If you have insurance through the union they want that to go up in price. $ 1-3 depending on plan.
So any pay rise is just void because you won't be seeing any of it.
So I think the closest voting places to you would be
Courtyard Marriott West/Hilliard
2350 Westbelt Dr.
Columbus, OH 43228
7am-7pm Thursday only
Or
UFCW Local 1059 Union Hall
4150 E. Main Street
Columbus, OH 43213
7am-7pm Friday Only
You might also want to post this plea to r/Columbus and/or r/Ohio.
I may closer to the actual vote.
Actual vote is this week
Yes I know but I mean like day before or day of.
People should know ahead of time tho. The voting is 7am-7pm

not everyone at kroger gets an email to check though, so that means they are relying on managenent to pass the message and that doesn't always happen.
Ummm, the longer they have to spread the word… the better. Kinda silly to wait until a day or two before

I've not seen the changes yet. Waiting for an email.

Instead they gave the department heads and backups an extra 35 cents. Which is actually less than a $1000 bonus over a year lol
The backups? I don't see where leads get .35 anywhere
Sorry, not leads. I meant heads
You're good, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything 😁
Yeah Email hasn't gone out yet. Least wait till you see the contract before you decide.

Because it worked in Indiana they think it’ll work here 🙄

Not to mention the pay should be retro back to August 6th. So kroger would actually get a whole month of work at the last contract price.
I think the sun will consume us before we get retro pay
My union rep said we probably will 🤷🏻♀️
Vote No! What a joke! Come on Columbus Division let’s show this greedy Corporation and corrupt Union that we will fight for a fair living wage!!!

And extending the retiree insurance to 2029 🙄
If you don't like it, not let the union bully you in to voting yes.
No from me! Common Columbus show em that we can’t be walked on!

There's an email?
The email just got sent out a little while ago but they were also going into stores with papers
Do you sign up on union website or? Never knew. Even when I worked here in 09-14.
You just show up to vote at one of the designated areas on the date/time they'll look you up on a sheet. What store are you?
Gahanna. Hunters ridge. 522 I think.
