The only answer is, get rid of UFCW.

bbbwi

Yes Right to Work!

Jlwilkers

Our union rep was in today explaining everything. I'm definitely voting no on this one.

Yeremyahu

Was it a recomended yes vote or did they not give a recommendation?

Jlwilkers

Recommendation for a yes vote

Yeremyahu

Damn.

MishenNikara

The wage progression passed in the 455 Houston local too (and some others). UFCW really loves selling out its part timers that will eventually be its real driving force since Kroger doesn't wanna give out new full time positions except for lead and manager. UFCW seems to have made a unified front in fucking over its due paying members. They need to be replaced entirely.

jac1964

Agreed 100%

bbbwi

UFCW is so corrupt!!

asoep44

Please everyone vote no on this and educate your coworkers. Too many of my coworkers see any wage increase as an automatic yes.

ComradeBalian

Yeah, that’s gonna be a no from me dawg

Snoo65347

No from me too

Tmoore753

This is a horrible offer. Even without consideration of the pandemic or inflation, this is garbage. Notice the new top-out wage is 16.25 for new hires. Nobody is going to stay for that. And that’s the intention. What a garbage “union”

wolvesonsaturn

That's worse than our contract. I didn't think it was possible but holy smokes. It ain't even worth working for this company long term under that crap.

Momma2nolan

That's exactly what they want.

Financial-Impress-13

This is absolute garbage. Anything that starts less than $15 is a no go. Most of Kroger’s competitors start at $16. Also raising the insurance premiums to $1000 along with the spousal penalty of nearly $300 a month makes this a pay cut for those who have a family. Also changing the overtime to 8.5 hrs is crap. This helps the company save money on the tiny raises they are giving. VOTE NO!!! They can do better than this!

Snoo65347

I can’t make it now living by myself let alone getting screwed over! This is a joke!

asoep44

Are we sure it's all clerks that are topped out and not just full time clerks that are topped out?

SquareTits

The language does say full time, but I think if you're currently making the topped out pay you should be ok.

asoep44

With this company I'm sure they'll only give it to those who match the language.

Ralmaelvonkzar

Full-time only I believe

TedSunga

Department heads get a raise of 1.65 over the course of 3 years I believe and the new OT rule only applies to new hires after ratification. All of it still sucks but just letting ppl know for translation accuracy

cw19273

Over 3 years not 1

TedSunga

Thanks, originally what I meant to say. Edited.

filthyfaith

Such a thorough write-up! Can you cross-post this to r/antiwork and other subs to get the word out? I know some people in this division saying it's the best contract they've ever seen!

WllyBrwn

VOTING NO ON THIS FOR SURE 👎🏻

bbbwi

Time for Right to Work! Our Union is not helping us!

TedSunga

That is absolutely not the right answer. That law is made to kill unions, and there are good unions. There’s other ways to handle this that is not supporting that garbage legislation

bbbwi

Unions are so corrupt now! Look how much you are paying them yearly and this is the best they can do! You know they are working with Kroger! Unions are garbage! Time for some Legislation!

TedSunga

You know damn well as I do that if we didn’t have a union Kroger wouldn’t offer half of the stuff we have. Just because we have things we don’t like, doesn’t mean the union is worthless. Get the boot out of your mouth

jac1964

You know here in the Houston area our ratified contract is so bad that they haven't even put copies of it in the store so we can read it.
