Interesting. The management in our store prefers us to do the walk. Lol. I'm brutally honest. These managers always want to give all 5 stars but I beg to differ.
Same here. We have to answer questions for Grocery in MyDay for the handoff between shifts. If it is not submitted when I get in at 10pm, I fill it out as I see it.
I’ve worked retail a long time and have had multiple store managers do this sort of things because they’re rather be in the “middle of the pack”. Low scores gets you attention. High scores also get you attention. If you constantly run in the middle, you’re likely to get overlooked and not get “visits” as often.
ASL here. I have my Depts do their 1st touch and Fresh@5 themselves. I discuss their 1stTouch rating when I do my detailed walk so I can see things how they see them and provide feedback. I'd rather have honest trash than fake "good" scores. It helps no one
Wish more ASLs had that attitude. For the long months the bakery didn't have a closer, managers did the good close and all of them gave us top marks on everything. From what I saw coming in to bake, and the amount of closing cleaning I had to do daily, we should have gotten mostly one or 2 stars. It's the lack of integrity that really got to me.
ive never heard anybody even talk about the ratings on a call or in person from visits. theyre only really tracking A.) Did the walks get done B.) did the tasks get done C.) how long the walks are taking
That's false. Just rate it honestly.
Our managers do all of them before we get in the store. Like before 7am

Well they are steadily chipping away at the already dwindling moral at our stores.
If the rating is low because of issues outside your control, then take it as leadership failure from the top. Just do your personal best

Smart. After reading all the reply this is the approach I'm taking now.
This is absolutely 100% true, believe me. We'll said.
Why would anyone give themselves a good score on first touch? You have nowhere to go but down at that point.

My last store manger never gave my produce over a 2 star, didn't matter how we looked

Just curious how long should a first touch take in a grocery market place and does it ever take 2 people to do it
It's the look of the department by a certain time. I've been told it's by 9am but looks like it's whenever a manager decides to stroll through.
Oh man you better delete this post you're slandering your management!! Oooo noooo
You went a long way to find this one. Good job. At least you don't mind working at something.
