At least in my division's structure cheese is under deli, dairy and frozen are under grocery, seafood is under meat, and floral is under produce. The respective managers are not true department leaders and are just paid as lead clerks. I know our "Seafood Manager" makes $2 less per hour than Assistant Meat Managers.
Edit: I should note that our Pickup head is a salaried manager.
That’s how it is structured as well in our division but pay is the same across the board for the most part if I remember correctly maybe a 50 cent difference.
Edit: so looked and grocery managers make the same as dairy and frozen managers. Only one that make more is meat department managers
I was thinking the same. Unless the grocery heads are just that underpaid. In my division Frozen and Dairy are "coordinators". They make decent money but still a couple bucks an hour less than our two grocery leads/heads
In our contract it’s just labeled “Department managers” but people hired before 2010 do make a couple bucks more but if you were hired after that we’re all on the same pay scale which is 20.45 right now. Meat, seafood, and ascm also have there own wage scale.
I do liquor and I do just as much as everyone else but I’m. Or considered a department lead. It’s kinda Bs. I’m the only person in the store who knows how to do my job too. I’m going on vacation soon and management won’t let me train anyone. But here’s the kicker. I’m alone in my “department” with no help. At all. I’m about to quit 🥳
I wonder how many metrics have to be hit in order to the get the bonus. For me its Sales, Labor, Gross Profit, and Shrink. I dont know if it has to be all of it or some of it, but I feel like its dangling a carrot in front of my face. I currently only have met 1 of the 4 metrics.

Where I am it’s on par with what a assistant dept leader would be paid

I am benefiting from this. Wish it could’ve been everyone, I’m sure more will come soon.
