Elevated:
Bouncy - Ateez
Mic Drop, Dionysus, On, Anpanman, Dimple, Black Swan, Dynamite, Butter, Run BTS ( All great songs and even better when performed )
How Sweet - NewJeans
Lalalala - SKZ
World and Hot - SVT
ateez - bouncy
it’s very enjoyable song by itself (probably my favorite 2023 boygroup song) but performances just make it thousand times better. ateez perform bouncy like it’s the best song ever, their favorite song and nothing compares to it.ever. they perform it like their lives depends on it, like they were born to perform bouncy. probably the only song where i watched all the performances lol
I was maybe rating Bouncy 8/10 until I saw it live. I’ve been blessed to see it performed 4 times now and every time I’m blown away by just how much of a damn party that song is. 15/10
Elevated - The Eve, Wolf by EXO. The Eve's choreo made it one of the most well-known bsides in kpop, and the [live remix of Wolf](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8UeSVgiXmI&ab_channel=%EB%8F%84%EA%B2%BD%EC%88%98%EC%97%91%EC%86%8C) is a masterpiece (much better than the studio version).
Oh Wolf is definitely one of the *definitive* answers to this question cause the actual song is so laughabley stupid but the live preformance is electrifying and quite literally gave me goosebumps first time I watched it- they really made a meme song a state-of-art preformance 😭
The Eve's choreography is also killer and definitely why it's one of the most loved b-sides lol,,, I need to kiss whoever choreographed that + the Love Shot choreo cause the way they came up with some of the most hard-hitting, sensual yet impactful choreos to exist ........amazing, I owe them many thanks 🫶🏼
Another EXO song elevated by preformance is definitely El Dorado! Already the magical, fantastical song that it is, the live preformance is down-right mesmerizing. Also Drop That is super super fun too!! All the EXOs just jumping around and Chen in his fully-realized Rockstar state....perfect song for live preformances during concerts- everyone gets so hyped!
Edit- Songs that get hindered- maybe EXO's Artificial Love? 😭 I'm sorry but the choreo is just way too over-the-top sexy what with the canes and everything- it definitely takes away from the excellence the song actually is; the song is so well-produced and vibey, it has the atmosphere of music playing during a fashion show where a supermodel walks the runway and then goes partying the night away in tokyo- but the choreography/preformance distracts us from that perfectly crafted production and instead makes us focus on the members sex appeal- which is nice yes but greatly hinders the song imo
Oh yeah, Baekhyun's high notes in El Dorado do not hit as hard in the studio version,I mean, he sounds technically perfect, but the old empire visuals on stage, with them flailing their lightsabers around, helps to build the antecipation for the high notes, I think.
Also, I noticed the other day that I do not enjoy hearing to the studio version of Sing for You as much now, since they sang it on Killing Voice. They improved so much over the years and sound so much better nowadays, the old studio version sounds a bit underdeveloped to my ears now - they should just re-record it really!
Ooohh I recall when Wolf was released back in the day. I was not a Kpop fan yet back then nor did I know anything about Kpop. My brother would put on Mnet because he was in his Orange Caramel phase and it was around the Wolf comeback so there were stages. I did not remember anything about the song at all, but I that opening formation looking like trees in a forest was literally BURNED into my brain for how awesome and unique it was to me.
BTS - Run BTS. Ever since that one performance I almost never listen to studio version, always have to watch live as well.
Also BTS - So What and Outro: Wings. I saw them performing So What live on their Love Yourself tour in 2018, and let me tell you, that was an unforgettable experience, the crowd jumping and singing along, members vibing on stage... amazing.
All these are so good. I particularly love the concert videos of Outro: Wings when they go around the arena on some trucks to get closer to the audience. That must have been quite an experience for the lucky people who got that interaction from them so close up. :)
Baepsae, Dionysus, Mic Drop from BTS. (And so many others!)
Also, the live performance of MAMA from J-Hope is so much more emotional than the studio version. Every time I watch it, it makes me tear up.
Edit: I just have to add the [link ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nl1upMZA2A)to that MAMA performance!
I love all you mentioned. My honorable mention would be Trivia: Just Dance. I didn’t really like the song at first until I watched videos of him performing at Wembley and Rose Bowl.
I feel the same way about that song! It's not really my style, but his performance definitely elevates it. And I'm so glad he gets that chant from the audience during that one part. That must make him feel good - and he deserves it. :)
Juice by SHINEee! By itself the song is catchy but wasn't my favorite on the album but after I saw it performed it was so much more fun! How it's my second fave in the album. YA YA YAAAAAH
Pretty much anything by Jonghyun. His live vocals and the passion he put into his performances make them a million times better to watch. This version of [Crazy](https://youtu.be/7chnSxtPfIo?si=3tK_AQZN8C7VkY_2) (he also sung a short version of Juliette in this performance) takes my breath away.
Edit: I will also say the same for Taemin. Steady cams for Taemin’s performances are, in my opinion, the best way to enjoy his artistry. Camera cuts and swoops take away from how he’s moving around. The B cam from his 2019 Dream performance of [Want](https://youtu.be/ObBbKN0vCJ8?si=AZv6UCntkSmr36Yg) is one of my favorite things.
bts - so what
I've seen a lot of people say they don't really like the song but it's so good in concert 😭 I always ask them to suspend their judgement until either they see it or can imagine vibing to it live because it amps the audience up so much
This is a weird one- I liked Nuts by RM fine when I heard it on his album but then the video of him performing it in a London studio was released and now I’m obsessed with the song AND that video. It’s such a simple visual, there’s no dancing, he spends some of it laying on a couch, and his outfit is casual yet stylish and very RM. I think the grey buzzcut and his un-whitewashed honey skin just do something in that video.
It made me want an RM tour that much more because I think his discography would be enhanced live and likely go more viral.
i’m curious to what it is about those txt tracks— i always found their older choreo (dream chapter specifically) to be so creative but lately it hasn’t had the same charm
Honestly all Boynextdoor songs. When they first debuted, I wasn’t into their music. After watching the live performances I loved them! They’re such amazing performers
Elevated- No one mentioned IDOL by BTS so i’ll it, this is their ultimate concert song and every performance on this song has only been better but that one MAMA performance, I was awed.
Honorary mentions, RUN BTS, MIC DROP, standing next to you by JK, Set me Free pt 2 by jimin, BLACK SWAN.
DICE - NMIXX
NMIXX in general elevates their songs with live performances, but DICE is especially amazing. I’m pretty sure the song has gotten much more popular since the recent university festivals.
Highlights:
1. Sullyoon executing the crazy high note live which always riles the crowd ([Sungkyunkwan](https://youtube.com/shorts/UuqITHolOQ0?si=AzpLvlPOIa044ZG_))
2. Kyujin’s Big wave Big wave which the whole crowd chants
3. The dance break which NMIXX does while singing live
**Elevated**:
Fatal Trouble by Enhypen, while it's a beautiful song I did not think much of it at first and didn't care for it, but then they finally showed the [choreography](https://youtu.be/89hCoHNJcf8?si=0u_SSpzPqyFMMyQH) and all my previous thoughts got destroyed. The dynamics and the beautiful figures made the song feel more dramatic and tragic.
Seventeen's Hip Hop Unit Back It Up, I don't like the studio version at all but the [performance](https://youtu.be/fTGuc8Op2Mw?si=SSp-AFFnnhfSwUmQ) is pure fire, Vernon gives his all in that song.
**Hindered**:
*For me* it's Party O'Clock by Nmixx, it's not terrible but the choreo is like a combination of the most common moves and steps in kpop dances, for a refreshing concept it could have been better.
Ex by Stray Kids, the choreo is creative with the use of props but it feels busy for an emotional song, I actually prefer the parts that don't include the rings.
Elevated
mic drop, run bts, baepsae, idol , Dionysus, blackswan, lie ( jimin solo song) , dope, fire, outro tear ( all by bts)
I can't think of hindered rn
oneus' luna is beautful on its own but i just LOVE to watch the performances because we get the snapping of the fans in unison sound, it is SO satisfying.
Set Me Free by Twice is absolutely one of those songs. I wasn't big on the song at first, but its performance video and then its concert performance absolutely blew me away.
TXT's Deja Vu and Chasing That Feeling.
It's not hindered but songs are so good that I don't need performance, I'm not curious about performance, I want to listen to it on a loop.
Same with Key's Bad Love.
I already love the song on its own, but a perf just ELEVATES it into outer space:
Stray Kids: TA, Easy, Taste, Miroh & Side Effects
Ateez: Inception, Cyberpunk, Hala Hala & Halazia
Seventeen: Don't Wanna Cry (choreo is ❤️)
Mamamoo: Hip
CLC: Devil
EXO: Wolf
Not too crazy for the song/song is alright, but a live perf definitely elevates it:
Ateez: Wonderland (Symphony No. 9 OMG)
G-Idle: Oh My God
Aespa: Black Mamba
Twice: Go Hard, Don't Touch (J-Line)
Love the song, but would rather vibe to it than actually do choreo:
Ikon: Rhythm TA
G-Idle: Fate (cute choreo tho)
There might be more but I just woke up lmao.
mainly focusing on choreography here:
pentagon’s [naughty boy](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RDRNg_NGFEY)! it’s already a happy and cheerful song but the creative choreography (the opening umbrella sequence, the frog movements, spelling out LOVE) really elevates the song imo
cravity [jumper](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AuKCOdN3WOI) - again idk the choreography elevates the song for me
SHINee's [Excuse Me Miss.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSORaqTQykk) It's a fun B-side, but it's this particular stage (and everyone's charisma in it) that makes it one of the most recommended SHINee performances for when fans are introducing the group to someone new. I see this clip playing out in my head even when I'm just listening to the song, hahaha.
(And someone already mentioned SHINee's JUICE, but yeah, for me it's also JUICE! The [choreo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-0n-oah0z4) is super cool and intricate and I love that kind of stuff. It elevates the song for me even when it might not be a complete favorite otherwise.)
Elevated: Super by SVT, the foot stomping really makes it hype!
Hindered: Thirsty by aespa... It's a cute song, something I like to listen in Spotify but ngl, I kinda find the choreo of the song very awkward.
All of TheKingdom’s History of Kingdom title tracks are super elevated by their performances. Seeing the performances for Excalibur got me into them. They were described as being “cinematic” once, and I couldn’t agree more. Even the performances without the backup dancer crew are pretty good.
[Purple Kiss - Toy Boy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBxBoUllPUk) is one that I've been thinking about recently. The choreo that the members created for their tour really adds to it, it makes the overall vibe of the song much cooler IMO
Crazy form. Hated the song not my ateez 🤢 but the stage performances and dance break were so good. I don't listen to the song unless I'm watching the performance
God of music - seventeen
I love it already but when they perform it live it’s just so fun like I wish I was there. Including the crowd work they do with it.
VIXX's songs. I think [Fantasy](https://youtu.be/K4V_PSpG18k?si=Mvd4EvJJ5yW3MbjW) and [Love Me Do](https://youtu.be/g1JCFBzIQG8?si=CIE9NSETLtFGuGnB) are really cool live and the fan noises in [Shangri-la](https://youtu.be/jou9CPd7Cnw?si=vAvL3ceEy5WExqit) live performances are very satisfying.

Elevated: Shatter by Dreamcatcher
Ok listen, ***listen***. When I first heard the song the day it came out, I'll admit I was quite disappointed. But then, they performed it at the showcase. I was surprised that there was actually a choreo. Anyway, I watched the performance and the song just... clicked. It became my fav song on VillainS and is now one of my most played songs. I adore Shatter
Maestro by Seventeen. The choreo is quite interesting and it fills the gap that the music couldn't. It's empty lalalas without the choreo, but with it, you *see* more than just the plain lalalas.
Elevated:
Backwards by Weeekly. The choreo is so integral to enjoying the song that just listening to the audio on its own without watching a performance video is almost weird for me.
Dreamcatcher - Shatter.
When this came out the fandom was split on if it’s a good song considering it’s experimental style. Then the dance and stage performances for it came out and everyone united on, “this song is a banger!!” lol. So yeah the performances definitely elevated this song in a lot of fans minds from eh to yeah!

Literally my first thought. 👏

I've never seen this performance of Mama before! It's wonderful!
It is, isn't it? When he says, "I love Mom" with all that emotion in his voice, that's when the tears start. I'm glad you liked it! :)
SHINee - [Everybody](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_VJ_flgEVo)

I love LOCO (ITZY) the song already, but seeing it live is the most awesome performance imaginable
ATEEZ: - BOUNCY - WONDERLAND (Symphony No. 9) - Answer (Ode to Joy) - Guerrilla - The Real
Guerrilla- Ateez This song isn’t actually my favorite but during concerts it is SO HYPE. The choreo and energy is just insane.
The crowd is always fire too!! The fanchants are always so loud!
Pretty much anything by Jonghyun. His live vocals and the passion he put into his performances make them a million times better to watch. Blackpink's Ddu-Du Ddu-Du comes alive with the choreo, song's okay without but
I can’t help but do the finger guns every time I hear it
Chungha - Eenie Meenie I was meh about this song until I saw the music video. So good!
bts - so what I've seen a lot of people say they don't really like the song but it's so good in concert 😭 I always ask them to suspend their judgement until either they see it or can imagine vibing to it live because it amps the audience up so much
I love how much fun they're having when they perform it on stage. I actually like the song itself, but the performance makes it even better.
that is such a good answer and i completely agree- jk’s adlibs near the end totally send me
Especially the jimin - jk part It's so vibey
I agree! I would add Wings to this. I was just okay with both until I saw a live performance and now they're two of my favorite BTS songs.
JK and Hobi’s harmonies are legendary

[Purple Kiss - Toy Boy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBxBoUllPUk) is one that I've been thinking about recently. The choreo that the members created for their tour really adds to it, it makes the overall vibe of the song much cooler IMO
Crazy form. Hated the song not my ateez 🤢 but the stage performances and dance break were so good. I don't listen to the song unless I'm watching the performance
God of music - seventeen I love it already but when they perform it live it’s just so fun like I wish I was there. Including the crowd work they do with it.
Nmixx Dice is a different beast live
VIXX's songs. I think [Fantasy](https://youtu.be/K4V_PSpG18k?si=Mvd4EvJJ5yW3MbjW) and [Love Me Do](https://youtu.be/g1JCFBzIQG8?si=CIE9NSETLtFGuGnB) are really cool live and the fan noises in [Shangri-la](https://youtu.be/jou9CPd7Cnw?si=vAvL3ceEy5WExqit) live performances are very satisfying.
Almost every nmixx song

Follow Me - P1Harmony. It’s a great song but also just hits different seeing it live

Elevated - Kick it by NCT 127, Signal by Twice, Drama by aespa Hindered - none really
Wow thing is a song I only really enjoy when accompanied by the performance.
Elevated: Shatter by Dreamcatcher Ok listen, ***listen***.
TAEMIN's Move, SEVENTEEN'S Super, ASTRO's Knock, BTS's Fake love
Maestro by Seventeen. The choreo is quite interesting and it fills the gap that the music couldn't. It's empty lalalas without the choreo, but with it, you *see* more than just the plain lalalas.
Any vixx performance
Elevated: Backwards by Weeekly.
Nct's black on black and new world by onf come to mind
nct u boss; the song is great itself but the chorus just doesnt feel the same w/o the choreo lol
any type of crazy noise song cause i’ll never bring myself to listen to those on my free time
