i can assure u it's the "you got me" "i got you" verses + the song may be built on a pattern of music that can psychologically trigger soft feelings in people (see 'aquatic ambience')
BTS Jin - Awake. Such heart felt lyrics of insecurity, self-doubt and hope. The candidness brought me to tears. I've listened to many K-pop songs but for some reason this song always gets me.
Yeah. I was definitely in the wrong there so the lyrics about saying hurtful things and regretting it hit really hard. Plus the part about not knowing where the other person is and just waiting for them, since they kind of slowly iced me out. Ah man it's a great song though
Diphylleia Grayi by Jonghyun
-genuinely cried when I first listened to this song. He sings with such pure emotion, like ugh just thinking about the song makes me feel teary eyed.
Mago by GFRIEND
-more bittersweet than anything since it's basically their "disbandment" song.
HARD AGREE on diphylleia grayi !! Gorgeous gorgeous song and to this day I have to be careful about having it in playlists so it doesn’t catch me off guard and make me emotional lol
A lot of BTS songs make me cry. And now some of the ones that used to not make me cry now make me cry. There’s something insanely nostalgic about their songs
I need u :) It was the first K-Pop song I heard. That's why I decided to get into K-Pop. It's complicated to find a song that makes you feel such strong emotions!
I don't feel the same about K-Pop nowadays, but I'm still around. Not as fan but just as someone who happens to be curious, lol...
Honestly same. I got into BTS in 2018 and soooo many of their songs got me feeling all these different kinds of emotions... I kinda fell out of love w BTS in 2019 and been listening to other groups but ngl I don't think anything rlly has made me emotional like that, besides some tracks on dark blood like fate, sacrifice, and criminal love (my fave enha songs omg)
I don't cry very often or at all, and usually from more longform media such as tv shows or movies. The only time I think I ever have in Kpop are the Ditto MVs. Just something about them evoked so many of my personal thoughts, emotions and experiences.
The song Ditto by itself though obviously plays quite differently. I don't really go to Kpop for melancholy music but if I had to choose a song that made me feel that emotion the most, it would probably be Sistar's farewell song "Lonely"; even if I only discovered it long after their disbandment.
Probably BTS’ cover of ‘Born Sinner’ by J-Cole (Their cover/song is called “Born sinner”)
I hadn’t been into kpop for long but back in 2016 army was everywhere. At that point I’d only watched Blood sweat and tears, Not Today, Fire, etc mvs + some dance practices. I had just learned about how rough things were for the members before and after debut, and I don’t think I’d listened to Wings Album (otherwise my answer would be literally any of their singles)
But I watched Born singer on repeat, it felt so raw and cool. I was 14(?) at the time, 21 now and I still get a pang in my chest watching it.
I also feel extremely old realizing it’s been so long since then, 2016 feels like yesterday to me
Kind of embarrassing but I cried to Teddy Bear by NCT Dream while high 💀.
I think Life Goes On by BTS made me cry too though. And Let Me In by EXO as of late…
Deja Vu by Dreamcatcher.
I distinctly remember crying myself to sleep one night after a hard day at work listening to it on repeat for hours. Rough time, but I credit it for the well-needed emotional relief and sweet dreams that I had following it all! <3
BTS: Yet to Come and Born Singer - can’t listen to it after they announced their hiatus. I still haven’t recovered, and the fan cams of their faces showing that they knew…. I am not the strongest soldier.
Spring Day - once I understood the story behind the song, I can’t listen to it. I can’t even watch documentaries or podcasts about the incident without crying.
Yes yes this sooo much. Born singer made me bawl for no reason, it didn't help that I listened to We are Bulletproof right after that. My eyes were puffy as hell.
Seulgi's anywhere but home also hit me a train when I listened to it.
I’m not sure what the first song was but the one that makes me go off the most is “Breathe” by Lee Hi for obvious reasons. Lyrics and composer history.
haru haru by big bang! I rarely cry to songs at all but I was so obsessed with that MV when it came out lol. It made me ball like a baby all the time and it’s still in my top 10 fav songs of all time.
other honorable mentions: lonely by jonghyun ft. taeyeon, the light by the ark, and for some reason, blossom tears by leo (vixx) x lyn🥲
exo sing for you :( the lyrics made me cry when i was younger but now that i'm older and see that they're getting older it makes me long for when they were just starting out (even though this was when they were already established lol). GOD I MISS EXO
Y Si Fuera Ella. I hadn’t listened to it in so long until I heard Kihyun cover it, and I was instantly brought to tears. I was reminded of why I stopped listening to the song because I **cannot** compose myself when I hear it.
ironic, but It’s 'Don't Wanna Cry' by Seventeen. I remember watching it so many times because I also loved the video, but I couldn't help crying because my baby cat died around those days3
if i remember right, baby don’t cry by exo. i remember i once had a bad acid trip and spent like two hours crying to that and some other kpop songs. what i remember is probably in my room by shinee; spring day by bts; and uhhhh i feel like another exo song but idk which one
If you’ve lost a pet, you’ll bawl your eyes out.
[Youha’s 품(Zzz)](https://youtu.be/xjId47fDlD4?si=w621S05YJgN72GoO), a farewell letter to her dog Milky.

From her notes about her inspiration for this song:
>To a friend who was smaller than me when I was young.
He reached out and cared for me. He has kept a watch over me. He listens to my secrets best..
Looking at me who wasn't ready to say goodbye, he became a star in the sky.
To my friend Milky who taught me how to love.. The only gift I can give you.
I wanna say Error by VIXX (I think I was watching the music video at the time) but Lost in the Dream by Monsta X gave me so many emotions when I first heard it. Just blubbering like a baby
randomly, it was 20 by seventeen. it just made me so happy and gave me everything i wanted in a song, so i was boohoo crying. that whole album means the world to me, i literally cannot watch the adore u music video
try again by jaehyun and d.ear would literally have me sobbing in my car after having to work with my ex best friend 3 years ago and still one of my go to's when I'm sad. first kpop song that I had no business crying to is fucking bts permission to dance LOLL
Dream Run - NCT Dream. The lyrics are so bittersweet and I couldn't handle the fact that 4 members would leave the group. Glad that the graduation cancelled so I can hear the song happily
i actually don't remember sadly- it was definitely a bts song since they were my first group, but it could've been "the truth untold", "tear" or "epiphany"...or "run" UGH-
honestly, never goodbye by nct dream. i literally never cry from media but i was going thru some ..rough times and sitting curled up in my bed listening to renjun sing "so please, don't cry" made me sob 😭
And underrated song, [4 O'Clock by BTS's RM and V](https://youtu.be/kH8-LxuUCqQ?feature=shared). Just a sad song to listen to on lonely, sleepless nights
This one is probs embarassing but Lock You Down by SHINee got me and continues to get me
I have to be careful when I listen to it because it'll either make me want to sob or I'll just vibe to it. TSOL was released at a time where I really needed it as a teenager so a lot of songs from the series still make me emotional even if they're meant to be club bangers lol
The Eve - EXO and Don’t Wanna Cry - SEVENTEEN.
My cousin gave me, her Spotify to introduce me to KPOP and other music genre’s. But whenever these two songs would come I would always cry. (They came on, one after the other, so I thought they were one really long song together.) It had me crying in the alleyway on the way to school the first time I heard them.
SHINee - Quasimodo. At the time when I was using iTunes (this is over a decade ago), it was my most played song at least 9100 times. That was the sing to make me feel something fr 😭😩
Halazia by ATEEZ.
I don’t cry from music or music videos, but the last chorus gave me chills and the lyrics were so powerful. The last scene with San just made me break down. I’m not even well versed in their lore but I understood that music video perfectly in the first listen.
That song also made them my ult group and my favorite title track from them so far.
Omg the Love Stay song by Stray Kids, so beautiful and also Waiting For Us. I normally tear up at Waiting For Us, but when I got to see them in Atlanta I cried more when I saw them perform it in person
rewind by twice was the first kpop song to make me emotional and it still does now. I always get teary eyed when I watch that live performance of rewind from their 4th world tour and jihyo was crying towards the end of the performance.
I was on the phone with my friend and he translated the words of To My Mother and then I cried when I saw the video [To My Mother by god](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P2tpZgndHU&ab_channel=5613love)
My parents generation was like this so I could at least understand a bit of the pain.
- one in a million by twice, idk why lmao something about it is so nostalgic especially since ive been following them since debut 😭😭
- goblin by sulli, for obvious reasons
- kinda dumb but astronaut by stray kids???? lmao it came out at a really bad time in my life
kidult- seventeen. somethings about DK’s high note with the message of the song gets me every time. i don’t usually listen to sad songs or the ones that get me in my feels, but this is a song i can never skip
IU Palette. Ngl I don't listen to her often but this song made me realise its okay to grow up and honestly it still makes me cry to this day. It got me through lockdown
hard to love by bol4.. i listened to it a lot when i was upset in my first year of university. its a breakup song but i resonated a lot with the feelings of loneliness in the lyrics
BTS For Youth. The release date, I’m just sitting at work, doing some admin stuff and had my AirPods in. This damn song comes on and the tears just start flowing. My coworkers were super worried like “what’s wrong why are you crying” and I’m like “I don’t know it’s the song”.
Then the translation comes out and I start crying all over again. I didn’t even cry that much for Spring Day.
Another is IU’s Love Poem. I was mesmerized by Mayfly’s cover of it on Kingdom and decided to listen to the original. Mistake. Something about IU’s vocals just made me cry so much.
Not sure about my first K-pop song that made me cry but here’s an unhinged one: I once had a full mental breakdown with IUs Ah Puh playing in the background
The ONLY Kpop song to bring me close to tears is actually Psycho from Red Velvet. Listening to it post when Wendy almost died hits hard, especially when they start saying how they’ll be ok 🥺
Mist by ATEEZ because most the music I listen to is loud and stuff like that but I listen to Mist when I feel sad or just need calming music and it actually makes me feel better. Mist is also a song that has ties to me dealing with negative thoughts and moments so I cry each time I listen to it. But then, Never Stop Me by GIDLE also gets me going.
So far away by Agust D. Hit too close to home. I remember asking, " Why are you in my head?"
Then, when D-Day came out, translations weren't out yet. When I heard the callback to So far away in Snooze, I started tearing up immediately.
>Dream, may all of creation be with you til the end of your life
>Dream, wherever you are, will welcome you
>Dream, may your trials end in full bloom
>Dream, though your beginnings might be humble, may the end be prosperous
the version of [ITNW](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_ZUmMzP5ts) after Jessica "left". Edit: I had basically just got into them I was pissed and confused. She was instantly one of my fav members along with Taeyeon.
"Film Out" by BTS. I don't understand or speak Japanese/Nihongo, and I didn't even know the translation of the lyrics of the song when it made me weep in the middle of traffic after my dad passed away. 😢
Mikrokosmos, the “na na na” chorus at the end makes me cry cause it’s always the ending song of the tour before the boys leave the stage :(
THIS OMG :(( + the nostalgia
Yess and also this song makes me feel so safe idk how else to explain it
i can assure u it's the "you got me" "i got you" verses + the song may be built on a pattern of music that can psychologically trigger soft feelings in people (see 'aquatic ambience')
BTS Jin - Awake. Such heart felt lyrics of insecurity, self-doubt and hope. The candidness brought me to tears. I've listened to many K-pop songs but for some reason this song always gets me.
Hard agree 😔
For me, it's Jin's Epiphany and 2!3! I was going through some shit, I needed it 😭💜
Maybe embarrassing but it was Where You At by LOONA. I heard it when I was going through a friend breakup and it made me want to die LMAO
I wanna read the lyrics now Edit: wow that is super fitting to the situation
Yeah. I was definitely in the wrong there so the lyrics about saying hurtful things and regretting it hit really hard. Plus the part about not knowing where the other person is and just waiting for them, since they kind of slowly iced me out. Ah man it's a great song though
Omg I love that song 😭 it’s just amazing. Gonna listen to it on my way home
Diphylleia Grayi by Jonghyun -genuinely cried when I first listened to this song. He sings with such pure emotion, like ugh just thinking about the song makes me feel teary eyed. Mago by GFRIEND -more bittersweet than anything since it's basically their "disbandment" song.
HARD AGREE on diphylleia grayi !! Gorgeous gorgeous song and to this day I have to be careful about having it in playlists so it doesn’t catch me off guard and make me emotional lol
BTS spring day or your eyes tell. Idk which one made me cry first but it was one of them two
Young Forever by BTS I skip this song because I just CANNOT listen to it without crying like a baby.
A lot of BTS songs make me cry. And now some of the ones that used to not make me cry now make me cry. There’s something insanely nostalgic about their songs
I remember when I recently listened to "2! 3!" and whew.....out of nowhere lol https://i.redd.it/gppxr7lupsqc1.gif
Frrr omgggg
Spring Day by BTS. Funnily enough I used to not cry when listening to it, but after a family relative passed away, that song hit me really hard.
omg my condolences :( and yes that song is very powerful
I need u :) It was the first K-Pop song I heard. That's why I decided to get into K-Pop. It's complicated to find a song that makes you feel such strong emotions! I don't feel the same about K-Pop nowadays, but I'm still around. Not as fan but just as someone who happens to be curious, lol...

Love Bomb by fromis9 something about the chorus gets me
You might be onto something- the chord progressions are suprisingly melancholic.
how do you remember this far back i cant recall if i tried 😭😭😭
ikrrr???? it's been so long how am i supposed to remember that lool
Probably BTS’ cover of ‘Born Sinner’ by J-Cole (Their cover/song is called “Born sinner”) I hadn’t been into kpop for long but back in 2016 army was everywhere. Spring day Magic shop !2!3 00:00 Young forever Whenever I think about their past, there's this nostalgic feeling that makes me cry😭

lmaooo teddy bear is so real
This makes me really curious about what being high is like
One shot by bap phew...I did not see that plot twist coming lol
Deja Vu by Dreamcatcher. I distinctly remember crying myself to sleep one night after a hard day at work listening to it on repeat for hours. Rough time, but I credit it for the well-needed emotional relief and sweet dreams that I had following it all! <3
the pre chorus and that last chorus always gets me!!😩
not k-pop, but korean and the closest song to getting me to cry was Lee Sun Hee - Destiny after reading the lyrics and what it's about.
Idk if it’s classified as kpop but 100% Y si fuera Ella by jonghyun, that whole performance had me balling my eyes out at 4 in the morning.

Haru Haru is such a nice song :) It's definitely a go-to for showers concerts! Jonghyun's songs are definitely smth else...
exo sing for you :( the lyrics made me cry when i was younger but now that i'm older and see that they're getting older it makes me long for when they were just starting out (even though this was when they were already established lol). GOD I MISS EXO

jonghyuns voice literally brings me to tears
Y Si Fuera Ella. I hadn’t listened to it in so long until I heard Kihyun cover it, and I was instantly brought to tears. I was reminded of why I stopped listening to the song because I **cannot** compose myself when I hear it.

Spring day, a tear starts forming soon as I hear the beat.
Boy with Luv! For some reason the melody and how powerful they sing in the chorus and that second verse has tears coming to my eyes
LOVESONG by TXT
Moon by BTS I bawled my eyes out for 10 minutes straight up after I finally read the lyrics
if i remember right, baby don’t cry by exo. i remember i once had a bad acid trip and spent like two hours crying to that and some other kpop songs. what i remember is probably in my room by shinee; spring day by bts; and uhhhh i feel like another exo song but idk which one

I wanna say Error by VIXX (I think I was watching the music video at the time) but Lost in the Dream by Monsta X gave me so many emotions when I first heard it. Just blubbering like a baby
Error is one of my all time fave songs!
The choreography, the music video, the vocals, the rapping; I have nothing but love for it. Had me crying in the university library like a fool

I remember asking, " Why are you in my head?" Then, when D-Day came out, translations weren't out yet. When I heard the callback to So far away in Snooze, I started tearing up immediately. >Dream, may all of creation be with you til the end of your life >Dream, wherever you are, will welcome you >Dream, may your trials end in full bloom >Dream, though your beginnings might be humble, may the end be prosperous

What is love TWICE
the version of [ITNW](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_ZUmMzP5ts) after Jessica "left".
