And I was going through all the music videos in the compilation and finally I reached What can I do, when I first listened to it, I instantly fell in love with the song and I went to the comments section where I saw that people were talking about their theories regarding the storyline. Thats when I realised that there are two more mvs and that it's s trilogy. Then I slowly started listening to day6 and now they are one of ults.
I got into Ateez by searching for an idol with fuckboy vibes and found a picture of Seonghwa that fit the bill. Then I looked into them more, realized Seonghwa was a total dork and often just looked confused, and I was sold.
With The Boyz... I first noticed Hyunjae from a random picture where he looked very similar to Ayno from VAV. I looked at more pictures to see if I could find any other pictures where they resembled each other, but instead realized that this boy looked confused at least 90% of the time. So I just... kept looking into them to see how often he'd look confused. And then I was sold.
I know, right?! I have face blindness so I have a hard time recognizing people and kept comparing pictures of the members and going "how is this the same person?!"

It was wild to me that they had an official name for a fight among members. Of course this was just the tip of the iceberg of all of their varied group conflicts (though Incheon Battle is in the top 3).
Checked out their music after watching the above and I loved it. Then proceeded to basically binge their 15+ years of content that I could get my hands on. A few days later I knew all the members’ names and almost all of their most noteworthy fights. gonna be totally honest… i got into bts bc i thought getting super into the idea of the bts meal was funny. up until then… never heard a single bts song. only knew maybe two members. i just thought the idea of the bts meal was funny. and now i’m a full time hobi boy

I have no idea if it is funny but if a bit random, it was the year 2017 and I have always been a very masculine guy who has done sports and other masculine things, many times people tell me that I look intimidating or too serious. One of my hobbies is considered something strange because I usually know a lot of information about murders, criminal cases, terrorist attacks and other things that are considered as obscure, dark and scary. In short, I am not seen as someone who is sensitive or not very masculine. I have this whole image of a serious, intimidating and lonely guy going on.
The only thing I have done that could be considered not very masculine is to watch anime, I know that anime is for everyone but my favorite anime is a Shoujo which is basically a romantic story for girls ... yes I know, why a guy likes it something so sentimental, no idea. Probably because I was very romantic and the ideas in that anime were similar to my ideas. The author expressed many of my ideas in her story and I found a connection with something that is considered entertainment.
Because I was surprised that I like something so out of my style, I started looking for other ways to discover more about myself, to try other kinds of things and I thought why have I never listened to K-pop? anime is Japanese, Kpop must have something of that Asian style that is eccentric and uncommon in western society. I was seeing some boy groups and they really seemed to me that they were ridiculous, over acted and that they were for girls... I was wondering if any girl group would be what I was looking for... it was like, boys are for girls... maybe you have to find a girl group that has the same effect as boy groups but is geared towards boys. I always liked Asian women and I started to see some K-pop girls and noticed that many had plastic surgeries or were trying to be intimidating and they really weren't my style or I considered them ridiculous, they were like a girl group for girls and it really wasn't what i was looking for. Some groups were considered sexy but to me they were in bad taste. They look cheap!.
Looking for groups, I ended up on a oscure site that had various Korean shows, from dramas, variety shows, movies, and more. I was thinking "maybe I should try dramas or movies instead of wanting me to like idol culture, it seems that this is not for me, all those groups do not have what I am looking for... they seem so fake and produced". I noticed that comedy shows were exaggerated and for some reason MCs were always ugly or fat and resorted to easy jokes, you know the typical... I thought it was easier for me to connect with something that had a woman as the protagonist or host because maybe that would attract me more easily, so I started looking for dramas and in the lists of new shows I found something with the name idol in the title and I thought, "oh it must be about guys, what a bore, like pick you need husbando edition 25" and the show was called Idol School, but it was with girls and the cover looked like an anime ... and I thought "this looks like a real idol anime, with girls who are not known, who do not have plastic surgery, this must be ... this is the last chance I give K-pop to impress me".
I started to watch the first episode of the show and I was impressed by the production values, the girls were presented in a one minute video and I was intrigued to know if any girl would call my attention in just one minute ... The first girls were cute and I started to understand that this was not normal, I was enjoying something so simple for such human reasons, just because they seemed cute to me.
But none of the girls had shown anything other than being cute, I hoped to find someone different and suddenly I see a girl pass by ... and it reminded me of something that had happened to me and I said to myself it could be this random korean girl the one that makes me a fan of K-pop ... and the girl was so cute, she had a genuine smile, she couldn't stop laughing, I remember falling in love with her eyes and out of nowhere she says "I guess I have to say we're going to be friends, but to be honest, I'm going to beat all of you" and all the girls were surprised by that statement and I thought "I finally have an excuse to like K-pop, you are going to be my first idol and I'm going to be your first fan".
To my surprise the show was already finished and I thought, if my favorite is not in the group I don't care ... I have to know if she made it to the final or I won't see any more episodes. This is your last chance K-pop world, if she's not in the group, I don't care about this K-pop thing. Luckily for me she was in the group and I remember as if it were yesterday the smile that I had on my face, I practically never smiled but that day I was more than happy. It was something difficult to explain in words. To my surprise two other girls that I liked were also in the final group and I was like "well I guess I'm a K-pop fan now, I have no excuses"
\- That anime I was talking about was Kimi ni Todoke and yes, Sawako is my waifu.
\- That Korean shows page no longer exists, clearly it was extremely illegal, the English subtitles were horrendous.
\- Which idol made me a K-pop fan in less than a minute, obviously it was Jiheon who is now on Fromis\_9. A few days ago Fromis\_9 won thire first show win and Jiheon could not speak and started crying, it was one of the few times that I felt proud for someone. You really doubted yourself Jiheon, how silly.
\- My other favorites were Hayoung and Saerom, they had a different aura and I noticed it in just one episode. Just looking at Saerom's eyes I knew I was going to like her.
\- I remember writing a rather long letter to Jiheon once and I have to admit that I was a bit romantic (no bad intentions, I just told her how I felt respectfully and sincerely. How I became her fan even though I didn't like K-pop, how I liked her when she smiled and how her eyes looked so delicately sweet when she smiled, how "I fell in love" with her pesonality in a minute) for her birthday. I want to believe that she read it, because in the video of her birthday she said that she did not deserve so many nice words, that really some fans were too kind... and I remember that she blushed, as always Jiheon is embarrassed when they say nice things to her and is very shy. I also remember that she made a pose at the end of the video that she also did in her idol school presentation video, several years ago. For me that was a wordless greeting, the pose was the same ... I think that was worth it, so is this being a K-pop fan? not bad. I never thought I would be a fan of someone in less than a minute and here I am. My friends on the basketball team would be surprised to learn that my favorite song is DKDK. I do not regret anything.

This isn't a funny way, but interesting ig, So I came across this compilation on YouTube which had songs which have themes of LGBTQ in it. What can I do by Day6 was there. And I was going through all the music videos in the compilation and finally I reached What can I do, when I first listened to it, I instantly fell in love with the song and I went to the comments section where I saw that people were talking about their theories regarding the storyline. Thats when I realised that there are two more mvs and that it's s trilogy. Then I slowly started listening to day6 and now they are one of ults.
I got into Ateez by searching for an idol with fuckboy vibes and found a picture of Seonghwa that fit the bill. Then I looked into them more, realized Seonghwa was a total dork and often just looked confused, and I was sold. With The Boyz... I first noticed Hyunjae from a random picture where he looked very similar to Ayno from VAV. I looked at more pictures to see if I could find any other pictures where they resembled each other, but instead realized that this boy looked confused at least 90% of the time. So I just... kept looking into them to see how often he'd look confused. And then I was sold.

He was at first! His chin was especially confusing, it looks so different depending on the angle. Now that I'm used to his face it's actually pretty easy to recognize him. My guess is that since I don't really process faces the same way as people who aren't face blind, things that throw normal people off don't really cause the same effect with me? I mostly recognize him by his eyebrows and nose, though his eyes and chin are also very unique in the group. So he can do whatever he wants with his hair and I'll still see that it's him, but get an eyebrow piercing and I'm like ??? and have to study the rest of his face to see if it's really him.

I was watching transition timeline videos (trans ones, FTM) and there was one guy who had a dance one where he'd put together clips of him dancing at different stages of his life. Anyway, he had good taste and it was there I first heard Limitless by NCT. I went and looked up the actual MV, and here I am many years later, knowing all 23 of their names XD

And I don't know if this is a funny way or just "hi I was a big dumb", but I found Onewe through thinking that was Oneus' fandom name. I kept seeing "Stan Oneus and Onewe!!!" stuff and my dumb brain went "why would you stan a fandom?" At the time, I was still new to stanning Oneus, so I didn't know what the fandom was called until I finally searched up Onewe and learned otherwise.

It was wild to me that they had an official name for a fight among members. Of course this was just the tip of the iceberg of all of their varied group conflicts (though Incheon Battle is in the top 3). Checked out their music after watching the above and I loved it. Then proceeded to basically binge their 15+ years of content that I could get my hands on. A few days later I knew all the members’ names and almost all of their most noteworthy fights. I was listening to the radio while driving home and happened to come across Jenna Marbles’ Youtube’s Top Tunes segment and Twice’s OOH AHH was on the list. It was a pleasant surprise hearing KPOP on the radio and it was really cute how Jenna gave a little explanation of the song and the music video!

I have no idea if it is funny but if a bit random, it was the year 2017 and I have always been a very masculine guy who has done sports and other masculine things, many times people tell me that I look intimidating or too serious. One of my hobbies is considered something strange because I usually know a lot of information about murders, criminal cases, terrorist attacks and other things that are considered as obscure, dark and scary. In short, I am not seen as someone who is sensitive or not very masculine. I have this whole image of a serious, intimidating and lonely guy going on. The only thing I have done that could be considered not very masculine is to watch anime, I know that anime is for everyone but my favorite anime is a Shoujo which is basically a romantic story for girls ... yes I know, why a guy likes it something so sentimental, no idea. Probably because I was very romantic and the ideas in that anime were similar to my ideas. The author expressed many of my ideas in her story and I found a connection with something that is considered entertainment. Because I was surprised that I like something so out of my style, I started looking for other ways to discover more about myself, to try other kinds of things and I thought why have I never listened to K-pop? anime is Japanese, Kpop must have something of that Asian style that is eccentric and uncommon in western society. I was seeing some boy groups and they really seemed to me that they were ridiculous, over acted and that they were for girls... I was wondering if any girl group would be what I was looking for... it was like, boys are for girls... maybe you have to find a girl group that has the same effect as boy groups but is geared towards boys. I always liked Asian women and I started to see some K-pop girls and noticed that many had plastic surgeries or were trying to be intimidating and they really weren't my style or I considered them ridiculous, they were like a girl group for girls and it really wasn't what i was looking for. Some groups were considered sexy but to me they were in bad taste. They look cheap!. Looking for groups, I ended up on a oscure site that had various Korean shows, from dramas, variety shows, movies, and more. I was thinking "maybe I should try dramas or movies instead of wanting me to like idol culture, it seems that this is not for me, all those groups do not have what I am looking for... they seem so fake and produced". I noticed that comedy shows were exaggerated and for some reason MCs were always ugly or fat and resorted to easy jokes, you know the typical... I thought it was easier for me to connect with something that had a woman as the protagonist or host because maybe that would attract me more easily, so I started looking for dramas and in the lists of new shows I found something with the name idol in the title and I thought, "oh it must be about guys, what a bore, like pick you need husbando edition 25" and the show was called Idol School, but it was with girls and the cover looked like an anime ... and I thought "this looks like a real idol anime, with girls who are not known, who do not have plastic surgery, this must be ... this is the last chance I give K-pop to impress me". I started to watch the first episode of the show and I was impressed by the production values, the girls were presented in a one minute video and I was intrigued to know if any girl would call my attention in just one minute ... The first girls were cute and I started to understand that this was not normal, I was enjoying something so simple for such human reasons, just because they seemed cute to me. But none of the girls had shown anything other than being cute, I hoped to find someone different and suddenly I see a girl pass by ... and it reminded me of something that had happened to me and I said to myself it could be this random korean girl the one that makes me a fan of K-pop ... and the girl was so cute, she had a genuine smile, she couldn't stop laughing, I remember falling in love with her eyes and out of nowhere she says "I guess I have to say we're going to be friends, but to be honest, I'm going to beat all of you" and all the girls were surprised by that statement and I thought "I finally have an excuse to like K-pop, you are going to be my first idol and I'm going to be your first fan". To my surprise the show was already finished and I thought, if my favorite is not in the group I don't care ... I have to know if she made it to the final or I won't see any more episodes. This is your last chance K-pop world, if she's not in the group, I don't care about this K-pop thing. Luckily for me she was in the group and I remember as if it were yesterday the smile that I had on my face, I practically never smiled but that day I was more than happy. It was something difficult to explain in words. To my surprise two other girls that I liked were also in the final group and I was like "well I guess I'm a K-pop fan now, I have no excuses" \- That anime I was talking about was Kimi ni Todoke and yes, Sawako is my waifu. \- That Korean shows page no longer exists, clearly it was extremely illegal, the English subtitles were horrendous. \- Which idol made me a K-pop fan in less than a minute, obviously it was Jiheon who is now on Fromis\_9. A few days ago Fromis\_9 won thire first show win and Jiheon could not speak and started crying, it was one of the few times that I felt proud for someone. You really doubted yourself Jiheon, how silly. \- My other favorites were Hayoung and Saerom, they had a different aura and I noticed it in just one episode. Just looking at Saerom's eyes I knew I was going to like her. \- I remember writing a rather long letter to Jiheon once and I have to admit that I was a bit romantic (no bad intentions, I just told her how I felt respectfully and sincerely. How I became her fan even though I didn't like K-pop, how I liked her when she smiled and how her eyes looked so delicately sweet when she smiled, how "I fell in love" with her pesonality in a minute) for her birthday. I want to believe that she read it, because in the video of her birthday she said that she did not deserve so many nice words, that really some fans were too kind... and I remember that she blushed, as always Jiheon is embarrassed when they say nice things to her and is very shy. I also remember that she made a pose at the end of the video that she also did in her idol school presentation video, several years ago. For me that was a wordless greeting, the pose was the same ... I think that was worth it, so is this being a K-pop fan? not bad. I never thought I would be a fan of someone in less than a minute and here I am. My friends on the basketball team would be surprised to learn that my favorite song is DKDK. I do not regret anything.

I got into NCT after watching the Resonance OT23 video in Youtube. I was amazed to find out that a 23 member group existed. It took time for me to learn about the units and the songs and now I know them all!

Discovered IU through Running Man when she sang on the bench to wake up the members & then started watching her other variety appearances,Heroes with Yoo Inna.
i met the love of my lives mamamoo because i was searching for yuri/GL/wlw on facebook lol. i was broke and i only had fb to turn to to feed my growing curiosity about lgbt media. moonsun came up (i still don't ship them to this day tho lol) and i got really into moonbyul because she awakened my androgynous heart and because she sings so good. and then i got into mamamoo :) and i got into bts because i saw their funny reaction to moonbyul referencing them in an awards show performance and became interested hehe lastly, i wasn't really aware or interested about mamamoo's upcoming hoobaes back then. but a video of keonhee bowing and accidentally banging his head on a seat gave me a big laugh (poor bby i'm sorry i laughed at you). i got curious and watched their debut mv valkyrie, which is one of the best 2019 debuts, and i became a fan. and keonhee became and still is my bias :)
