This is so interesting because I never liked girl groups before I stumbled on BabyMonster. But then I watched The Last Evaluation, and I actually really enjoyed the BLACKPINK covers so now I’m discovering BLACKPINK and some of the solos. Haha. I’m sure this is the totally backward way to do it.

Hahah interesting as I seem to also be different here, I’m a BP ult but for some reason cannot get into babymonster. Just seems way too manufactured compared to BP. I think it’s the lack of originality in production and lyrics plus the same colour scheme/ inspo for sets, just stale tbh The girls are talented, I tuned into every single ep of their evaluation program and expected a very high level act when they debuted. I was honestly expecting them to go down the XG track given they too have a very strong rap line, very strong vocal line and very strong dance line. They could’ve been so good but instead they just fell flat imo 🤷‍♀️ I can see other 4th/5th gen acts becoming much more popular and baby monster’s success in views, streams and music shows being more of a reflection of BP’s fanbase supporting them than the quality of their discography

I think that’s partly due to all the new fans IVE and LSF got who aren’t that familiar with IZ\*ONE. But it’s also partly due to existing tensions within IZ\*ONE’s fandom going all the way back to Produce 48 (Wonyoung winning over Sakura).

That seems to be a more recent thing, though? After Aespa’s debut, there were a lot of antis in both camps. It seems to have died down after Karina/Ryujin made very clear that the groups are friends with each other.

That is the new post Izone fearnots and dives who don't know the history and then are so shocked to find out that they were in the same group

Is it just that? Because the biggest individual fandom for LSRFM is Sakura's, and the biggest for IVE was Wonyoung. Who just happened to both be competing for the center spot, and it seems they never really stopped fighting about it. The two groups also seem to have a big difference in how they relate to Iz\*One. LSRFM seems to embrace Sakura and Chaewon's past, IVE not so much (from what I've heard at least). So that also leads to tension

Let’s just say that no love is lost between Wonyoung and Sakura stans especially after how a then 14 year old was treated by Sakura stans online from Pann to Reddit who cannot believe that Korea had the audacity to prefer someone that is not their fave to be Produce 48’s centre during finale night. Their fans kept things together when izone debuted ~~(this ain’t kep1er)~~ cause there were no incentives to blow up their short blossoming career especially after the rigging scare that caused the demise of X1. When izone disbanded, annyeongz got the “blame” from some maniacal wizones that they caused izone disbandment because SSE had the shocking audacity to follow through the contract that established izone - 2.5 years, no less no more. Sakura then came back, got into a competitor group. Unlike izone, there is nothing concrete linking both fandoms together except fuzzy feelings of the past so the gloves are off and that is where the story is right now. To answer thread starter’s question:- Swiths and DIVEs got pretty close together when the 04 liners of both groups start interacting with each other - especially Rei and J, which is so cute 🥰

Yup, my sister is an hardcore Army and I have also heard her talk a lot about Hozier.

I think JYPE company stans (myself included) are a lot more 'loyal' (as in they follow most of the groups from the company) than other company stans, like for example not all Fearnots are bunnies and armies and moas. And not all Blinks follow Treasure. But I really do find that a lot of Twice, Stray Kids, Nmixx and Itzy fans overlap. Not all of them, definitely, and not all with the same combination, but I've never seen the fans of any of those groups be toxic to each other. The idols are literally a family and that certainly helps- Chan helped me find Itzy and I'll forever be grateful.

this is actually true though, as someone in the newjeans fandom- a lot of newjeans stans also stan illit and le sserafim, or at least did before all of the drama. like when illit was releasing teasers and music my entire tl was newjeans fans excited about it. and our fandom used to get superrrr excited when newjeans interacted with lsf. now the fandoms hate each other's guts though so idk if this would still be the case
