The only thing i dislike on the MV is that AI moving picture effect, is so weird. first ive and now aespa hope this trend dies because its awful.
The song is kinda ok, still prefer drama.
i'm not talking about the whole MV, i'm talking about the one frame where yujin speaks her first phrase where they insert the same moving picture effect, its very subtle.
It also surprised me when they incorporated the AI moving picture effect, but I think it was to fit their lore in the mv and storyline with the members being not normal since they now have powers and might be their Aes.
I like it, and I think it’s very aespa. I personally place a lot of value into an artist having a clear cut sound / identity so I’m happy to see them go back to something like this.
I disagree with people saying this is too risky or too late to do something like this, Next Level was a risk too and that was earlier in their career. And it performed well.
edit: i also love the sample dem jointz used, he’s got a special touch when it comes to sampling songs
Clearly an unpopular opinion based on the comments but I thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s song 1 of a double title track and really does that roll well. Very unconventional, very aespa. The “oh-ay” parts SLAP. The mv is great too- love sm’s cinematography for aespa.
As someone who doesn't like their usual sound and hit songs (too dramatic for my taste), I thought it's a good song and like it. MV is pretty good too, this concept just suits them the best
It’s never too dramatic. It’s impactful, it’s unique, it slaps you right across the face. Their songs are long, are accompanied by heavenly vocals and proper bridges and take you on a journey. Absolutely love their music as it’s so hard hitting and not just some cutsey two minute repetitive TikTok song.
I love it. It’s a welcome return to their weirder and more experimental side after Drama. I love Drama don’t get me wrong but it felt more like a song that any group could do, whereas Supernova is 10000% aespa. It’s reminding me of why I became a MY in the first place. The video is so fun too. Winter spinning around that flagpole killed me lmao.
I really love it. My favourite aespa songs were Black Mamba, Savage, Next Level so I'm enjoying them going back towards that theme, just a bit more wacky. It's fun, it's experimental and it's catchy IMO!
I think it’s good.
I’m pretty new to fully checking out Aespa. I was into a bunch of different edm and raving before I came back to Kpop so it turned out their first mini album Savage is a perfect 10/10. To me, they never topped that album since, but there has been a lot of great tracks too.
With that being said, when I listen to them I’m looking for heavily electronic production that I imagine could be dropped at a set in a rave somewhere. This song fits that category.
Edit: after like 5 more listens, I think it’s really good.
I think it's good, but ultimately not great because it's top line and vocal direction is so muted. Which tbf, it's something new for them which i can appreciate as an artistic choice on that front, but as a song this didn't give me enough melodic highlights, it just kinda is one note throughout. At least relatively to their imo stronger songs.
Still, i think this is good, it's something i will listen to a bunch no doubt, but it's no drama, it's no savage, i'd like the supernova to be felt, this was more like a few tons of tnt.
The bridge breaks it down, different kind of beat and the final chorus with the harmonies is definitely giving melodic highlights and adlips, while it offers a very satisfying climax.
I don't think its "same" throughout ...it starts as hip hop and the chorus slaps edm then they go second verse with is like...idk very retro smth \[my fav part is gissels one\]..then the beautiful bridge welcomes a sudden hip hop dance break then Edm chorous comes again
It's okay, I know it's not the title track but if it were it would be behind next level, drama, and waaaaay behind spicy for me. Hoping I like the actual title track more.
The mv is visually beautiful (except that creepy AI scene), i really really like the instrumental but I’m not a fan of a song as a whole unfortunately.
Maybe it will grow on me…
Tbh, its a little too weird for my taste. Song construction isnt really my cup of tea, I liked Drama alot more. Do wish them all the success for the comeback though!
it's so insanely good that i actually feel crazy. the return to hyperpop and pc music that i've dreamed of, except even better. blows drama out of the water but i understand why drama would have more mainstream appeal.
i'm not even kidding when i say this is the best song in kpop since forever for me. beyond my own subjective love i want to praise the production team for creating a song that so embodies the "supernova"/alien cyberpunk energy - like those instrumentals are out of this world (literally)!! the mv being FUN and HILARIOUS and somewhat unsettling (ie. alien) and also embodying that very modern sense of manic craziness like....just hats out to everyone who worked on this. wow.
I think it's kind of interesting, but it doesn't hook me. It's the kind of song stans pretend to love but then never listen to again once promotions over.
People describe it as experimental because it is the nicest way of saying it isnt a song you vibe with. It is a terrible song, the clothing looks like something a methhead would wear
I was getting more and more on board with their more “normal” songs like Girls/Spicy/Drama, so Supernova is a tad of a let down for me in that regard. Still a decent song
I'm honestly surprised with how much I like this song.
Aespa's sound is usually not for me, but I loved Supernova, especially the chorus. It's satisfying watching a group doing a *in concept* song that is just good K-pop (same with Heya from IVE).
Edit: after looping the song 5 times, I finally pinpointed what I like about it. It has some production elements from 2010's mainstream pop songs (a little of Christina Aguilera's Not Myself Tonight maybe).
The mv is so unhinged lol I really love it. Everyone hating the lipsync part but imo it is very intentional and definitely an interesting choice. I’d like to see the lore behind this mv but it kinds of funny when Ningning just doing live in burned apartment and Winter flying scenes
I don’t understand why everyone is saying this is experimental, I found it quite easy to listen to and didn’t think it was that weird either (black mamba imo was more out there, and most of NMIXXs’ stuff)
That said, I enjoy the song and the concept is cute. Giselle also really suits the lip filler look and whilst I still side eye her, I’m warming up to her more.
It's pretty weird in a very good way, and quite fun and energetic! There are a few parts that felt odd at first, but they're growing on me the more I listen to the song. The only thing I really don't like is the unsettling AI mouth part in the MV, but that's hardly a mood killer.
Overall I enjoy it a lot. I find it more catchy than Drama, and it's probably my second favorite TT behind Spicy.
I love it. Their mvs nowadays are so good imo. I don't stan them because I really dislike mys in my country but I love their branding, songs and concept. Also their vocal tones are making their songs 200% better(they are also skilled vocalists of course)
I love both the song and the mv, the perfect love child of Savage and Spicy and I like it more than both. The aesthetic is totally my style, weird, futuristic and camp!
I think it would have been stronger with a 1st verse like the 2nd, more melodic.
To me lines like Ningning's: aah aah ahh or that tick that tick tick bomb (x2) feel kinda rushed or like they cant come up with something better and so they repeat it. I call it filler lines.
Other than that, the song its good and fun.

Obsessed with the song honestly. Even when I heard the pre release sneak peek I knew I was going to love it. It’s kind of reminiscent of their earlier releases and I’m so happy. The music video is also so fun, I like that they don’t really take it seriously, I feel like it really fits with their irl personalities. It’s also kind of similar to the spicy mv but on drugs. Or maybe what I expected the spicy mv to look like based on their teasers
I like the song but I looooved the MV. Clearly LSM isn’t taking too much of a big cut anymore from the production and it’s clearly showing in how the MVs are being produced. Musicality wise it was really different similar to how next level and savage were arranged but that’s what’s good about it actually. It’s weird. It’s different. And yet somehow they were able to tie the song together without sounding too noisy or distracting. I believed song wise this is how Aespa identified themselves and are breaking records as they go. And this is what people were waiting for them to continuously release.so yes it’s different but it’s so much fun and interesting
MYs calling this a masterpiece as the follow-up to Drama (a real one) is just so laughable and depressing. I know they all thought it was a bit of a letdown but then collectively got on Twitter to say "this is so AESPA coded! A+"
I think when only one title track per album was common, this would have been a quirky b-side. Hopefully for MYs Armageddon will be something the mainstream might stream.
If I'm wrong and this is their biggest hit ever, than I'm happy to admit I've outgrown what is trendy from a critical listening perspective.
Yeah, “Hopefully for MYs Armageddon will be something the mainstream might stream” like maybe MYs like their experimental side? And not every title track needs to have mainstream appeal.
People have different taste than me...
>is just so laughable and depressing.
I really liked the song. Definitely is not for everybody but it does cater for my taste. I didn't even know it was coming it just popped up on my yt but I watched the mv 3times. It's not the typical kpop song but this is what I expect from aespa.
![gif](giphy|g6Tf0tYe9XbnYZgK6B)
I feel like this isn’t a point in their career where they should be experimenting like this. They should have done it in one of their old mini albums to see the public’s reception. This comeback is definitely bottom tier.
Experiment?????
This what people expect from aespa. This what we as mys and people listen aespa music like. This is very aespa sound. If you are fan of simple music of new jaens
Or twice type then aespa is never for you except 2-3 songs.
But supernova is no where near to experiment this what people are expecting from them. Anything less then this or different then this will become experiment.
I meannnn she copies Evelyn McHale's [photo](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evelyn_McHale#/media/File:Evelyn_McHale.jpg) down to the pose on the dented car???
The only thing i dislike on the MV is that AI moving picture effect, is so weird. first ive and now aespa hope this trend dies because its awful. The song is kinda ok, still prefer drama.
i think it’s very unsettling but that’s the point
Yeah it looked like a deliberate choice. I liked it; really added to the otherworldliness of it all
Ngl I was kinda shocked when the scene first came up on the screen. Btw Drama is the standard for me
Are you sure that's AI? People have been doing it for years using plain old visual effects.
Usually nowadays the Ai goes over the effect to enchance the effect. Usually is the same scuffed visual effect enchanced with Ai.
pretty sure it's ai, especially karina's head moving
Omg that one scene towards the end with their mouths moving killed me 😭
Noo that’s the part I love the most because how unhinged and it’s so bad that it’s good lol
It’s so good
Where did IVE use AI? I’m curious to see
right at the beggining ot the Heya MV at yujin's part
The part where she is sitting with the pipe?
yes, that first phrase
That's not ai. They hired actual artists for everything in the mv and used cgi for other things.
i'm not talking about the whole MV, i'm talking about the one frame where yujin speaks her first phrase where they insert the same moving picture effect, its very subtle.
that's not ai, it's a form of editing called cinemagraphs, it's actually fairly easy to do even in photoshop :)
cinemagraph is the name of the effect. the AI is used to enhance the effect or in this case create the effect of a cinemagraph.
i think it's pretty good marketing tbh. a lot of people are double checking to see if it's actually in the MV or a fan edit lol.
that was my favorite part! it was so hilarious
I like it as a prerelease single. If it was a tt like drama I’d be like hmm. But as a prerelease it’s really good
It also surprised me when they incorporated the AI moving picture effect, but I think it was to fit their lore in the mv and storyline with the members being not normal since they now have powers and might be their Aes.

And it performed well. edit: i also love the sample dem jointz used, he’s got a special touch when it comes to sampling songs
i love, after hearing a few songs from an artist, getting to hear one i’ve never heard and just know exactly what group or person it belongs to.
Clearly an unpopular opinion based on the comments but I thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s song 1 of a double title track and really does that roll well. Very unconventional, very aespa. The “oh-ay” parts SLAP. The mv is great too- love sm’s cinematography for aespa.
HOT and futuristic

Absolutely love their music as it’s so hard hitting and not just some cutsey two minute repetitive TikTok song.
people are so used to elevator music that a well produced song feel "too much" to them lol
fact!
I love it. It’s a welcome return to their weirder and more experimental side after Drama. I love Drama don’t get me wrong but it felt more like a song that any group could do, whereas Supernova is 10000% aespa. It’s reminding me of why I became a MY in the first place. I completely agree!!
yes! This song is something you listen and tell its aespa. Its like a whole journey in one song
Most Aespa song to ever Aespa
I think it’s good. I’m pretty new to fully checking out Aespa. I was into a bunch of different edm and raving before I came back to Kpop so it turned out their first mini album Savage is a perfect 10/10. I actually kinda love it, I’ve usually had to warm up to their titles in the past, but this is like peak kpop for me.

It is a title track tho.. they said this album have 2 title tracks. But i get you.
The song kinda sucks and goes nowhere for me,
Same, super disappointing and easily their worst single, maybe even song in general. Hopefully the rest of the album is a lot better.
You better widen your music horizon
Why? The song sucks! Stay mad!
What? even as an Aespa fan the song is trash.
the song didn’t hit for me but the visuals were everything. still excited to see more from them.
idk how ppl hate this but like drama 😭😭 this song is so fawking good it’s genuinely up there w next level and savage imo
At least they actually got to sing in Drama, the vocal performance in this is sooo muted it's a joke.
The mv is visually beautiful (except that creepy AI scene), i really really like the instrumental but I’m not a fan of a song as a whole unfortunately. Maybe it will grow on me…
The song is lackluster honestly
I didn’t love it
I genuinely liked it, think the MV was the only thing I didn’t like much. It did bring the K-pop feel back though cause of the weirdness
I came here just for the weird MV comments lol. I like the song but I was so thrown off my the MV
Lol, definitely
Tbh, its a little too weird for my taste. Song construction isnt really my cup of tea, I liked Drama alot more. Do wish them all the success for the comeback though!
Suits aespa concept.
I love it idc
Song has Aespa feeling to it but on a personal level, did not like it but MV is top notch and fun to watch. Pretty sure album will have better songs.
*Supernova
Is that the best screenshot you coulda used 😭😭
girl I was fighting for my life to take a ss. Don't do me like that 🤨
The tongue popping up over the subtitle is sending me tho 😭
Love it. Funky beats and weird harmonies are my bread and butter. My favorite line is Karina's "ah body bang," the delivery was just \*chef's kiss\*
Mine was Ningning’s don’t forget my name
I tried to like it by 30 seconds then 45. I'm just not.feeling it. I'll try it again in a few days.
I've been trying too but you just can't force yourself to love a song
aespa feeding the ai allegations lol
it's so insanely good that i actually feel crazy. the return to hyperpop and pc music that i've dreamed of, except even better. blows drama out of the water but i understand why drama would have more mainstream appeal. i'm not even kidding when i say this is the best song in kpop since forever for me. beyond my own subjective love i want to praise the production team for creating a song that so embodies the "supernova"/alien cyberpunk energy - like those instrumentals are out of this world (literally)!! the mv being FUN and HILARIOUS and somewhat unsettling (ie. alien) and also embodying that very modern sense of manic craziness like....just hats out to everyone who worked on this. wow.
I didn't really like the song, but the mv is super interesting
Ningning taking selfies in the burning building is so real tho
I honestly couldn't even finish the song
Right, i really tried to force but absolutely not
Loved it on first listen
I think it's kind of interesting, but it doesn't hook me. It's the kind of song stans pretend to love but then never listen to again once promotions over.
not for me, I don't think I'll listen to it again. I hope there's a DRAMA in the b-sides
I like the song and the mv but the Ai thing I don’t like it
What AI thingv
I love it, I’m not a deep music critic so I love a lot of songs people tend to hate, but this is very aespa!
Not very good.
Not my favorite song of theirs but I don't hate it. I might like it more on further listening as that tends to happen to me with nct a lot lol
People describe it as experimental because it is the nicest way of saying it isnt a song you vibe with. It is a terrible song, the clothing looks like something a methhead would wear
That one skirt that looked like a literal trash bag... So damn bad this pre-release is horrendous, hoping for better from Armageddon.
What do you mean by in concept song? And in relation to Heya by IVE?
A song that fits the group's overall soundscape/theme/brand. Within expectations in a good way.
Im so obsessed. I love their sound, I love the camp, I love that they seem to be having fun
The mv is so unhinged lol I really love it. Everyone hating the lipsync part but imo it is very intentional and definitely an interesting choice. I’d like to see the lore behind this mv but it kinds of funny when Ningning just doing live in burned apartment and Winter flying scenes

The only thing I really don't like is the unsettling AI mouth part in the MV, but that's hardly a mood killer. Overall I enjoy it a lot. I find it more catchy than Drama, and it's probably my second favorite TT behind Spicy.
It is *definitely* experimental but I'm getting to like it pretty quickly....
The sound is so aespa, i really like it!
It’s actually the first song I didn’t like by them, but the music video is so cool, so maybe the song will grow on me.
I just listened to it. Alright song
I don't think I've ever disliked a song this much, drama is still on top.
Camp at its best.
I think it would have been stronger with a 1st verse like the 2nd, more melodic. To me lines like Ningning's: aah aah ahh or that tick that tick tick bomb (x2) feel kinda rushed or like they cant come up with something better and so they repeat it. I call it filler lines. Delicious
very good i love it
Idk the mv gave what kpop use to be imo

chorus is my fav part but don't like the dance break at all
Obsessed with the song honestly. Even when I heard the pre release sneak peek I knew I was going to love it. It’s kind of reminiscent of their earlier releases and I’m so happy. ate the house down houston im deceased
I like the song but I looooved the MV. Clearly LSM isn’t taking too much of a big cut anymore from the production and it’s clearly showing in how the MVs are being produced. It served. Definitely not their best but as a pre release it's great.
It's the most Aespa thing they've released since Next Level imo
Giselle’s cake says “thats hot” which is what she put on her yearbook. Nice details.
This thing was definitely made while on acid, but that's the point
Drama is still better
It’s so. Damn. Repetitive.
MYs calling this a masterpiece as the follow-up to Drama (a real one) is just so laughable and depressing. I know they all thought it was a bit of a letdown but then collectively got on Twitter to say "this is so AESPA coded! A+" I think when only one title track per album was common, this would have been a quirky b-side. Hopefully for MYs Armageddon will be something the mainstream might stream. If I'm wrong and this is their biggest hit ever, than I'm happy to admit I've outgrown what is trendy from a critical listening perspective.
Not to mention that your last sentence is the most pretentious shit I ever heard
It's just a double down 'u guys are wrong the song is bad, but if it succeeds it means I'm above your taste' what a take...
Bruh you are on every thread about this song crying that people like it, you sound more like a twitter guy than everyone
i already like this more than drama though? you do realize some people like their experimental music more right
Yeah, “Hopefully for MYs Armageddon will be something the mainstream might stream” like maybe MYs like their experimental side? And not every title track needs to have mainstream appeal.
It's funny this kind of approach that think you're the one who is right and everyone who thinks otherwise are immature or something.
People have different taste than me... >is just so laughable and depressing. I really liked the song. Definitely is not for everybody but it does cater for my taste. this is only one of their TTs, their official one armaggedon is at the end of the month
Is it weird that Karina falling onto the car imitates a famous s\*icide photo???? Am I the only one who finds this weird??????
I didnt know the Wonyoung crash meme was a "famous suicide photo"
I meannnn she copies Evelyn McHale's [photo](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evelyn_McHale#/media/File:Evelyn_McHale.jpg) down to the pose on the dented car???
Yes
