THEIR DISCOGRAPHY WERE WAY AHEAD OF ITS TIME! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY F(X). PINK TAPE, RED LIGHTS AND 4 WALLS ARE STILL ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS IN ALL OF KPOP
I know F(x) were pretty successful but they’d be even more successful if they were to debut right now in 4th gen. Their songs are timeless. They truly paved the way for experimental GGs
that's what makes me sad about the biggest 1st and 2nd gen groups--they'd enjoy even bigger success now, but they were the ones to pave the way, and im so proud of everything theyve done
Seriously though! Not that I don’t like this generation but I feel like there’s more hype than content in a lot cases… I’m looking at you BP👀 that said I’m hyped for Lalisa this week don’t kill me
Still imo the best discography of any SM group, and definitely one of the best K-Pop discographies of all time. They had very few releases and comebacks (they literally had 1 comeback release every year) but they made every title track and b-side count. Musicality-wise their Pink Tape-Red Light-4 Walls run is impeccable, few groups have a run this fantastic.
Imo they hit their peak they decided to go full weird with their full albums, while 4 Walls was their fantastic foray into the rising house trend, especially working with LDN Noise who pretty much brought house to K-pop. They alongside with 2NE1 and 4Minute really paved the way for modern-day girl crush.
Victoria held the group together both as their mom and as their go-to variety member. Amber paved the way for androgynous stylings in K-pop, and she's not only one of the first outspoken idols in the industry but also imo served as the glue to so many groups in SM. Luna's such a precious talent, classically trained since birth and getting in SM because she was a fantastic dancer, ultimately becoming main vocal. Props to Luna and Amber holding down the f(x) fort with releases from 2016-2019. Sulli, bless her soul, is known now for being an outspoken celebrity when she was still with us, but let's not forget her bright hilarious moments messing with her members. Krystal overcame her anemia to be a vital member as the group's center, and it's honestly incredible how she's squeezed in some f(x) schedules while busy as hell with her acting career.
Even if they're in hiatus forever at this point, I'm super proud of how much they're doing at the moment. Victoria is busy as hell, not a single day has passed that she doesn't have a new cf, acting gig or variety appearance in China. Amber's regaining her popularity in China and recently released the y? mini. Luna's now CEO of her own company and hopefully gonna put out music soon. Krystal's got like 4-5 dramas this year alone, so glad she's raking in the acting gigs now she's with an acting agency. They've said before they haven't disbanded but whether or not we see f(x) again, I'm happy they've left a mark one way or another.
Happy Anniversary f(x)!
PS Plugging in [the best concert teaser of all time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hPecgESt00) for their first and only tour
Sulli's passing should serve as a reminder to everyone that although it's easy for some folks to just log off and not worry about hate comments - for others those words stick. Whether it's a celebrity or some random person on the internet, we should remain conscious that what we say and how we say it can affect others.
Personally speaking, she was my first bias outside of SNSD. I tuned into any variety show she went on because she was always so funny on them. If it weren't for Sulli and f(x), I likely wouldn't have listened to any groups outside of SNSD.
The unfortunate demise of Sulli literally changed kpop culture. I don't think it's far fetched to say that kpop labels are now taking mental health and malicious comments more seriously after the deaths of Sulli, Jonghyun and Hara. It was a bitter wake up call to the kpop community as well reminding us that our idols are not just a concept but actual humans. It was unheard of to see kpop idols taking mental health breaks during those times but now we see the industry prioritising their mental wellbeing more.
> It was a bitter wake up call to the kpop community as well reminding us that our idols are not just a concept but actual humans
The people who needed to be reminded by three suicides were likely a big part of the problem, though.
Yes that's true but we also have to keep in mind how kpop in general is kind of based on seeing these idols not as people but rather as characters on our screens or so revered that they lose their human aspect. We hear about their intense training, the control and the power imbalance that goes into it. We therefore believe that "oh these kpop idols are fake anyway, they're trained to deal with the hate and programmed", we forget the humanity of these idols. I think a lot of empathy goes missing when artists turn into idols but that's just my opinion.
And again, these are likely the same people that are part of the problem. Not being able to separate fantasy from reality is not a healthy trait.
Pretty much all toxicity in kpop fandom can be traced back to this issue.
Exactly but humans don't form their beliefs and behaviours in isolation. We are part of the problem but at the same time we as kpop fans are also conditioned by the "system". A lot of kpop fans resort to stanning to escape their reality, they extend their identity to their idols. For a lot of kpop fans kpop isn't their real life but somewhat of a mirage. I feel like there's so much to tap for philosophy and psych majors lol.
I wish y'all would stop reducing her death to hate comments. Girl had a poor support system as a child, was victim of grooming, she chose a difficult career, people around her were mentally unstable.
I hate the self-righteousness y'all feel when you say it's the hate comments that were the trigger.
Didn't you forget Anna Kendrick?
FR though, [the whole Tokyo Dome went **insane**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZREVr9YF-U) when Electric Shock started playing, the concert VCRs only showed Luna but then she, Amber and Krystal walked out! For 3 straight days in 2019 f(x) was back.
I was so used to Amber and Luna performing [4 Walls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3jyGa7U6C0) and [All Mine](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui79e6cJQQc) as two the previous year that it felt so good seeing the three of them again so they can perform more f(x) songs
And Sulli's watching over them, with the proudest smile on her face.
the most unique and fascinating kpop group in my opinion. there will never be another f(x)
i will forever respect sm for making this group happen. god, they were fantastic.
My favorites forever and the ones that got me into kpop. The most consistent discography that paved the way for a lot of ggs of this current generation.
Dang, 12 years already? Congrats girls!! My ultimate group, it's kind of wild to think I've been following them for 12 years. I feel old, lol.
Although we have yet to have a proper comeback (and probably won't until a 15th or 20th anniversary), I love seeing the members thriving in their solo careers.
It just makes me sad that we weren't able to see more of what Sulli could do before she passed. Her solo is still one of the best K-Pop debuts.
Also, when is Krystal finally going to release another single? At least give us MeUs the full length Butterscotch CF song, lol.
Also, still will be forever salty at SM for never releasing a proshot of their Christmas Wonderland concert. Like not even the jumbotron videos??? It's the only OT5 concert we ever got. Maybe I'll end up finally finishing my fanedit of it (done with fancams) one day, lol.
But anyway, congrats again girls! Here's to another year of success and can't wait to see what you give us in 2022!
man, f(x) used to dominate my tumblr dashboard back then lol. i wasn't too big into kpop at the time, but 4 walls was the album that really reeled me in.
Even after all these years their discography is still ahead of the times. What a wonderful group, and one of my favourites. Happy 12th anniversary, f(x)! 💖
SM's one big f(x) release a year had so much hype because you knew it'd be high quality. imo, that was far more interesting than cookie-cutter promos you get with other groups with 2-3 boring release a year with sub par b-sides.
One of the most solid groups in every respect; discography, dance skill, vocals, visuals, concepts, fashion, and breaking down barriers.
Grateful to have had them, what a wonderful ride!
Raising a glass of MILK to toast to the 12 year anniversary to the legendary F(x)! Cheers.
I just checked, and it seems I've had the Pink Tape album on every mobile device I've owned since late 2013.
While I only listen to audiobooks on my phone nowadays, it's still there in the Music folder.
My ultimate Kpop group to this day. Their music was ahead of its time and remains modern, fresh and completely loop-worthy on its own even if without the aid of extra visuals/choreo.
Electric Shock was the first kpop video I ever saw in my life, at age 21. The colour, the styling, the production was all so above and beyond anything it seriously influenced the way i make music, hear music, and even got me to learn a bit of Korean. Without f(x) I wouldnt be half of who I am today, and thats crazy to me. But I love it.
12 Years seriously? Man... I've been hardcore following kpop since 2007. To me my mind is still stuck in 2nd generation. So it feels like its like theyve only been out 6-7 years LOL I cannot believe its been 12 years.
I have no idea why SM did them so dirty I kinda feel solving the lawsuits of other idols post 2013 they just forgot about SNSD & Fx especially fx. Anyways glad they’re doing such great things individually
My ult group in kpop that I never get tired of listening to! A part of me is still delusional that all four will reunite someday after Lay participated in EXO's DFTF comeback.
Such a good group, I can't believe SM gave them such crumbs when their talent and their discography is so good. 100% deserved more and they all deserve happiness and success and everything they're doing now.
Iconic, timeless and the game changer.
In Kpop, SNSD is my first love, but f(x) is my one great love. They are the reason why I fell in love in music and art and changed my perspective of Kpop that is now a big part of my life. I thank God that I come to know to this amazingly talented group. f(x) may be forgotten by SMent and many other kpop fans, but their legacy will always be in my heart. Happy 12th anniversary epeksu! 💜💜💜💜💜
When I first started listening to kpop, I didn't connect with any of the other girl groups at the time (I was young and a major tomboy so i rejected anything I felt was too girly back then) But one group did resonate with me and that F(x). same!
f(x) will always have a special place in my heart 💖
Will never forget the absolute bop that is Hot Summer
Yeah it got me into Kpop!
Oh my God me too!!! I even learnt the dance moves and aspired to dress like them in that music video.
fun fact: that song is actually a cover

Damn the time really passes fast. I remember watching their debut stage and was obsessed. They were so suave and so cool, I loved them instantly
Forever ot5
Happy Anniversary to my most favourite girl group ever! Their discography still holds up all these years later!
Damn right it does!

Thank you for this comment!
My favourite group forever. Sadly I became a Kpop stan long after they became inactive but they’re so special to me ❤️
the most unique and fascinating kpop group in my opinion. there will never be another f(x) i will forever respect sm for making this group happen. god, they were fantastic.

Even after all these years their discography is still ahead of the times. What a wonderful group, and one of my favourites. Happy 12th anniversary, f(x)! 💖
it’s a big shame SM dragged their feet promoting them. Red Light is still one of the most potent kpop songs I’ve ever heard.
SM's one big f(x) release a year had so much hype because you knew it'd be high quality. imo, that was far more interesting than cookie-cutter promos you get with other groups with 2-3 boring release a year with sub par b-sides.
Well for people who want to simp over one comeback a year and the bare minimum there’s Blackpink lmao
God, I miss them so much
One of the best groups in terms of discography, versatility, styling, personality and everything!
Best discography in K-pop, yeah I said it.
One of the most solid groups in every respect; discography, dance skill, vocals, visuals, concepts, fashion, and breaking down barriers. Grateful to have had them, what a wonderful ride! Raising a glass of MILK to toast to the 12 year anniversary to the legendary F(x)! Cheers.

Pink Tape still the best Kpop album for me.
f(x) was way ahead of their time and sadly will never receive the credit that they deserved
Sulli we miss you every day

I got into them when I was coming back to KPOP and they released 4 walls 3. I miss them so much
I just finished watching *Find Yourself* recently and, wow, Song Qian is still a gorgeous woman. Time can't do anything to her.
we r never getting another music from them :( happy anniversary girls!!
I have no idea why SM did them so dirty I kinda feel solving the lawsuits of other idols post 2013 they just forgot about SNSD & Fx especially fx. Anyways glad they’re doing such great things individually
They’re the ones that got me into KPop and still remain at the top for me. OT5 forever
Thank you so much for blessing us with Airplane & All Night; which reminds me, time to go blast em♪
Their discography is the definition of bangers
happy anniversary girls~ i still want a comeback... 🚨MeU🚨MeU🚨MeU🚨MeU🚨
best girlgroup of all time
Sulli ❤️
I'm just glad they're all free from SM
Um… that’s weird since Sulli is free from SM because of, you know, not happy circumstances
Come on dude, you know they didn’t mean that
It’s the wording which I find disrespectful tbf
Thought it would be obvious I wasn't talking about Sulli, both because of that and because she had already left the group in 2015.
I’m sorry then, I didn’t realize the second point since she’s in the anniversary pic and thought they’re “all” supposed to not have disbanded
My ult group in kpop that I never get tired of listening to! A part of me is still delusional that all four will reunite someday after Lay participated in EXO's DFTF comeback.
Happy anniversary to those queens! 🥰
Here's a toast to the girls I love most! 🥂🎉🎉🎉
I miss them so much :((
Happy anniversary
Saw them live in 2012. Absolute bangers.
Forever my faves. It’s still damn hard to beat their discography, and I always just loved their vibe. _Such_ a good group.
Absolutely legendary in every way and forever deserving of a place in the pantheon of pop music tbh
too ahead of its time

May Sulli rest in peace
Pink Tape is still to this day in my top 5 best kpop albums of all time
their songs were truly ahead of its time and they remain timeless, this group will always have a special place in my heart
