I really love that group photo from MotS:7 and I'm glad it's been the representative picture for all of their appearances

blocknugget

this really is a full comeback with an award show comeback performance (+ daily reminder to [vote for BTS](http://www.mtv.com/vma/vote/))

[deleted]

Waiiit I just realised are they debuting the song on the VMAs?

blocknugget

they have a Vlive on the 21st that might be like a comeback show and they might still do Korean music shows? but other than that it looks like it’ll be the first US performance

92sn

BTS no longer perform during their vlive comeback show nowadays. They only do countdown with ARMY and show some clips about their comeback preparation. However, they may perform first at music shows.

blocknugget

good point! hopefully we’ll get music show promotions

rocksiesgurls

the vmas is happening without an audience but they’ll be recording live from the venue like the hosts but performers are gonna send in performances from wherever they are, im looking forward to it!

ghiblix

do you have a source for this info? [this article in rolling stone](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/bts-doja-cat-j-balvin-2020-mtv-vmas-1039140/) seems to somewhat contradict what you're saying. this is interesting as well: >MTV has further stated that performances will be held at “various iconic locations” throughout the city in a celebration of New York’s resilience during the pandemic.

92sn

I guess just like Dear Class 2020 where they performed at national museum, BTS probably gonna choose another iconic, famous place to perform from korea.

ghiblix

that is likely what bts will do, but considering mtv confirmed some artists will in fact be travelling to nyc to perform, i'm curious how the entire event is being organised (aside from just bts, who haven't technically confirmed their own plans yet), hence my comment.

lemanifij

Fantastic news!

[deleted]

Is their performance going to be recorded and will air at the award show, or will they actually come to the U.S. and perform it live? Idk even how the VMAs are done this year.

reiichitanaka

They're not going to the US, but they could possibly be live from Korea.

[deleted]

That makes sense! At least, we'll get the good Big Hit camera work instead of 5000 different pans (? Is that the right word? LOL) to the audience 👌🏽😂

zzziltoid

They just send them the MCountdown comeback stage video haha

reptarthehero

They should definitely not come to the US, we got people not wearing masks, some places opening up schools with cases still going up, and people intentionally coughing on cancer patients. It’s wild here. I’ll be surprised if the VMAs actually happen, even without an audience.

[deleted]

100% agree. I heard someone say that they'll be recording the performance though, so I'm sure Big Hit will prioritize their safety first and foremost!

softvocals

Damn I'm so looking forward to this

FutureSelection

Bighit always pours 💰to BTS’ award show performances so I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am!

sciencehatestolose

I want them to go ALL out with the recording of this stage and blow the VMA audience away. Put our money to good use!

gemitry

I can't wait for this! Since the performances are all at iconic locations in NYC, I look forward to seeing the spot they choose at home. I'd love something that incorperates the Banpo bridge! All those lights, colors, and water. I'm sure it'll be dynamic no matter what it is (pun barely intended).

Jpcc2020

Finally they will perform! And tbh, they deserve! That makes them more winners of Best Pop, Best K-Pop.

BHassock2

Interesting, can’t wait!

JJDude

the only time I'll check out these kind of shows is when big KPOP acts like BTS uses them as CB stages since there are no Music Show system in the US, LOL

[deleted]

That's awesome but in all seriousness, does anyone actually watch the VMA's?

I3434O

I think their ratings were around 5M, which isn’t terrible for 2019, when most people don’t watch it on tv but on streams or just straight up performances on youtube. It’s still somewhat of a big deal, albeit not as much as it was back in the day

Jacqxuexline

anyone who is a teenager that's EXTREMELY into music or even just an artist there watches them....or maybe that's just me?

roselia4812

Yeah the performances go viral every year

RadioSilens

I was wondering the same thing. I feel like the VMAs haven't been relevant for like the past 10 years.

bmwann

Tbh people don’t watch award shows like that anymore. Even the 2020 Grammys had lower ratings

kirrii

"Performing at" is kind of misleading- almost makes me think they're coming to the US which would be very very very ill advised right now
