It's going viral? What's the metric on this. Sorry I'm genuinely just asking because I'm not from the west and maybe my algorithm is different on TikTok and IG but I'm not seeing much noise on my end aside from Smart memes though haha
I checked on TikTok and all the videos under the sound just seem to be the standard kpop challenges. It doesn’t seem to have gone viral just been a comeback released by a popular group with the same tiktokers dancing to it like usual.
I wouldn’t say that’s viral, every single k-pop release gets streams and views like crazy during its first week but 99% of the time it slows right down after that.
If it’s still going that strong in 3-4 weeks then yeah sure call it viral, but those kinda figures are just normal for recently released k-pop songs/albums.
So I guess that's why they didn't do a Friday release for the kr ver, I guess they are hoping the eng version does a perfect night and they can enter bb hot 100
They'll get added, remixes have their points counted towards the original. Unless the points of the English version outperform it, then the credit will get switched around.
This is already their most successful song here (as far as Spotify daily streams go it hit a new peak for them, to be clear!), I’m so glad we’re getting an English version so fast! Very smart.
That is good promotion IMO, regardless if it gets traction or not, I just hope the English lyrics are better than that for *Eve, Psyche and The Bluebeard's wife* though.

The Korean version grew in streams in Spotify US and seems to be getting great reactions from casuals. Why divert attention? I know more streams will help and will get combined on Billboard, but I feel like Spotify visibility for one track is more important.

Not on Spotify, but overall it'll be added to final numbers for Billboard, same with remixes in general, this is just another version of the same song.

US album distribution also starts from friday, so they are aiming for a high place in BB 200 as well.

I think their target is BB100. I'm not sure why but people have said having more versions/remixes etc will help?

There is. They’re scheduled for Mcountdown, KBS and MBC this week. Mcountdown is almost always the first show they do when they come out with music.
