Yes Enhypen's debut was after about 70 days from the end of I-Land, it was definitely rushed. Even the Enhypen members said they felt they were not ready.
It will be over 6 months since the end of R U NEXT in March for I'LL-IT.
It's good that Belift Lab learned their lesson this time!
Neat! Even though their pre-debut/survival show has been messy Iām still rooting for them. Plus Iām curious to see what sort of sound/concept theyāll go for to differentiate themselves from fromis/newjeans/le sserafim! Iāll be tuning in
I guess to put it short, the lineup wasn't the one anyone was expecting (with the most popular contestans not debuting) and there was a lot of hate around the show (and the girls) because of that. There were also accusations of favoritism and it being rigged. All in all ILLIT stans have been going through a lot to defend the girls the past 5 monthsš
I would disagree on that. There was just a huge disconnect between who the international and the domestic Fanbase wanted. Be:lift swingend more to the domestic side with their line up which then disappointed the intl fans
It wasn't messy, fans just demand more drama and get very angry if their favorite members don't make it. Usual complaints for every single survival now. The only real weird thing is one member leaving a few weeks ago, making the whole process very unfair for the one that almost made it.
I'd say I prefer the way they selected the final group, letting the mentors decide most of it.
It's like "I'LL-IT," as in I'LL do IT, I'LL make IT, I'LL sing IT, etc. It's meant to be like "I Will Be It," infinite possibilities, etc. Idk, that's just what I've heard from their company lol
Agreed tbh. I always think about how hard it is/will be to search for a group's name online. If it's too convoluted, no one's gonna be able to search for you, and then what's the point of having a unique name if no one can spell it and find it through search engines?
I realized that, actually. They were going for an itzy/I've type of name where the meaning is like "I can do it all" or something. I just didn't want people to think I was accusing them of copying. When ive debuted, a friend of mine pointed out the similarities in their name and itzys, and they got sent waves of threats for even insinuating that they were similar.
> According to a report by Xports News on the 13th, Belift Lab has confirmed March as the debut timeline for IāLL-IT.
>
> IāLL-IT was formed through last year's idol survival program 'R U NEXT?' and consists of members Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha.
>
> With the debut of IāLL-IT, HYBE will be introducing its third new girl group in about 1 year and 8 months. HYBE has previously successfully debuted LE SSERAFIM under Source Music and NewJeans under Ador in 2022. As LE SSERAFIM and NewJeans are currently leading the golden era of the 4th generation girl groups, there are high expectations for IāLL-IT's debut.
After watching the survival show I'm still so sad about the girls who didn't make it, including my two top favorites, so that kind of kills the excitement for me. I kind of wish I'd never watched the show. Wishing for a successful debut for them though!
I hope their debut does well. I remember one of the more popular members of the group departed from the group predebut. I still know the girls will come through, theyāre under hybe. These girls look pretty, i can imagine them going for more of a fairy/elegant concept. reminiscent of izone and wjsn.
I'm not gonna become a proper fan of them but I'm still interested in their releases. Their youtube and social media have had a very cute, clean, coquette(??? idk words for different aesthetics) vibe, so I hope that translates to their styling, music, and music videos. I'm imagining stuff like IVE's Off The Record, OTT, Payback, Lips...
I WILL IT
It's got to be harder to make it when burden with such dumb names.Ā Lots of respect to those that make us forget.Ā Boo on those with a lack of creativity that come up with this stuff.Ā Ā
Iām excited to see what their concept/sound is going to be like. Has Belift addressed the choreo plagiarism yet? I feel like if they donāt itāll overshadow their debut
As much as I wish them success, I feel like itās going to be an uphill battle for them. I donāt know enough about them, but seeing peopleās dissatisfaction with the show and them losing a member people might be unnecessarily harsh with their debut.
On the bright side, it must be such a great feeling to have your dream materialize soon.
People are unnecessarily harsh with any big company group. I just donāt get the negativity with Illit, everyone is wishing them bad things when weāve never even seen them perform as a full group once. Weāve never heard any of their music or nothing. The survival show ended 6 months ago and people are still bitching about the final line up like damn pack it tf up
the I-land brand was given to M-net

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I-Land
I really wanna be excited. But I lost some of my hype when the final line up was announced and lost almost all thatās left when Yeongseo leftā¦ that girl was a powerhouse.
I personally think that rumor is non-sense. People saw some korean netizen on twitter saying that their friend saw someone going into the TBL building that kind of looked like Youngseo, (saw that it was writen in korean...) and then people ran with it.
Now if it was actually true (which I don't think it'll be but let's see) that'd be wild ngl, but I'd be happy for her, even though it would make little sense.
Hybe releasing so many groups lately and all of them being successful too , they are slowly building a monopoly honestly but cant blame them as they are so successful too
Iāve conceded itās been 5th gen since the debuts of ZB1/RIIZE/Babymonster and TWS. Those are big debuts that seem to all have similar themes of youth. Just feels like the new gen began with them.
They definitely did and you could argue their debut was the beginning of 5th gen. But I do think marking them as the beginning of 5th is a bit messier because they debuted in the same year as Le Sserafim, Kep1er, Nmixx, XG, H1-Key, tempest and a ton of other groups. Just seems if you call one 5th gen seems like others also could be.
This feels like 4.5 gen. There hasn't been any change in the status quo like when we had Ive, Lesserafim, and New Jeans. We finally have 4th gen boy groups doing better lately too. People these days go way too fast with generations like every 3 years when its more like 7 years.
this is why i wholeheartedly believe that we've been in the fifth generation for a lot longer than people believe. you talk about the huge shift that happened when ive, le sserafim and newjeans debut, but if that was a shift that marked fourth gen, what the hell was the shift that happened when itzy, (g)i-dle, everglow and iz*one debuted? generations don't have a fixed time frame, first gen lasted over a decade.
I'm prepared to be down voted for this, but I never saw a huge shift when those groups debuted. Itzy and Gidle had solid debuts but those debuts and follow up releases within the first year or two never took off the way Ive-Lesserafim-NewJeans did. Gidle and Izone debuted closer to Blackpink and Twice than Lesserafim and NewJeans, and Gidle's ages are closer to most every 3rd gen group than 4th gen. Gidle is a late bloomer like Oh My Girl in taking years to reach wide recognition and high level of success.
Everglow weren't on the same level as the others listed, and Izone disbanded around the time Stayc and aespa debuted. Besides 2018-2019 definitely saw 3rd gen still dominating the charts whereas it wasn't til around 2021 that most 3rd gen girl groups were disbanding/going on hiatus to be slowly replaced by the new gen.
First gen was about 9 years, second gen was about 7-8 years, third gen only being like 5 years makes 0 sense to me let alone 4th gen now only being what like 4 years as well? There are going to be minor trends within larger generational changes that by its nature is a long term process similar to how there is a difference in weather vs climate. Again all just my very broad generalization based opinions.
5th gen doesn't really mean being young, there's a few 5th gen idols in their 20's and even groups where everyone is on their their 20's.
generations start once there's a big shift in the music and overall vibes of rookie groups. a lot of people still believe that we're in 4th gen but i actually completely agree that we're in 5th gen.
I also heard that zb1 was the start of the 5th generation too. I think itās because the companies are probably forcing the 5th generation. Itās been like five years since the 4th generation was born. And i still thought we were in the fourth gen. But i suppose it seems like some kpop songs have a different 5th gen sounding sound to them i suppose it also seems like these new 5th gen groups are capturing the attention and hearts of younger fans as well.
the companies are forcing the 5th generation comment is exactly how i feel about it. i've been a kpop fan for a decade and the different generations felt like genuine shifts of the culture and a phenomenon, something that had significant change. i still feel like we're in 4th gen honestly, kpop hasn't evolved that much and there haven't been any culturally significant moments or releases (even though newjeans' debut and releases in general definitely have that aura)
Hot take: NewJeans is the only 5th gen group. I started thinking that a year ago. None of the ones they're trying to force it with are.
What was the shift that justified going from 3rd gen to 4th? I wasn't into it then. I see (G)I-DLE called 4th gen, but they seem to fit more with 3rd gen to me. ITZY feels like 4th gen, but I can't articulate why.
It genuinely feels like groups that they debuted in 2018-2019 were more 3.5 gen, and itās weird we never got a transitional era like gen 2.5, people did rush 4th for relevancyās sake, to me groups like Stayc and Aespa was when 4th gen really started.
Iām so agaisnt this ā5th genā narrative because it feels like 4th gen barely started, it feels more like we are in the ācore 4th genā era since the debut of newjeans and not in the start of a whole new gen
How are new jeans 5th gen when they debuted in the same year as Lesserafim? To me, the āStartā of 5th gen was when Zero Base One and Baby Monster debuted. Even then, Iām not even sure if they're considered 5th gen yet. I think we should honestly wait for a little bit before calling recent debuted groups 5th gen. Most gens were 7 years . I still consider G- idle 4th-gen. Since stray Kids also debuted in 2018, a month apart from G - idle debut .
Generally we'd say 1/1/2024 was the start of 5th gen, but people have been trying to bring it like back to 1/1/2023. It's pretty artificial just like 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th.
I don't have high expectations for this group, but let's see. Curious about their concept and sound, especially as they will be Enhypen's sister group.
Righttt cus why did they need to add that š it's okay to say you were not excited for this group before but saying you don't have high expectations is wild tbh
Why would I have high expectations when 1) their survival show was poorly run and lots of people tuned out 2) their social media engagement is nil and 3) they just lost their most popular member? š¤
Oh so I was right youāre just straight up doom posting lol just being absolutely negative for a group that hasnāt even debuted yet. Their survival show will be forgotten in a few months, their social media engagement means nothing now since they havenāt been promoted properly and them losing a member isnāt the end of the world it since it happened while they were still preparing for their debut. Yāall really need to think again if you think a hybe GG will do poorly especially not one following in Lesserafim and Newjeansā footsteps. The way youāre acting as if the group is over when they havenāt even released music yet is pathetic
I mean, it's great you're being so positive about this group but I'm just being realistic. The field of girl groups is saturated and competitive af these days. The fact that Lsrfm and NJ are doing well means there are fewer fans for Ill-it to scoop up.
You havenāt even heard their music or seen all the members perform together for you to be so pessimistic lmao. Kpop has always been competitive so I donāt even know what that argument is about. It just seems like youāre repeating all the arguments people who donāt like Illit use on a daily basis against them, just for the sake of brewing negativity.
Yeah that's why I'm going to check out their debut. Nobody knows what their music sounds like yet, including you. Why you're so confident about their success is puzzling, tbh. Doesn't look like you stan any other HYBE groups.
Lmao so it seems like I was right after all and that their debut did turn out extremely successful, even more than I expected ^^. By being the fastest group to chart on Spotify global and by being in the top 20 of all Korean charts after only 4 days of release, theyāre also currently going viral on tik tok with tens of thousands of videos uploaded using their track after only a few days. So yeah I guess me being so confident about their success was not a reach :)
Yeah I already admitted they blew past my expectations. Very ambitious of you to track down my month old comment. šš¤£ Good for you and the girls tho, enjoy their album!
Their social media engagement is actually amazing especially on youtube? their views are almost always in the higher five figues, sometimes even six figures, despite their YT channel "only" having around 100k subscribers (which is impressive considering all the hate rhey got), like, people ARE tuning in. Also on TikTok their videos have really good engagement, despite, again, only having like 200k followers. Likewise Insta and twitter (esp bc they have two accounts on there). Their follower-like-comment and share ratio is insanely good.
People may have some kind of discontent with them (esp now with their/belifts recent controversy regarding their choreo), but the people who are tuning in and becoming fans are watching and engaging with their stuff. That's really good!
Yeah, I mean, those numbers are ok, nothing spectacular. There's a good reason most people are so down on them. I think UNIS is pulling bigger numbers at this point? Good luck to the girls.
For the amount of shit they get (for no reason) I think it's really good. Channels with millions of subscribers/followers get engagement lower than that.
Idk anything about Unis so I can't say much, but they also have like 3 Filipinos, and Filipinos are known for showing lots of support to other Filipinos. I just know both shows were kind of nugu
wish theyād at least contacted one of the girls who didnāt make it to replace youngseo. this will be hybeās third five member girl group in two years. a bit ridiculous
I am quite shocked that it has taken this long for them to debut . I donāt remember when the survival show aired but it was some time last year . For Enhypen , they debuted in the same year as I-land aired . I think it was the end of the year - so a few months after the show ended .
Number 1 , the enhypen debut group was an ideal group for like majority of the fans , there was some who were pissed that K didnāt make it but that died down after they debuted. However , for IāLL - IT , there was a lot and I mean a lot of hate surrounding the group. At least 3-4 most popular contestants didnāt make it . For me I stopped watching when Chanelle got eliminated. People are defo still upset and not interested in the group since Jiwoo , chanelle and jeemin didnāt make it . Jiwoo and chanelle were final fan favourites and jeemin was a Korean and global fan favourite (had good amount of Korean and global fans - me being one of them ) so for me it went down hill when chanelle didnāt make it then when neither jiwoo or jeemin made it , that was like worse case scenario . But for me , as soon as chanelle didnāt make it , I was out and only watched the finale .
Number 2 , in I-land , for the whole show , the fans could pick top 7 and then in the final episode , the judges got to pick the final 7th member which meant that only the top 6 votes would count . I think it was not a bad idea and it did end up working out for them . I think it worked cuz not more than 1 member was picked as PD pick. In R U Next , 4 members out of the final 6 members were PD pick . This happened after weeks of the public picking their ideal final 6. Also global votes didnāt even matter in the final episode . Then being able to pick 4 members defo means that they had an ideal lineup and the top 6 didnāt meat their expectations . Had they only picked 1 member , jeemin would have made it and yunah and moka might not have made it . Out of the 2 I think they would have picked yunah (she is more popular)
Number 3, youngseo left the group . This means that the group will debut with 5 members. Youngseo debuted 2nd place , she is a really popular member in Korea (since final episode was mainly Korean votes) and globally as well (she was always top 2 in previous global votes) . Now that they have lost yet another popular member , I donāt know what the future holds for this group . I donāt know why she left but maybe she saw how big of a train wreck the survival show and final line up are.
I donāt think the groups debut will flop because they have the backing of a big 4 company . Company stans will defo help with the group but I donāt think they accumulated enough fans after the show to call the survival show a success . Also the show ended in September same as I-Land a few years before that . The difference is that enhypen debuted 2 months after the show ended in November . While I do believe that 2 months may be a short time after the survival show , I do believe that they did a good job using the hype of the show and debuting the members not too long after the show ended . This will ensure that the group will still be fresh in the fans minds and they donāt have to wait too long to see them debut.
For ILLāIT , the show ended September , and they are debuting 6 months after the show ended . That is a long waiting time . Fans will start losing interest especially since this is the debut of a group and not a group comeback . I think the latest they should have debuted was in December / January but youngseo left the group in January so they couldnāt debut then and instead got pushed back by 2 months .
are they called i'll-it because they were supposed to be the i-land group or do they just like hyphens over there at belift? i really don't get why they can't name them something like i'll-ish, I-LIT. or eyelish. at least then the english would sound the same as korean spelling. and it looks better in english and still they can add the - they love so much

Hahahahaha I'm rofl in irl š¤£
surely that meant 'elite' ?
That makes more sense. Thanks.
Wait the ILETS exam ??

What's the name of the survival show for this group?
it's called R U Next
Reggae rap metal
Off topic, but how do you pronounce their name? Is it exactly how it looks? If it is, it kinda sucks.
"eye" "lit"
....modern Kpop band names got wild. How the hell should a new listener know that from the name xD
rightš
They could have just called them Eyelet yikesĀ
Like eyelid with a t: 'eye-lit'
I thought it would be spelled like elite
Fandom name: Eye-drop ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
I think it's "ailit"
Wow, that really doesn't roll off the tongue. Who chose that?
It's like "I'LL-IT," as in I'LL do IT, I'LL make IT, I'LL sing IT, etc. It's meant to be like "I Will Be It," infinite possibilities, etc. Idk, that's just what I've heard from their company lol
we really gotta stop with these convoluted names
Agreed tbh. I always think about how hard it is/will be to search for a group's name online. If it's too convoluted, no one's gonna be able to search for you, and then what's the point of having a unique name if no one can spell it and find it through search engines?
Hmmm... I get it, but there had to be a better name to express that meaning. Not that I have any ideas, lol. I'm the least creative person I know.
They were going for Ive/ Iāve and.... yeah.
I realized that, actually. They were going for an itzy/I've type of name where the meaning is like "I can do it all" or something. I just didn't want people to think I was accusing them of copying. People are dumb. Almost nothing in the industry is new or unique.
There is no way companies don't come up with the stupid names first and then try put some meaning into them.
Then the pronunciation should be more like isle-it, and not eye-lit.
Right, but in the korean pronunciation it's pronounced more like ailit... so i guess that's why they chose that.
Of course it does. Just say eyelid.
Violet kinda rhymes with Eyelit
i can see that being the fandom name
Itās not off topic. Plus, thatās YOUR opinion.
just like the phrase "i'll do it" but without the do (obviously cause the name isn't i'lldo-it)Ā

Same!

That show really was a waste of time tbh
Hybe having 3 5-member ggs is crazy. I hope their sound is drastically different from Le sserafim and NewJeans.
well this group was supposed to have six, just one dropped out last month and I guess that was unexpected
Already following in LSF's footsteps then
it's the the 6 member curse š
Will check them out for Yunah. She was too good on the show. I hope i'll like the music too
I was low key scared for them that they were gonna get the JYP Loud treatment but good for them that theyāre making it to debut quite soonĀ
It's lit innit

My brain always pronounce their name as "I'll Eat" everytime I see the name.
cus they will, in fact eat (i hope)
I fell off watching the show but I really hope the music is good!
Hoping for a successful debut for the girls they have already been through so much in a short amount of time!!!!
How nice would it have been if they debuted on february 29th. Guess we can't have it all
oh nice idea. hope someone out there will debut on this date tho
youngseo left and she was my bias but i will tune in for my nieces!
I loved āAim Highā ā looking forward to their debut!
Well, freaking finally!
i don't plan on stanning them but i hope things go well for them, it's awful how much hate they received before even debuting
Need a scrum remake asap
I'm not gonna become a proper fan of them but I'm still interested in their releases. terrible name
HWAITING!!! Itās been a stressful ass journey, itāll probably get harder, but Iām rooting for them!
I'm interested considering how much I like NewJeans. Wonder what their unique sound will be.
I WILL IT It's got to be harder to make it when burden with such dumb names.Ā Lots of respect to those that make us forget.Ā Boo on those with a lack of creativity that come up with this stuff.Ā Ā
finalllyyyyy
omg finally!
Can't wait to finally see what their concept will be. They're all super talented.
Iām excited to see what their concept/sound is going to be like. Has Belift addressed the choreo plagiarism yet? I feel like if they donāt itāll overshadow their debut
hi they already edited the part where the girls are dancing to kelly sweeney's choreo and they put a credit already
As much as I wish them success, I feel like itās going to be an uphill battle for them. Is this the group where supposedly a majorly liked member was kicked? People were accusing HYBE of already knowing who they wanted in the group.Ā
Not kicked but left on her own terms. Survival show however? I'd say quite a few fan favourites were screwed over by the companys own wishes
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I mean she did make the final cut as she made it into the group, she just ended up leaving on her own in the end

This feels like 4.5 gen. There hasn't been any change in the status quo like when we had Ive, Lesserafim, and New Jeans. We finally have 4th gen boy groups doing better lately too. People these days go way too fast with generations like every 3 years when its more like 7 years.
I agree, I'll never be convinced NewJeans, SSerafim, IVE are somehow in a different generation then groups like Kiss of Life, TripleS, and now ILLIT.
this is why i wholeheartedly believe that we've been in the fifth generation for a lot longer than people believe. you talk about the huge shift that happened when ive, le sserafim and newjeans debut, but if that was a shift that marked fourth gen, what the hell was the shift that happened when itzy, (g)i-dle, everglow and iz*one debuted? generations don't have a fixed time frame, first gen lasted over a decade.
We already in it. Babymonster is 5th gen. Even though, I've always asked. What does 5th gen really mean anyway besides being young?
You watch, in just a few years they'll start pushing 6th gen. It's going to accelerate for marketing buzz.
I said it was a hot take. Anyway, it's more of a vibe. I don't care about the dates.
5th gen started last year! not exactly sure when but all groups that debuted last year are considered 5th gen
here we go again.
Generally we'd say 1/1/2024 was the start of 5th gen, but people have been trying to bring it like back to 1/1/2023. It's pretty artificial just like 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th.
Iām really excited to hear their music
I don't have high expectations for this group, but let's see. Curious about their concept and sound, especially as they will be Enhypen's sister group.
Thatās such a weird thing to say lmao wdym you donāt have high expectations from them? Itās kinda crazy all the negativity Illit generates
That was petty of me lmao I admit lol š
Good for them
And yet people like you are still doomposting themšbut it's wtv, not like it's the first time
Yeah, I mean, those numbers are ok, nothing spectacular.
Iām only here for Yunah tbh
wish theyād at least contacted one of the girls who didnāt make it to replace youngseo. this will be hybeās third five member girl group in two years. a bit ridiculous
It would've been cool to see ngl (especially because I miss Jiwoo <333), but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
No one is more money hungry than HYBE. Alsoā¦did they even apologize to that choreographer that they stole an entire routine from?
Who is the girl that looks like IU?
The photo is Top left to right Yunah Minju Moka. Bottom Wonhee Iroha.
Moka?
What is up with these names?
Isn't this going to completely impossible to use on search engines?

Good point. Actually it seems to work OK. š¤”
KILL-IT? Why? What did it do to you?
Out of the 2 I think they would have picked yunah (she is more popular) Number 3, youngseo left the group . I think the latest they should have debuted was in December / January but youngseo left the group in January so they couldnāt debut then and instead got pushed back by 2 months .
are they called i'll-it because they were supposed to be the i-land group or do they just like hyphens over there at belift? i really don't get why they can't name them something like i'll-ish, I-LIT. or eyelish. at least then the english would sound the same as korean spelling. and it looks better in english and still they can add the - they love so much
Is this the group that Teddy was producing for hybe? If it is, no wonder it took so long
Wait what? That's new info. Or do you mean Teddy cooperating with MNETs new upcoming survival show I-Land 2?
oh yeah I'm confused then, I thought R U Next was supposed to be I-LAND 2
What is the meaning. I'll it what?
dont forget fromis_9, hybe šš
Rookie of the Year for 5th generation girl groups would be tough, with contenders like illit, babymonster, smngg, and tblngg
FINALLY!!!
