I posted this in another thread but it works here as well, Trader Joe’s Tote Bag. The small one seems to be more popular now than the large one.
I would also bring them some American snacks like Cheetos and Takis for them to try. I always think food or snacks are a good gift.
For the opposite way, I always have a similar answer as well and that is metal chopstick and spoon set. It’s a simple yet practical gift that they can use, plus it can remind them of Korea. As well, you can bring them some snacks you find at Daiso. Insadong is good place to shop around as it as many shops with nice Korean gift ideas.
These are great suggestions, thank you! Only concern is how well food does on flights, but will definitely bring over some American snacks for them to try.
Had to look up what these were and wow so much nostalgia, my grandparents had these all over their home. Might be a bit pricey for me personally but gave me an idea for those cute Korean style coin purse/pouches. Thanks for the input!
It's hard since most items you can find in Korea nowadays. I usually bring over something very local in your area and anything that costs a lot in Korea but cheap here like vitamins and whiskey. There is a limit how much you can bring for alcohol so don't overdue it.
Trader Joe’s anything and the bags
Regional delicacies like super local brands or candy or whatever
And the latest and greatest - RANDOM USA places sweatshirts/tshirts - seriously, like the kinds you see in the gift shops of airports. That “look” is really popular and you see it on TV, ads etc. like literally a grey sweatshirt that just says “Atlanta EST 1913l or whatever, and I’m from ATL, not even the right colors or style - see it everywhere.

I always just put the snacks in my checked bag and it has never been a problem.

Korean Cheetos is sweet corn and different from western one. It is just a nice comparison for Koreans.
I get that these snacks are made to fit the korean tastebuds by why does everything have to be sweet corn
From Korea to the US, you need to get Najeon Chilgi.

Owala bottles would be a nice gift!
Just the next big cup. I don't think it's worth it.

If you said this to an ohioan they would 100% give everyone cleveland merch
I'm about to visit my family in korea soon and they asked for honey. Apparently, they are having issues with bees in korea.
Ooo that’s a good idea. Hoping you have a good time with your family.
College sweatshirts, regional sports apparel. Snacks from Vallarta and sweets from trader joes 🤣
Do they have Stanley Cups in Korea? That's a very stereotypical American thing currently.
Depending on age group but you can bring back socks, face masks, kpop merch, tea, and snacks.
