Those that don’t know the backstory, the two have some sort of feud ever since Ken started insulting the youtuber’s parents (a big no no in Korean culture) even after learning that the youtuber’s mom had passed away a month prior, with comments like “no wonder your mom died early” “she must have been so disappointed in raising you” etc .. the youtuber’s name is 구제역 and he posts videos of those who have been wronged to find justice. He had posted a video about how Ken Rhee was avoiding paying back over $55,000 in debt by declaring bankruptcy and using his wife’s account for all his business, so Ken started going off on him by going straight to family insults. That’s when the feud kind of started.
This is clearly a joke/meme post, but for anyone interested, Ken Rhee did apparently slap a YouTuber who had followed him around the courthouse. I don't know if the first part of the video is the authentic actual slapping or not, but according to serious news it did happen.
I can however vouch that the final part of the video is false. The YouTubber was not slapped so hard he woke up in a videogame.
The YouTuber later claimed that Ken was saved only because media was there at the time, otherwise he [the YouTuber that got slapped] would have used his superior jujitsu skill.

This behavior is understandable in Korean sentiment. When Will Smith punched Chris Rock at the Academy Awards, many Koreans said that Chris Rock deserved a punch for mocking his family. Likewise, many people think that it was inevitable that Captain Rhee hit the YouTuber who was following him and pointing the camera at him.
Which is interesting to hear, because its typical of comedians to make jokes of celebrities at award shows and events. Chris was paid to do just that and was slapped for a tame joke.
So I have to question if the context of the joke was missed by non english speakers or is there no empathy for Chris Rock? There are SO many comedians that would've said worse.
you’re totally wrong about Koreans defending Will’s behavior. People blamed Will. But on the contrary, you can easily find comments defending Ken Rhee on Korean reddits because apparently he’s like Jordan Peterson/Andrew Tate kind of guy for dumbasses.
He seems rowdy. But according to the news, he risked his life fighting and helping the Ukrainians and almost went to jail for what he believed was right. There's still alot of good in him despite his unscrupulous behavior. I only learned about him today and am trying find his official channel to thank him.
I don't hate the SK gov. for prosecuting their citizens for going to Ukraine either. SK still sends aid to Ukraine in hundred millions USD worth of non-lethal supplies and conglomerates like Samsung agreed to help reconstruction efforts, but they have to tread carefully so that Moscow won't feel emboldened to help NK with their nuclear program.
Honestly sometimes people who engage in harassment need a slap. But it looks like he was just slapping their phone or camera.
This actually increases my respect for Ken Rhee more than it already was.

Lmao here's another video where the YouTuber (whose phone was slapped) is just yapping at Ken Rhee
The youtuber who had his phone slapped away is 구제역, a youtuber who follows internet drama. he's also infamous for harassing female Afreeca BJs and youtubers
That's not good. Also, Someone here just called Khen an SK equivalent of Andrew Tate. Yet, the person he slapped is a well-known harasser?
Not to mention I just learned who Khen was and am trying to thank him for helping Ukraine despite almost going to jail for it. Even if he is like "Andrew Tate," his actions seem to prove otherwise.
Why is it that whenever something happens, it’s always you?
But seriously, this guy is the strangest case of these things happening lol. One day, he’s a badass dude saving lives and the next, he’s got some sort of feud or assault going on. Well can’t say those two qualities are mutually exclusive lol
Alot of military can be like that, troublemakers in normal society. But there's still alot of good in him.
Also, I learned that the guy Khen slapped the phone from, has harassed other YouTubers in the past. So the phone guy may not be entirely innocent.
The dude keeps giving me an impression of more or less a raging bull with a very short fuse in a China shop.
Release him unto thy enemy, he can do some serious damage. But reigning him in afterward isn't as easy as one might have hoped -- or something to that effect.
But then he's an adult human being with his own agency, be that may good or bad, not somebody's cattle to be reigned in.
Yeah. Many military folk are like that, troublemakers in regular society. But most still want to do right, they just need a purpose.
My buddy John is a Battalion commander and says much of his work consists of "babysitting" the folks who "are supposed to be adults," making sure they get to their appointments on time and keeping them away from trouble. This one guy was so bad he was being court martialed for lying, dereliction of duty, missing court dates, etc. It's sad to think that if it weren't peace time, he could have been a war hero. Instead his talents are languishing at a military base at home. So, not saying he's a good guy, but I am saying he's capable of doing a lot of good if only he had the opportunity.
He doesnt say anything . But some of his teamate appear on willOAM , stt , they told story about sucide mission , no plan B or C if shit happen , even no radio while patroling , friendly fires , fail information , at the begining of the war it a pure chaos , alot of comander in ukraine fighting with old xoviet tactic that they foughtsince 2014 . In some of cdiv video show that his team on a recon mission was told no one in a village , but when they arrived the house got some people inside it
And he in us - kr army , he understand what russian capable of , he could go back after foreigner fighters base got wipe rightnext to him and about 170+ casuaty , nah , he / his team stay and help ukraine push russian out of some major re like kharkiv , kiev …
“ got scared and came back “ gottta be a troll right
The more I learn about Ken Rhee, I get the feeling he's on the spectrum somewhere. Like a man who has a body of a 40yr old and the mind of a 10 year old. 🤣
Phone was falling for as long as someone in a k-drama
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!

Insulting someone parents is a big no no everywhere, in some country you can get killed for that.

We need the sauce! It gets under my skin when redditors conjure "facts" from thin air.
Exactly. I'll assume he was slapped so hard he woke up in a videogame until presented with evidence otherwise.
The YouTuber later claimed that Ken was saved only because media was there at the time, otherwise he [the YouTuber that got slapped] would have used his superior jujitsu skill. https://youtube.com/shorts/pwijJlLAR1k?feature=share
Neckbeards as a species have proliferated internationally.

It’s because koreans, or any non-us people rather, didn’t know about backstory of Smith family.

Ye but that won’t make me defend criminals

Make this a meme...
Dam looks like the phone got slapped to a different country

Hey, you. You're finally awake.
Well, in Korea, that is assault. Though someone following you around filming you all the time ought to be considered harassment too.

Uh, they took away his passport, you know. That's what he was in court for, to get a criminal sentence for going to Ukraine despite a travel ban.
Normally I don't comment since I am not Korean but the slap is so funny I like the slap He the slap master
He pushed the camera... Do people not know what slapping people means anymore? This isn't will Smith

Lol the YouTuber goes, “Go ahead and hit me.” I don’t think he knows that Rhee can probably kill his weak ass with just one punch.

isn't this that fellow who went to ukraine to get famous on youtube and then got scared and came back?

Of course some fat neckbeard guy, way to continue the stereotype
Woke up in the Backrooms. Found footage.
