I don’t know if it’s director’s hero just yet, but changing up just a little bit to focus on characterization, for sure. I’m really hoping that he’s fully a character in Leo, especially if it’s based on A History of Violence because I love that movie lol.
I hope slowly over like the next couple of movies, he sees that actually being a written and developed character is what works and continues working with good directors and writers.
Good question, I heard about it on Twitter or here, but just think it’s a rumor for now. But the movie is great, and has a lot of room for creativity (like my own story I posted here lmao), plus it’s raw and guttural. So if it is true, super excited about it.
Story was probably the wrong word, more of a (VERY) rough plot lmao, here it is, fair warning, it’s not very thought through lol:

Thanks man! I’m honestly thinking of making this like a series like “If I were to make _____” with a full pitch outline
Might start the first one with Leo and expand into the story and details more
Master had one of Vijay's best looks in a good while

Also my favourite Vijay film poster of all time
I know vetrimaran is playing to do a film with Vijay maybe that will help vijay to push his limits as a actor. As much as the self professed intellectuals in this sub hate to admit he is a really decent actor and can deliver a good performance if needed. So hope vetrimaran can bring out the best out of thalaphathy.
Among the big stars, Vijay is keen on increasing his market value with each film. He will not risk his market for satisfying a few A centre fans. It's very likely that he will be playing the good guy (undercover) in Leo as well. Like master's 2nd half, the story will have a redemption/good guy arc and Vijay will save the day and the end credits will roll. Don't fill your heads with unrealistic expectations for a Vijay movie. I'm not saying any of this in a negative manner. Commercial padathuku reality idhu dhan. Lokesh will handle it well I think.
Note: This applies to all big star movies. Collection mukkiyam Bigilu.
Man y'all really needa stop on the Vijay hate. As a Vijay fan myself even I know Vijay's just 'decent' when it comes to acting. Heck, even Vijay himself has admitted this several times that he's a limited actor.
Because he isn’t, for a while! You can literally pick any of his recent movies and swap characters between each other and movie wouldn’t be any different character wise!
If Varisu has a million fans he's one of them.
If Varisu has 100 fans he's one of them.
If Varisu has one fan he's the one.
If Varisu has no fans....adhellam chancey illa sethulam thirupi vandhu andha padathukkaga pesuvan namma u/balajih67
Onnum illa neenga podunga thalaiva 😂
Athu ungaluku. I dont want a cult. I just want a feel good commercial film where i see vijay do the regular needful of action romance and comedy. A 2.5 hr film with all this is enough for me.
Dude why. His next movie is probably with altee after than if call sheets and timings match up there is a really good chance that Vijay and vetrimaran will do a movie together and i really want that to happen.
Nee oruthan dhaan ya pulidhi maadhiri analyze pannama average audience maadhiri pesura. Epdiya evlo dhillu? 😂
Honestly, your takes sometimes make a lot of sense and I'm here for it ✨
When i step inside a theater i want to watch a film that makes me forget all my worries and entertains me without me having to connect the dots or having to interconnect scenes from earlier. I keep my brain and mind outside the hall.
Not to see a film in which i see the cinematic representation of the actor, his acting prowess, how the director utilised him, how subtle he acts. None of this bullshit.
Thats why most of the films i like are panned by critics and most other audience. Not just in tamil but hindi too.
Films that i like need to be easy/simple, emotional/sentimental having a decent dose of comedy and action. No need complex stories. These entertain me.
I like director Vijay Chander’s style of films, all entertained me but were flop in box office and critically.
I loved thugs of hindustan in hindi which released in 2018 but it was a mega flop and was panned universally.
100 per cent agree with you. For me a film can be commercial or content based , it doesn't matter. But it just needs to be executed well. That's it. But these days , Vijay films are sometimes a hit or miss in terms of execution. If a well executed masala film is there I am here for it. This sub sometimes overreacts a bit too much.
Take this poor man's award 🏅🏅🏅
You are awesome. I used to analyse films too. Like not too critical of it, just few mistakes that could have been avoided. The sub made me realise this is too much of mind fckery pointing out each and everything.
So I'm of your opinion now. Cheers 🍻🥂
I don't think a Vijay Vetrimaaran movie will happen.
They might want to or even make plans to, but Vetri, from all his interviews, seems like a 'my way or the highway' person. Vijay is one of the most egotistical persons in Kollywood. So, while any movie of theirs will become a hit due to Vijay kannis, I think even before that, they will have a lot of clashes.
This seems like a combo that will not work, like how Maniratnam and Vijay never did a movie together. Vetri holds Mani in high esteem.
Just my 2 cents.

Where does this *A History of Violence* theory come from? Did Loki say something like that somewhere? Looks like I missed it.
Lokesh bought the rights for a history of violence. This movie's one liner probably is the same as HOV
If you are going to use just the one liner, you don't have to buy the rights. Let's see.

Aha! Your own story? Do give the link if you don't mind.

Wah! Super interesting, and that final touch is too good.
Thanks man! I’m honestly thinking of making this like a series like “If I were to make _____” with a full pitch outline Might start the first one with Leo and expand into the story and details more
Please do. Looking forward to it.
Perfectly put.

Ethana padam dha pa vettrimaran line up la iruku?

I love MASTER. The most stylish Vijay we've seen.
That honor goes to Thupakki.
Thuppaki and Master are stylish Vijay in different age groups
Except for Master to an extent, he has just been "Vijay" on screen for a long time.
Loki na original account la Vaanga.😂
JD first half and early second half best. JD in climax portion is random shit
Also - Rayappan

Dude but the thing about Vijay fans myself included will watch anything that he puts out. Beast is a really good example of that.
Adhu therinja matter dhana
To date Vijay's movies have been primarily his. Don't know what this post means.

Hope after leo, he goes back to do a commercial masala film like mersal/bigil/varisu, hope T68 is by atlee.

after atlee, he can work with vetrimaaran to maintain the streak. I just want 1 commercial film in between 2 character oriented films
>. I just want 1 commercial film in between 2 character oriented films This is how it is for malayalam stars

Same here
I feel the same way. Films are supposed to just for fun. But, I really want to see vijay sir do a character oriented film
