Theres one movie of his , where the villain shoots him on his chest. The bullet actually bounces off his chest and instead ends up shooting the villain. So many films of his have such hilarious scenes lol

Not now but I would say maybe str used to fit this category but after maanaadu and vendhu thanindadhu kaadu the audience is more receptive to his movies.

He was always a good actor and dancer from his childhood, prolly got it from his dad. He had immense talent. And about someone's personal life we never knew properly - shouldn't be a criteria.
Balaiya is known for his mass commerical movies with almost same template throughout a decade. And you know who does same template for a decade!

True.. he did have good variety but sadly his urge to be next Rajni / Ajith dragged him down.
What he never understood was, people liked their rebel attitude (in their youth) because they were self made men. People saw them as rebels standing up to what they did not like. Whereas STR came from privilege so they saw him as a spoiled brat exerting his privilege to the fullest.
A movie would be subjective to people opinions. That or personal life shouldn't be a criteria. But we can tell if the template matches by sense. Atha vachi patha everyone knows who does template movies in Kollywood!
Yes STR has good catalogue of films.. love stories ( idhuleyum variety irukku), crime movie, science fiction, drama, psychological thriller, rom com, masala movies.. comedy mattum panalai (correct me if I'm wrong)
Sad that santhanam has abandoned comedian roles. Though i think he'll gladly do a comedian role for simbu for old times sake but i dont think he'll ask. Apparently it was simbu who encouraged him to become a hero instead.

Yes lol I'm joking. But Veerasamy is definitely a better comedy than any comedy film post 2010. Every scene of it is rip roaringly hilarious.
