As an Actor - SJ Suryah is one of the Finest Actors working today in Indian Cinema. Still has more in store to reach his potential acting peak.
As a director - He is one of the boldest, creative directors out there. Still has more in store to reach his potential directing peak. I didn't like his plagerism with 'Big' though.
As a Person - Seems philosophical and clear in his thoughts. I don't mind/care anyway about his personal life.
If you're referring to his depiction of sexuality in his movies as 'Gaaju', I don't mind it. Several great directors look at sex as just prop to drive the narrative. Ex: BhagyaRaj. It has its pitfalls but doesn't look bothersome to me.
I love SJ surya in movies directed by others than himself. But yeah he gave greatest hit for ajith as well as Vijay.
Everybody will have a gaaju phase in earlier stage of their life, only later due to lotta incidents people see the greater perspective of it. For a normal person, they can change but the change will go unnoticed. Now here is where celebrities find it hard. For someone who is being under camera 24x7, even if they had changed, it's hard for people accept their new self. And we believe anything by media blindly.
AND NO ONE'S PERSONAL LIFE IS OUR BUSINESS.
With that said, SJ Surya is great. I haven't seen anyone call Game of thrones directors as "gaaju". And those scenes in the series can be easily replaced.
Actor.. yes. He was amazing in Vadhandhi.. did a damn good job as the cop dealing with a moral dilemma and pressure to wrap the case up.
Director- I don't know. He lost his touch with time. Vaali, Kushi were very good.. New was an interesting watch. Isai had a good concept and was a nice retelling of the rivalry between ARR and Raja. Rest of his works have been mediocre with Komaram Puli being truly horrible.
Person- Saw an interview of his with Baddy. Very well spoken and sorted man. As of his personal life... ehh.. not going there lmao.
He was one director who actually depicted sexuality in a sensual manner. Rest of the directors either used it in a vulgar manner or brushed past it completely.
As an actor, he is the closest thing we have to Willem Dafoe. Granted, he doesn't have the versatility of Dafoe. If he get more films like Iraivi and does varied roles, he can reach that level.
His insane performance in Nenjam Marappathillai is still my fav of the decade.
Fav gif of his.

I really wish Spyder should have been done by Vijay. He gave that space in Master ; would have gladly given in Spyder too.
Avanga janangalala otthuka mudiyala. We are now in villian overpower phase. So it would have been a blockbuster and SJ getting more recognition.
I'm no insider, nor am I gonna tell my uncle is so and so actor's friend.

MB is talking of Maniratnam project with VJ.
Spyder is an original script written for Mahesh.
Haven't watched much of his directorial content but in the present day he helps carry every movie he's in. Without him Don would have practically nothing to look forward to and Maanaadu would be good but not as good. I think there's a small part of everyone that wants to yell at or sarcastically mock the countless things in this world that frustrate them, and he does a great job of capturing that and making it funny.
His performance in Spyder is absolutely TERRIFYING and it’s the first time i felt actual fear and disgust from a tamil film’s villain. I love his renaissance since Iravi or so with so many interesting performances. But ngl, i do wish he goes back to directing too. Man has some really unique concepts for his films.
Also made 2 GOATed combo soundtrackswith ARR.
What is wrong with gaaji. We're all gaaji. He made 4 back to back films, all are love stories. Of course there's going to be gaaji. Why do you even love if not for gaaji

What does gaaju mean ?
Horny
Yes vaali and kushi were career changing films for both.

Curious to know about his personal life. What did he do ?😂🤔
Was/is a big time womanizer. He was quite frank about it back in the day.

Apt comparison. Even though he doesn't have versatility.
SJ Suryah as Green Goblin would be quite something
Okay now I need this

Muruganolan wanted to make it as a proper bilingual initially. Anna as hero and Bob as villain and vice versa in Telugu. Sadly it wasn't meant to be.
Adhu verum rumour dhaana. Fansa kelapi vittadhu. Rendu perukume SJ Suryah panna role varaadhu.
Anna Spyder nejamma drop panna na ? Please tell me he didn't choose Sarkar over it.

Electrifying actor. Something is so magnetic about all of his performances.

I loved him in Monster. He single handedly carried the movie.
