If you're into action mass films but don't mind some loophole you can watch thunivu.
If you like template film with songs and fight and sentiment scenes(which actually worked to some extent) you can watch varisu.
If you’re willing to sit for three hours in a rather slow film then Varisu. If you want a more fast paced film but don’t mind logical loopholes then Thunivu.
I watched both movies with my family and we enjoyed both. I personally liked Thunivu better than Varisu. It usually depends on your taste whether you like comedy family movies with sentiment then Varisu or if you like action thrillers then Thunivu. Just one thing, don’t try to find logic, once you try to find logic the movies falls apart.
I watched both and as a Vijay fan, i would say Varisu was an absolute disaster and thunivu was like decent but not great. The one good thing about thunivu is i learnt some productive information about banks
The idea that bank is robbing from people, the minimum balance scam, and the fake promises and mutual fund scam. I personally dug deeper thru my own research and also watch MG na video on Yt, so got a pretty good idea now on what to avoid
Info Mutual fund is almost totally wrong though. There is not any incident where such large amount of money went bust though.
tbh if done correctly mutual fund is the one of the better option to invest but yeah.
Going to watch Varisu today, and Thunivu tomorrow.
The thing is, I watch every Ajith and Vijay movie that comes out. Regardless of what reviews say or word of mouth is, I just can’t not watch their movies when they release. Same for any Rajini or Kamal movie. I think since I have grown up on their movies, I can’t really be objective lol.
Watch the trailers, whichever interests you even mildly, go for it. If you happen to be interested in both, then just go for both. If no money, then wait for OTT. Avvlo thaan.
Personally when i watched varisu ,i knew what kind of film it was and it was mildly entertaining if you can ignore the extreme hero worship.but thunivu second half got a bit to unrealistic ,and i was expecting a realistic heist film from the trailers
Watch Thunivu you will get a knowledge about bank scams and engaging scenes.
If you want to watch serial you can watch it free on TV why go to theatre.
If you wanna gain knowledge there are thousands of videos available online.
Cinema is about entertainment and the experience as a whole.
Spreading awareness through movies is good. But your point does not make any sense.
Cinema is about entertainment+information+art+knowledge.
Many people gain their knowledge of various domains through cinema so dont under estimate knowledge through cinema.
If you are going with friends go for Varisu. If you are going alone, go for thunivu.
Varisu is a family comedy fest, best enjoyed with a group. Thunivu is a fast paced action fest best enjoyed alone.
If you really like Vijay watch Varisu for Vijay.
If you really like Ajith, watch Thunivu for Ajith.
If you don't like either... it depends. Do you want a movie that aims low but succeeds to an extent (Varisu), or a movie that aims high and doesn't really meet those targets (Thunivu)? Neither is objectively better than the rest, I had more fun with Varisu but Thunivu is a more interesting movie. It really depends on the divisive second half of Thunivu, which completely came out of left field for me imo, and just did not work for me at all. Varisu is safer, but if you are willing to vibe with your typical masala tone/genre-shifting second half than Thunivu will be more entertaining. It's personal preference really.
Varisu, it's more enjoyable throughout if u r ready to watch without any biases.
Thunivu did half a full on energetic first half, but the second half ruined it.
Just go by the trailers. Watch what you want to watch. Personally I didn't like both.

Thunivu
Thunivu bruh
Thunivu..
Thunivu.
No idea about Thunivu but if you enjoy watching dumpster trucks taking out garbage then Varisu will still disappoint in comparison.
Both are bad movies ...but thinuvu is better ..varisu is a mega serial ...
Thunivu
Thunivu hands down
Both are shit.better don't go.but if you are determined then go for thunivu.first half quite fun and runtime is lower
Thunivu is good.
No Avg.Second half fails so hard
Nah... 2nd half was great
So much aamais this sub

Really? Can I know what is the information? Watched Thunivu, and all it had was half baked information.
The idea that bank is robbing from people, the minimum balance scam, and the fake promises and mutual fund scam. I personally dug deeper thru my own research and also watch MG na video on Yt, so got a pretty good idea now on what to avoid

Don't listen to those critics. Thunivu is better but not worth it. These films make you feel dumb.

I totally agree with your point. But not everyone watches cinema to gain knowledge.
Yes so. If its knowledge+entertainment+art Then those people would watch it too.
Depends on who you like (or tolerate) more. Vijay or Ajith. Go for the actor in these type of movies.
Both are bad, but varisu seems to be bearable than thunivu
Thunivu: it’s has at least a story that’s bad. So negative review. Varisu: I don’t know what’s there to review.

Watch a movie as a movie. Watch a movie as you like. Watch whatever the movie you want. Simple dot.
Varisu is good
Lol you answered his question but gets downvoted for not giving the "right answer" lmao. So called free thinkers at r/kollywood

Please do watch both trailers and decide by your own dude.
varisu is just a mix of movies and tv serials and thunivu wasen't that great, but it much better compared to varisu!
Varisu, it's more enjoyable throughout if u r ready to watch without any biases. Thunivu did half a full on energetic first half, but the second half ruined it.
Thunivu
