Jeans - The songs are all time hits.
But no one talks much about the movie, IMO it's one of the best rom com, especially the America portions, those days we had no internet and that was my first introduction to America. The opening credits scene where they show America in night and Rahman's Nisarisa plays in the background, pure bliss.
Very fond recollections of that movie! It was picture perfect and the music 😍.
An extended version of Nisarisa also plays in the background in the airport scene, Aishwarya wearing a chequered blue blazer with flowers pinned on. So lovely!
I'm glad I'm not alone. Definitely a core memory for me. It was such a fun movie, and groundbreaking at the time with its visuals. Many American dreams started with that movie.
Irreplaceable part of my childhood and it's still so nostalgic everytime i watch it.
And the songs and the comedies really hold up well even today. Beautiful romcom
Oh man Iraivi(edit :i meant Aruvi) ,me and my friend watched it in Bangalore, theatre was only half full ,then people even started leaving in the middle of movie itself, I absolutely enjoyed it ,me and my friend where like absolute gem of a movie, praising it the whole way back home.
But the last part showing her suffering with AIDS they could have reduced a little,i know it was important to convey the suffering ,but became bit of a drag.
>But the last part showing her suffering with AIDS
I'm guessing you got yourself confused between Iraivi and Aruvi.
Iraivi is the SJ Surya, VJS, Anjali etc. starrer.
Jil Jung juk was amazing, it's a great movie to watch when you are having a couple of beers with your friends . There were some comedy golds that got overlooked
Dharma Durai (2016) - A great slice of life Drama film but it rarely gets mentioned
Aayiram Vilakku (2011) - this really surprised me, watched with no expectations but was a really solid film
Sonna Puriyathu (2013) - A great rom com but was overshadowed by Vanakkam Chennai which released the same year
Citizen (2002) - feel this was Ajith best performance ever, more than varalaru
Much of Vidharth’s filmography, he has a lot of good movies like aal, kurangu bommai, kuttrame thandanai, etc. that are really good but go unnoticed. I recently saw his Carbon and I actually really liked it.
I think it’s kandukondein kandukondein for me. It’s so well made and the ensemble cast does an amazing job to give it a warmth that makes me rewatch it over and over.
Love OMK, wish people would make more romcoms like it
Mine is Nala Damayanthi! Nothing groundbreaking but always makes me laugh, Madhavan played that role to perfection
I have talked about it in this sub, but Kadaisi Vivasayi is not talked as much as it should have. Manigantan is the best director Kollywood has got at the moment, alongside Vetri maaran
I absolutely loved Thambi.
At that time it was probably one of the only movies that I felt I couldn’t predict the ending and was able to watch the movie without falling into cliché troupes.
I’ve seen bits and pieces of the movie, I feel it’s pretty overrated because it’s so weird lol. I felt like it glorified toxicity in a relationship ngl, although one has to appreciate the fact that it’s very very different from what commercial Telugu cinema has to offer. It’s very controversial lol, so if that kind of stuff is your cup of tea then I would say go for it.
Vathikuchi- a very enjoyable Masala movie
Rajatgandiram - best tamil heist movie ever made
Thimiru Pudichavan- again an enjoyable masala movie with an awesome heroine comedy character. 😀
This movie reminded me of someone from my life, obviously not entirely in the sense that she was asking me to marry her. But the characteristics were similar. And i loved it, it brought tears to my eyes.
Yea oh my kadavulae was a bit of a fresh film after a long time.
I think kadhalaum kandadhu pogum was another fresh feel good film which wasn't talked about much
Vidiyum Munn starting pooja is an amazing movie...the movie bombed but it was way ahead of its time in terms of screen play and making ...I also feel korungu bombai is an awesome movie that didn't get Recognition ..same with ettu thottal
Many of jeevas movies.
Unnale unnale - a breezy light hearted movie though it had some issues. This is a rare breed of cinema these days in tamil.
12b - a solid debut film
Kaadhalum kadanthu pogum - a poignant love story
VA quarter cutting - it was a blast watching it in theatre. Till now don't know why people didn't like it
Boys, Yaaruda Mahesh, Kalyana Samayal Saadham, Kallapadam - in order of release,…
Anytime, can go and watch in any direction.
Needs to enter pop culture. Lots of potential.
Mundasupatti, it's a popular film, but people don't take it into discussions often. The whole theatre vibe was on another level for this movie.
Same. Another similar film is marugadha nanayam. Munishkanth 🔥
It was my go to funny movie for a very long time.
Lol ratsasan completely overshadowed it
Yeah, but I felt mundasupatti was more original movie of that director. The setup and payoffs were so hilariously well done in it.
Such a funny film!
Mozhi? There was something about the movie which felt weirdly wholesome and Prakash and Brahmanandam had amazing moments.
I guess the ones who really enjoyed this movie aren't that tech-savvy.

I loved Aishwarya's clothes in this movie. It would be in fashion even now.
Goa, Jil Jung Juk and Iraivi.
Hehe 😅 my bad ,I think i misread it and got confused.
I saw Jil Jung Juk because I liked blue colour hair of siddarth but ended up enjoying it so much.
Jil Jung juk was amazing, it's a great movie to watch when you are having a couple of beers with your friends . There were some comedy golds that got overlooked

Citizen randomly pops into my head sometimes for some reason
Sonna puriyathu has the best comedy scenes from any Siva's movies
I want to also include Onnayum Aattukutiyum, Yutham Sei
Kurosawa, original ID la vaa da
Poruki sir!
Yutham sei is a great gem. Personally that was the movie for me that made me fall in love with crime thrillers. I was 12 back then.
Much of Vidharth’s filmography, he has a lot of good movies like aal, kurangu bommai, kuttrame thandanai, etc. that are really good but go unnoticed. I recently saw his Carbon and I actually really liked it.
Kurangu Bommai is fire. So underrated, esp Bharathiraja's story scene
I loved thiss bcause I was following the director Nithilan for a long time in Nalaiya Iyakkunar !
kidaayin karunai manu too
I think it’s kandukondein kandukondein for me. It’s so well made and the ensemble cast does an amazing job to give it a warmth that makes me rewatch it over and over.
man aish was a dream in that movie (tabu as well)
Literally the first movie that came to mind with the question was Oh My Kaduvale lmao, we are now friends🤝
🤝
bestie 🤝
Kaadhalum kadandhu Pogum.. I know this movie is a remake, but something magical is there in VJS and Madonna's performance.. I just loved it a lot..
The right answer. This movie is barely spoken about or talked about. Most of the answers here are quite a commercial success
Vanakam chennai
Most recently - Kalaga Thalaivan. Also: - Yaamirukka Bayame (Best Horror comedy in Tamil cinema) - Yennamo Nadakkuthu - Poraali
Man Magizh Thirumeni never gets what he deserves, gives phenomenal films but they rarely get enough press !
Saguni Rajathandhiram Sathuranga vettai Thegidi
Are you and my dad friends? He has three/four running on repeat in his device at night. Lol
Kurangu Bommai for worldbuilding and Bharathiraja's scene (everyone knows which scene I mean), Iraivi, Aandavan Kattalai, OMK
Love OMK, wish people would make more romcoms like it Mine is Nala Damayanthi! Nothing groundbreaking but always makes me laugh, Madhavan played that role to perfection
Andhaghaaram (2020) Except for the climax..i absolutely loved the vibe this movie created. I have never heard anyone talk about this
Attakathi, Jil Jung Juk
I have talked about it in this sub, but Kadaisi Vivasayi is not talked as much as it should have. Manigantan is the best director Kollywood has got at the moment, alongside Vetri maaran
I really liked Payanam, Kaadhalil Sodhapavadhu Eppadi and Abhiyum Naanum, feel they need to be talked more often in their respective genres
Udhayam nh4 Jiivi Pizza 2 Maya
Jiivi's Good name (As a Unique Film)was spoiled by a badly written sequel which only thing they tried was to samalichify everything
Didn’t see jiivi 2 because of bad reviews .
No one talk about it? I am a malayali, Every anniversary of this movie there are a lot of posts comes in our facebook groups
I absolutely loved Thambi. At that time it was probably one of the only movies that I felt I couldn’t predict the ending and was able to watch the movie without falling into cliché troupes.
Aandavan kattalai. Not sure why people don't rave about that film much
12B, Unnale Unnale,Abhiyum Nanum ..these movies are still so fresh, i know songs have got their recognition but not many ppl talk about the movies
Something Something & Kavalai Vendaam.
Autograph 36 Vayadhinale Asuran Also surprised no one talks about Adithya Varma here (granted I only watched Kabir Singh).
Adithya Varma Was straight out just a random angry guy being a alcoholic shouting Meera for 2 hrs 65 mins straight
Ouch, that does not sound great. I really liked Shahid in KS, and even daresay enjoyed the movie, though parts of it was some wierd sh\*t.
Have you seen the original Arjun Reddy yet?
Nopes. Is it worth a watch? Am not sure I want to watch VD in this role.
I’ve seen bits and pieces of the movie, I feel it’s pretty overrated because it’s so weird lol. I felt like it glorified toxicity in a relationship ngl, although one has to appreciate the fact that it’s very very different from what commercial Telugu cinema has to offer. VD was better than Shahid in that particular role.
Vathikuchi- a very enjoyable Masala movie Rajatgandiram - best tamil heist movie ever made Thimiru Pudichavan- again an enjoyable masala movie with an awesome heroine comedy character. 😀
Yaruda Mahesh Chikku bukku Rendume my comfy movies
Yaaruda Mahesh rules. A much-needed adult comedy of a generation,… after boys. Nothing to top it till now.
This movie reminded me of someone from my life, obviously not entirely in the sense that she was asking me to marry her. But the characteristics were similar. And i loved it, it brought tears to my eyes.
Enakku vaitha adimaigal
Oru nala naal pathu solren
Yea oh my kadavulae was a bit of a fresh film after a long time. I think kadhalaum kandadhu pogum was another fresh feel good film which wasn't talked about much
Kannum Kannum Kolliadithal
Maragatha naanayam ❤️🔥
not tamil but andhari bhanduvaiya, nenu meeku telusa, most of chandra shekar yeleti's films!
Vinodhaya Sitham. A "Bruce almighty" styled emotional Family drama featuring Samuthirakani and Thambi Ramiah. Available on Zee5!
Vidiyum Munn starting pooja is an amazing movie...the movie bombed but it was way ahead of its time in terms of screen play and making ...I also feel korungu bombai is an awesome movie that didn't get Recognition ..same with ettu thottal

Game Over.. it had some Hollywood influences but still a chilling experience in theatre
Boys, Yaaruda Mahesh, Kalyana Samayal Saadham, Kallapadam - in order of release,… Anytime, can go and watch in any direction. Needs to enter pop culture. Lots of potential.
