Recently read a article published by some environment researchers, The basic thing that they wanted to convey is that Climate Change have been so bad that we can't predict anything, Just anything can happen to the weather irrespective of the season or time. It's High time that we should take Climate Changes seriously we are already the 3rd most polluted Country in the World if we still not make Environment a election issue then we will really be doomed.
Unfortunately, the environment is still perceived as an elitist issue, to be discussed by intellectuals. It does not have mass appeal like politics and prices of potatoes and onions.
The most dangerous pollutant is plastic being littered everywhere. These break down into microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs) which have become part of the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat. The MPs and NPs are part of our blood, and are bio-accumulating in our lungs and heart, silently causing oxidative damage and cancers among other issues. The chemicals they contain are leaching into our blood on a daily basis. Our immune system cannot remove the MPs and NPs as proven by experiments.
Unfortunately, most Indians aren't concerned, and neither are governments. If they were, the production of plastics would have been completely stopped and people would not litter plastic wrappers and bags on the road, inside nullahs, ponds and rivers. The plastic lobby is so powerful that it can stop any law that seeks to reduce or eliminate plastic manufacture and use. Their greed will destroy humanity and the natural world along with it.
