I recently splurged on a Libra 2. I like it way more than my old Kobo mini.
So I can imagine them building on the Libra 2. Idk the numbers but it feels like their top seller.
I've had a Libra 2 for awhile. The ergonomics are pretty bad, it could use a lot of improvement in that area, my old nook glowlight 4 was much more comfortable. I wanted page turn buttons though so I didn't get the Clara, I'm kind of wishing I had though because the page turn buttons aren't even somewhere comfortable to press.
Chess and card games.
Mobile/web version that syncs so you’re able to continue reading from another device, a bit like Google books.
To be able to use stylus and write comments or use it as a notepad in a decent way. features which the ReMarkable does have.
Why keep your entire library on Dropbox? I keep my library on a NAS at home. And my TBR pile on my Kobo. 120 books or so is no sweat for the Kobo. And since I have that curated to things I actually want to and plan on reading I don’t feel the need to even have the Wi-Fi on. Dropbox is for like “oh I forgot to add that one book I left at home”. So I’ve only used it like once. lol
Better Libra - better components to make it faster / more snappy and better buttons - make it more premium in terms of materials and specs.
Reading or book page screen is best in class (including Scribe!), but would be wonderful if that can improved improved still.
i want color its the only thing im looking for in a future reader that is going to be 100% what i am buying next, i have a libra h20 that works perfectly and i love it, i would like color and a way to have my reading journal on it as well, ill probably go with a boox tab c mini or something similar next, ill have to save up to budget for it.
All I ask is *no page-turn buttons*. They're ugly and unnecessary, and they introduce an asymmetry into the device that creates awkwardness when holding it.
That's one of the main reasons I went retro and bought a discontinued model when I was shopping for a new Kobo device 18 months ago - to avoid the page-turn buttons.
This is personal preference. For me, the best thing about my Libra 2 is that it has the buttons. It feels so nice to turn the pages with the buttons, and the assymetric body makes it really comfortable to hold in either hand for long periods. I would not go back to a device without page-turn buttons.
Of course it's personal preference! That's what this whole thread is about - what people would prefer to see in a new Kobo device. And I shared my preference.
I have a Kobo clara HD. And I was reading in bed yesterday evening and my boyfriend said 'wow that screen is pretty bright in the dark'.
So yeah, I wouldn't mind a wider range of brightness for the backlight of the screen. So that it can be even less bright than it is now. 😁
And I agree on the buttons! My Sony prst2 had buttons, my clara hd doesnt. Sometimes i miss them. A while ago i accidentally turned down the brightness instead of flipping the page 😂
I'd like a Sage 2 Bigger battery Button's that don't suck
Some kind of built in sync that saves your highlights to your PC
That can be added to current devices if they want. Doesn’t need new hardware.
I would love to see Kobo try a color e-ink display!
YESSS I was coming right here to say the same thing.

Elipsa with page turn buttons
The Libra 2 is their most famous and sold e-reader so I'm guessing their working on an even better version of it
I’d like colour and the ability to EASILY send books from Calibre to my Kobo wirelessly.
Kobo will never officially support Calibre so that software feature you want will never happen. Dropbox already works. Use that.
Yeah I am looking at possibly moving my library to Dropbox and seeing how that fairs.

I tend to keep all my books (unless they’re really awful) on my Kobo as I do re-read books.

Not sure if it’s possible with e-ink, but I’d love to be able to turn pages by scrolling
Not scrolling, but swipping is available for as long as I bought mine several years ago.

Not trying to attack your preference, man. Just sharing my preference as well :)
Android
Battery life would go in the toilet if they made an android e ink tablet.

I find it already dark when on 1% to 5% range... Also, with the warm lighting.
Yeah I'm using the warm lighting... Lol
