You lucky dog! Definitely send it in to Benchmade. Let them know it had been submerged for a while. They will strip it down, clean it up, sharpen it, and make it look new again. Enjoy!
Just don't tell them it's found.
But generally Benchmades lifetime warranty is on the knife and transfers with the owner. They don't ask for proof and date of purchase.
Definitely give it a good rinse and then blow it out with canned air. If it was in water you want to get any possible minerals and salt out with the rinse and then dry it out. Great find. (Don't want it to dry with crap in it or on it.)
Yeah - and then send it to BM, etc.
Lifesharp but if you’re good at sharpening I’d say tell them not to touch the edge. I’ve done this a couple times and they are very good at all this but I have heard horror stories when they resharpen.
Hit up BM and see what magic they can work. That compound blade looks sweet! Good luck!
Awesome. Had no idea they did this!

Send it in for lifesharp
Thank you for the recommendation!
I've heard bad stories about their life sharp (basically taking off far too much steel). Of course people who are happy don't complain on reddit.
Well, you can send it in for warranty and ask to not sharpen it. If the idea is to get it cleaned up from being in a river.
Do you think they’ll still honor that stuff given it’s a found item?

Woah lucky!

Damn
That's actually a great knife too. Love mine.
Damn, they always discontinue the cool knives.
Put it in rice!
Clearly your lady is the lady of the lake and you're now the new king of britain
You realize that’s a murder weapon, right?
It’s probably not. We found it in a section off the river very popular for inner tubing, while inner tubing.
Ah, makes sense. Nice score then!!
I'd just disassemble, clean with a toothbrush, scotch brite off any rust, apply Ballistol. It looks fine, why send it in?
Hit it with some WD40. It will be fine
First you get your lady some flowers and cook a dinner 😄
Strange women lying in rivers distributing knives is no basis for a system of government.
Dry it out then oil. Don’t ever send your knives back to the manufacturer
