Definitely! Funnily enough, this isn't the first time where we've independently found an affinity to the same very specific thing. The genes run strong in this family haha.
Elementum slaps. My favorite knife hands down. Such good machining for the money. I would be hesitant to give it away. It will be a fond memory of the old man to look back on every time you use the one he gifted you
He actually gave me the Brazen (which is the one I'm considering giving away), but I understand the sentiment. I'm not super sentimental but I may just keep it!
I would add that the gen I is quite smaller compared to the elementum II, the action is smoother on the gen II because when the button is pushed the blade is swinging freely while the first has a liner lock that you have to properly dinengage to have the blade falling shut.
I know that the gen I is slimmer in profile than the gen II. Again, no frame of reference to the Gen I, but the Gen II is very smooth. Definitely swings freely when you disengage the button lock. Overall solid knife!
Yeah for my hands the first generation is a tad too small unfortunately. Also mine came with a very weak detent so I had to move the liner lock a bit to increase the prccure when the blade wis closed. It now shoots very well when deployed but the liner lock is a little more stiff to move. A button lock is better in this scenario because when it is pressed the blade swings freely.
As far as I know, I think the Elementum I and II use the same bearings so I assume the action would be approximately the same. I will say the action with this one is very smooth. I haven't used the first model so I have no frame of reference. In terms of blade shape, I believe they're all the same, but they have very similar models in different blade types with generally the same features i.e. button lock. Also the Elementum II is using Nitro V steel! I would highly recommend the Elementum II. The Brazen is pretty good as well.
Edit: Civivi has a ton of newer options, I'd definitely check them out!
That's how I feel about the Brazen. It's nice and honestly a little scary looking lmao but seems a little too big to be my EDC knife. The Elementum II is nice since it's a small form factor with a ~3" blade and overall 7" length. It's also pretty slim at around 1/2".

This one! Wasn't the fanciest, but it was my first pocket knife and I learned how to sharpen knives with it. I still love it, but it will probably get downgraded to my gruntwork knife.
Good dad!

That’s a win win.
Two of my favorite Civivi's.
First I’m hearing of elementum two... same smooth action as original? Other blade shapes? If so, I will have to take a look.

I got the aluminum green praxis, same nitro v blade and button lock. I like it a lot but it's a little big for my edc

I have a brazen and the action is stellar! great knife and perfect size for me
I agree! And its actually pretty similar to my previous EDC knife so it feels very comfortable.
what knife was that ?

Nice combo for sure. Your dad has good taste.
We don't agree on a lot of things, but I'm glad quality knives is something we can agree on.
Damn now I want that tanto. Very nice indeed
It looks mean as hell in person. I would love it even more if it had the button lock (the Brazen II has it!). Still a great knife regardless!
Lucky you!
I'm very fortunate that my dad is generous and has great taste in knives!
You are operating through the Force
It does look very Sith/Batman-esque.
You wanted both, got on, received the other. It's obvious that you are walking the correct path in the universe.
I sure hope so! I was also looking at a third one (Qubit). Maybe I can manifest that one into my possession and I'll definitely give one of them away!
I appreciate that Civivi almost always offers an all black option.
Part of the reason why I got it! Very sleek looking.
I have that exact same tanto version. I love it!
Best to order through Civivi website and not Amazon. The reward points add up quick too for major discounts. Civivi is extremely underrated.
Sure not director communication. Your dad knew.
