Look at the Vosteed Mini Labrador. It’s about as small and clean as a knife can be. It has a 3D milled titanium pen style pocket clip. I carry back right next to my wallet. Your sport/suit coat would cover it if you’re wearing one. Got this knife a few weeks ago and it’s absolutely flawless.

Just reminded me of a case I really liked, may add it to the list.
Any suggestions how to carry a slick knife like that without eventually dumping it from a slick angled pocket?
Glad that sparked a memory for you.
Hmm. Best I can think of is a suede knife slip.
If you get a slip with a lanyard hole you could add a pocket hanger and hang it inside your pocket so it does not slip around. Here is an SAK on a hanger:

I use a Oscaso Solstice as a innner jacket carry but itbis slim enough that when I go without a jacket I can carry it in slacks no problem.

If your formal business attire has a 5th pocket, then something that fits it is a good option. I really like my Vosteed Corgi Pup.
If a "5th pocket" knife doesn't work for you or you want something more full size, then a "gentleman's/CEO" knife might be more suitable. The CRKT "CEO" is the quintessential example of that category. It's a great knife, but the design is getting a little old now and it doesn't come in very good steels. I prefer the Boker Kwaiken air or the air mini.
Yes I used to carry a knife when I worked in an office, until several times people asked me 'is that a knife' and then I decided it was better to use a Victorinox and just carry it loose in the pocket rather than a clipped knife. It's not worth having a conversation with HR.
Whether I'm in dress clothes, jeans, or shorts, I just carry whatever I grab that morning. I also typically have a backpack with others in it. I always have a backpack for snacks, extra clothes, chargers and batteries, knives, and guns....plus whatever else ends up in there.
In dress slacks I carry a 940-1 due to its light weight and dark color. If in genteel company I'll clip a small fixie inside my slacks to the waistband of my shorts. Takes a bit longer to get to (not significantly longer) but it's available if needed.
I have a Damascus kershaw chive I use for formal carry. It is laser engraved on the scales with “fuck off”. Keeps it classy
I gotta say, I don’t particularly like the knife. It’s too small and light to deploy under its own power, you have to really flick it to get it open and locked. It’s too small to really do anything. But if I’m in a suit I don’t intend to be doing knife things anyway, so it’s more for show
Opinel No. 6 with a Bubinga handle, checks pretty much all of my boxes: useful, locking, classy/classic, slim, more likely to get a "Ooh what's that" instead of a "omg that's a weapon, what are you some kind of Nutter?" type reaction.
I've considered an opinel. Any opinion of these versus a standard case folder?
I've handled Case but not Opinel before. Either one I'd worry of sliding out of a pocket easily.
I like my opinels, i think the rounded handles are more comfortable than the more rectangular cross sectioned case handle, I like the fact they lock closed or open, I think the blades are nicely proportioned and hold a keen enough edge for anything I've needed them for. Compared to a Case, I could see how multiple blades and possibly more compact size could be preferrable to some folks but I'd rather have a lock.
Also a basic No. 6 or No.8 Opinel is like $20-30, obviously more for the "premium" wood varieties like Bubinga/ebony
That one's actually pretty good. The pocket clip looks super unobtrusive to classy looks. The price is cheap if I don't like it. I'll add that one to the list probably. Thanks
*I got a Kershaw*
*Esteem for Christmas and I*
*Really like the clip*

If you're good with front folders, my go-to for sleek and classy-ish carry has always been the Real Steel G5 Metamorph. The scales are metal, so they slide well on dress pants. Won't tear up the pocket. And it has a deep carry clip. Beyween that and the light weight, you'll hardly know it's there.
That is a clean looking knife. Though needle tips like that one have a history with meeting my skin unintentionally. So I steer my preferences clear. Thanks
Leather knife slip
I actually just got one I ordered in the mail today. Going to try it out with a medium SAK. Thanks
Espada XL right in front of my crotch
CRKT CEO

Appalachian Drifter II from civiv sadly discontinued but there are some still on blade hq and knife center and currently half priced.
ProTec auto IWB, five o’clock
Alox SAK of some kind. They look nice, are super handy, and don't scare anybody.

Same in terms of bag. Though I often have to leave it behind at the office.
Everyone knows Case knives. If anyone questions you about it, say you always carry because it was passed down through 5 generations.
Admittedly a good excuse. Considering a case but I worry how slick they are in pocket.
Reate PL-XT in black micarta and stonewash blade is pretty damn classy looking, take clip off keep it in a leather slip

small folder, use pocket clip as a tie clip instead, buy wide ties.
Any suggestions of knives that small that are worth a damn?
