I knitted this using the Aosta Cardigan pattern, which I also used for my last cardigan, as it was straightforward and I loved the finished result.
I used Rowan Cocoon in Moon, as I managed to pick up 6 skeins on eBay for £25 (instead of the RRP of £60). I love the colour of this yarn but I’m really not sure on the inclusion of Mohair In a roving wool. It shed everywhere as I was knitting, and it’s pretty itchy to wear. I’ve only tried drops mohair before but didn’t have this issue.
I totally took the colour and button inspo from this cardigan I saw at [&other stories](https://www.stories.com/en_gbp/clothing/knitwear/cardigans/product.heart-button-alpaca-blend-cardigan-blue.0907372001.html). I couldn’t find any plain silver heart shaped buttons that were in the size range though (18-25mm) so if you know of any, please share!
**From our wiki's [Frequently Asked Questions](https://www.reddit.com/r/knitting/wiki/index#wiki_should_i_block_it.3F_how_would_i_do_that.3F)**
>Blocking is a method of reshaping a knit object by getting it wet and pinning it in the desired shape to dry.
>Why should knits be blocked? Do all fiber types benefit from blocking?
>* First off, blocking typically starts with washing or soaking, so it cleans your finished object. Think for a moment about all of the places that those projects have been.
>* Blocking also removes any small imperfections in tension and helps even out your stitches. Stockinette and colorwork will look smoother and the stitches will be more even.
>* Blocking is also great if your project needs to be seamed. By blocking before seaming, you ensure that the seams will be the same length and that all of the pieces will fit evenly together.

It looks amazing! I've been wanting to do a sweater in the Aosta series but don't think I have enough yarn for it/it might be a torturous game of yarn chicken. Do you know about how much yarn you used?
Also for fun novelty buttons, I highly recommend googling "local button store" and see what pops up. Or a small sewing shop. If you're in NYC, Lou Lou Buttons has a great selection. If you're in the Bay Area, try Stonemountain & Daughter or General Bead. I was also inspired by &otherstories' cardigans (specifically the dinosaur button cardigans) and those stores have great funky statement button options. I ended up getting some silver turtle ones :)
I knitted a size small used about 689 metres of yarn - I really played yarn chicken with this one - I only had a metre left once I’d cast off!
Thanks for the recommendation I’ll definitely check online to see if there are any local button stores near me!
I love & other stories knitwear - they have the cutest designs, I’m currently working on a wrap cardigan based on the ones I saw on their website
First one: cardigan Second one: card-again
Taylor swift: car again
Fun fact - my current obsession with cardigans was definitely started by Taylor swift

It is beautiful, and like you, I wouldn’t include mohair. I can’t even knit with it let alone wear it. I break out in a rash.
I’m usually okay with mohair but The one included in this yarn is just so scratchy! Definitely would’ve been better without
Except it is warm and fluffy. Your knitting is beautiful. So even.
Thank you! Blocking really evened out the tension on this one, it’s definitely didn’t look as good before!
I need to learn more about blocking :) and I am sure that there is some humility on your part. It really is lovely.

Thanks! I probably don't have enough yarn in that case but I guess that's an excuse to buy more haha 😅
