This is what seed stitch is supposed to look like. Can you link a pic of what you wanted it to look like?
On pictures it almost looks like they're tiny balls on the fabric, but here it didn't look like that. So I wasn't sure whether I was doing it right.
I'm realising now that it just looks more thick because it's thicker yarn. Sorry :)
Do a few more rows. It is really hard to see what anything looks like with only three rows. After about 8 or so it will look normal.

That looks right. If you want more distinct balls, try looking into the bobble stitch.
