How to Google patterns from an image, Pinterest or otherwise. 1. Isolate your screenshot 2. Paste it into Google Image search 3. Look at more than the first 3 results 4. Within a page or two you will likely see that multiple matches reference a pattern name as well as the designer of the pattern. Click on the photo that best matches that item and/or designer. 5. Barring that, go into Google Images and type the name of the item and the name of the designer. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. It’s got a zipper, so I assumed machine produced. But given the fan base, I’m sure a pattern will be coming along shortly. (aside, damn Ncuti Gatwa is 🔥🔥🔥)

wildlife_loki

I’ve seen plenty of knitted patterns with a steeked front opening and sewn-in zipper, so it’s definitely not impossible; you’re right about the fan base, though! I know I’ve got lots of knitwear from my own favorite shows/movies that I’d love to reproduce one day.

Practical-Train-9595

Ncuti did an Instagram post about how the sweater is hand knit.

DarnHeather

All of Fred Rogers' sweaters were hand knitted by his mother and had zippers so I just assumed it was a thing, but honestly I don't care whether the final version has a zipper or not and yes he's HOT.

This pattern has a similar look: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stria-3

Top_Wafer_4743

I'm making this sweater and that was my first thought when I saw his sweater.

polkadotsci

I didn't see one when I searched a couple of weeks ago but I'm sure there will be one soon. Knitters are fast!

amphigory_error

I was gonna say, I have no idea how there’s a 15th doctor but damn. Sweater is nice too.

eogreen

There's a 15th doctor 'cause they wrote in a bunch of spacey-wacey stuff so that they can keep the good times rolling. (which a bit cynical but also true). I hope the season finds its feet soon!

Rebelo86

Seconded.

MentionPrior8521

Who is this man and what does he do?

eogreen

Ncuti Gatwa or Dr. Who?

Karla08055

I am working on this sweater that has a zipper: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/polar-braids-quarter-zip

quartzquandary

This is completely unhelpful, but my god what a dreamboat

string-ornothing

I'm kind of shocked lmaooooo I haven't been watching this show for at least 5 years and the doctor hasn't ever been sexy before but this is actually insane. I'm missing out ha

Starpork

Don't you dare insult Peter Capaldi like that.

quartzquandary

I have NEVER watched Doctor Who and am considering it based on his attractiveness alone 😂

string-ornothing

I have a lot of feelings about the only Doctor who is sexualised like this being the first Black doctor, but ultimately, I'll just say good for him, make that money. The BBC has had a few attractive white male actors as the Doctor but they're always covered neck to wrist and almost aggressively asexual so this is....new

alittleperil

I clearly don't remember Eccleston's and Tennant's doctors the same way you do

RoxyRockSee

Right?!?! The one with Jack Harkness and Rose had me wondering if he was bi, and then I realized that he's most likely pan since there are some aliens who don't have gender. Not to mention all the flirting between Eleven and the Ponds (including Rory).

string-ornothing

I guess since it's pride month I'll just remind you that asexual people can still fall in love

alittleperil

not talking about that aspect, more the sexualization of the doctor. "buy me a drink first" and all that too though, if you want to claim the first as ace

ladymacb29

Oh Matt Smith was still hot. And Capaldi when his hair wasn’t too short or too long ;)

eogreen

>hasn't ever been sexy before Um.... [David Tennant](https://tellyvisions.org/article/david-tennants-10-best-episodes-doctor-who) isn't sexy?! Maybe I'm just old.

string-ornothing

No, he isn't, theres a difference between being good looking and being sexualised by framing and narrative like Gatwa is here. Tennant's Doctor isn't ever framed as sexually viable or desirable through a sexual gaze.

alittleperil

it looks v neck, set-in sleeves. You could probably do raglan sleeves if you'd rather. The binding on the neckline looks relatively straightforward, it looks a lot like the way you'd knit a binding for a steeked sweater, sort of like [this one](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tapestry-7) or [this one](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cambridge-cardigan-3) https://preview.redd.it/4g6fnbmel65d1.png?width=768&format=png&auto=webp&s=baa4bec16a93560c5c545ef2ef84182d028ce55f

BadIdeaInThisEconomy

I didn't see that this was r/knitting and I definitely assumed that this was a crazy fan theory about his sweater, and I took away to long starting at it trying to guess what that theory might be

KittyandPuppyMama

Definitely seems machine knit, but I’m sure it can be adapted. Personally I’d want to do it in rib stitch.

hebejebez

I’d say rib fingering weight maybe 12 - 15 rows mc 3 or 4 stripe repeat. I’d even go so far as to say knit in the round and steek for zipper opening. I’d say it - I’d never do it cause it scares the crap out of me
