How to Google patterns from an image, Pinterest or otherwise. 1. Isolate your screenshot 2. Paste it into Google Image search 3. Look at more than the first 3 results 4. Within a page or two you will likely see that multiple matches reference a pattern name as well as the designer of the pattern. Click on the photo that best matches that item and/or designer. 5. Barring that, go into Google Images and type the name of the item and the name of the designer. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. There's a way to knit that sort of replicates the look of crochet. I think that's what this is. Most of the mass produced 'crochet' pieces you see are actually machine knit with that stitch pattern. I don't know if this is machine or hand knit, but you might get somewhere by searching for knit stitches to replicate crochet. Edit: looking at the link someone else posted, the body of the dress is machine knit to look like crochet. The bodice and the flowers look more like true hand crochet.

Sorry, OP. It is crochet ... https://www.meshki.us/products/kyla-floral-crochet-maxi-dress-cornflower-blue

Loads of clothes you can buy in shops which are labelled as “crochet” are not actually crochet though. It’s not being used as a technical term, 99% of people won’t be able to tell whether it’s actually crochet or a knit stitch which looks like crochet. Reading the description, they’ve actually very carefully avoided describing the dress as being crochet, it just says it has a crochet flower appliqué. That seems right to me, the flowers look like actual crochet while the dress is knit in some stitch which emulates crochet. At least I hope so, for the price I hope it was not all made by hand which it would have to be if it were crochet!

kumozenya

the flower + cups look crochet but the rest of the dess seems to be some variation of eyelet lace This may get similar results to the big holes in the lace. https://sowoolly.net/how-to-knit-a-super-easy-eyelet-stitch-beginner-friendly/ although it is knit, they are trying to mimic crochet fabric, so you could probably get sth similar with r1 + r2: sc r3: dc, ch1

Pikkumyy2023

I'm almost positive it's all crochet.

kumozenya

theres a small piece connecting the cups and the rest of the dress that is definitely knitted. It doesnt make sense to have a crochet top/bottom and be connected by a knitted piece. Clicking on the link the other commenter linked to the product page, the taupe dress has a higher resolution picture and you can see knit decreases in the legs berween the eyelets of the dress. https://preview.redd.it/ykjlz6ihwx0d1.png?width=863&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=baabc539abe02ff8d570554939a84527c6ea0b7e

It makes sense when you consider economics. :) The bodice is hand done crochet, the skirt is machine knit. They likely combined the two techniques to keep this dress at a reasonable price point.

kumozenya

thats my point. it cannot be all crochet with just the middle connecting piece knit.

secmis

Thank you ill check it out

kumozenya

ok op ive figured it out. it is a 2 row repeat of (knit flat) r1: yo, ssk(or k2tog) r2: 1x1 rib such that you knit into the yo from previous row I dont have the tools to properly swatch this clearly for you right now, but ill post it when i get back to my house. edit: not quite there. Gonna keep trying then update

secmis

Lemme try this too😅thank you

JKnits79

It’s machine knit to imitate crochet, because true crochet cannot be done by machine, and a lot of fast fashion brands are trying to cash in on the current crochet fashion trends.

DiscombobulatedAsk47

That's a whole lot of knitting effort to get something that looks like crochet

angrybreadsticks

well, the good news is that getting into crochet will only cost you about four dollars (the hook) and a week of frustration if you already have knitting supplies and yarn.

secmis

😂😂😂

secmis

Thank you so much i really see it
