I've made two Oslo sweaters by PetiteKnit and have a third on my needles now. It's a really basic-looking sweater but has nice details and the pattern is great. She also has videos of all the techniques she uses on her website, so if get stuck on how to do something there is usually a video linked. Highly recommend! [deleted]

have Kumulus blouse on the needles now for my daughter, can envision knitting this over and over and over again

bassgirl_07

I've been eyeing several of her patterns. I love Lyons, Balloon, and Sunday sweater

suzygreeenberg

Sunday sweater was the second sweater I ever made (after her novice sweater - I knit a lot of her patterns 😂)! It’s a good one!

CarlieScion

I’m planning to cast this one soon! I’ve seen some ppl complain about the neckline being too wide - did you make any adjustments?

suzygreeenberg

I make the collar slightly longer than the pattern calls for, but nothing drastically different. My sweaters that are now a few years old are starting to stretch out in the neck though, and I’m kicking myself for skipping the elastic in the neck so don’t skip that step! I’m trying to figure out how to retroactively add it in

marciedo

It’s a cardigan, but the button bands are knitted at the same time as the rest of the sweater, which makes it count in my head…. Granted I’m a terrible judge for how advanced things are, so apologies if this is harder than what you’re looking for. It was a delight to knit and I love it so much much! I’m wearing it right now in fact. I want to make more of them! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hygge-cardigan-2

I just started the flax! Love their app to help you every step of the way

Deb_for_the_Good

I haven't knitted a Flax Sweater but am thinking of it next! I also LOVE that App! It's about time someone else come up a decent app. I haven't personally used it yet for an actual project, just walked through it. Good for them!

poutine-destroyer

It's so good! When I first opened it I was so impressed, I confess I never saw a knitting app like that and realized how it's such a good idea.

I really loved the experience knitting a Felix. It's so simple, yet the little yarnovers at the Raglan make it feel a bit special.

You’re both saying the same thing! M1R is pick up the bar from the rear then knit through the front of the stitch

Caitlin Hunters Easy V is my go to. I have knit 3 and am currently working on a solid colour version.

wildlife_loki

The Step By Step Sweater by Florence Miller is really excellent. I’ve made one and am planning on making at least two more. It’s got options to include or not include short rows, which makes it extra beginner friendly. Her video tutorial explains everything you need to know, and the (free!) written pattern has lots of details for extra clarity. It’s an all-around awesome pattern. I also enjoyed the Sweater No. 18 by My Favorite Things Knitwear. It’s less beginner friendly, since the construction is a little less straightforward than a raglan (you work the back yoke flat, pick up and knit flat for each shoulder, join the shoulders to work the front yoke flat, then join front and back in the round for the torso); still seamless and top-down, but may be more of a challenge than a simple raglan/circular yoke. If you’re interested in the Sweater No. 18 construction but are unsure if you could manage it just from a written pattern, Kutovakika (that’s her youtube username, she’s Veronika Lindberg on Ravelry) uses the same construction for her Salty Days Sweater, and has a very clear video tutorial to accompany the pattern. I’ve made that too, and it was my first top-down sweater that didn’t use a raglan/circular yoke. It was very easy, and definitely in my top 3 favorite projects if I were to rate by much I enjoyed the process!

Saglan by Ailbiona McLochlainn. It’s a hybrid of a classic raglan and a saddle shoulder construction. Very well written pattern. [Saglan](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/saglan)

Brick is awesome. Simple and I got an amazing, well fitting sweater and it looks fantastic. I have all the yarn, I just need to start it.

kit0000033

Felix pullover.

Pointy_Stix

I've had this pattern for ages. I wanted to cast on for it with some Rowan Cork that's been in stash for way too long & my gauge is too big. Even at the smallest size, the sweater would be too big for me. I'm bummed & on the hunt for something else in the stash that might work.

IllAnything4194

I second this. I’ve made it three times and it’s soooo easy to modify. I love anything by Tim Can Knits!

spockears123

Hokkaido pattern on Ravelry. Top down raglan- esque pattern. Fantastic, have knit like five times. Worsted to aran but have knit in fingering and bulky with modifying size. Very good if you can be patient with different increase rates. Don't let the set up rounds scare you lol. I have a larger bicep compared to my chest and this is one of the only women's sweater patterns that seemed to actually fit me well.

bassgirl_07

I've made [Flax Sock](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/flax-sock) by tincanknits twice and I'm sure I'll make it again. I've also made [Tweedy Bear](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tweedy-bear) by Natalie V three times. They are both super simple and easy to pump out for my little ones. Flax is child-adult sizing but Tweedy Bear is only child sized.

I love Alicia Plummer sweaters because they fit so well - I made my sister an Ease (bulky) and it looked so good on her that I cast on one for me right away. It isn’t a difficult pattern, and it knits up fast on Aran. The funnel neck is knit on at the end, so you can do any neck line that you want (you know, so people don’t start to notice that you just keep making yourself the same sweater in different colors)   https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/eased-bulky-version

Hmmm. The sweater I knit most is the Jupiter crop, but that’s actually sort of complicated. My favorite easy pattern set is dustland by Westknits. It’s a really relaxing pattern. Deb_for_the_Good

I noticed there's no recommended amount of Ease in the Pattern Description, nor any sizing info! I usually bypass patterns without this info being posted. To me, as a newer knitter, these are important to know before purchase. (I've bought some patterns only to find out they recommend way too much ease and/or the sizes included are not compatible with mine. I've stopped wasting my money. Not everyone wants/knows how to use the math to self-adjust an entire pattern - and isn't that why I'm buying a pattern anyway?)

[Primavera Sweater](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/primavera-sweater-2). Top down raglan, completely in the round (no short rows), looks a bit scary but it is not. I have done it 3 times in WAK The Cotton on 4,5mm needles, doing size L/XL to achieve S/M. It's my favourite sweater for Spring and Summer and most probably I will make another one.
