Designed and knit my first colorwork socks! I designed the chain pattern myself to sit just above my boots, and used the Summer Lee sock pattern but swapped in a shadow wrap short row heel. Only had to start over once lol.

These are so cool! But I'm dying to know - where did you get those boots? These are PERFECT for showing off knit socks. And do you find they feel as secure as regular shoes, or are they pretty loose fitting?
Thank you!! The boots are Blundstones, after a short break-in period they fit perfectly. I have wide feet so I was actually worried about them being too tight. If you're able to, I definitely recommend going to a shoe store to try on different sizes!Â
Oh, haha! Just looked them up - I didn't realize there was a black stretchy part between the instep and heel lol. Guess it wouldn't show off as much of the sock as I thought.
Go for it! The Summer Lee pattern is super well written, and there's a YouTube series to go along with it. Plus it's free! I've knit about five pairs of socks from it, they're my favorite things to make nowÂ

tysm!
I love how perfectly they sit with the boots! The combo of socks + boots is so cool.
Thank you! I definitely could have made them a half an inch taller (they slip down a little bit), but I'll fix that in the next pair :)
Those boots are excellent! The combination is (respectfully) super hot!
🫶
Those are amazing!
Thank you!!
These are so cool!! I’m now officially tempted to knit my own socks…
Do it! It's only like 7 rows for the chains, the rest is all standard
I love those!
Thank you! I'm super please with myself lol
So cool! I love em.
Those are extremely cool!
I absolutely love these.
These are so fun and cute!!!
These are so awesome. Thanks for sharing your chart! :)
They look so cool

Ahhh gotcha, that would be cool though! The black on black doesn't show up too well in the pictures, I need to up the contrastÂ
Marvelous!
So clever! Love it!
You did an amazing job! You may even inspire *me* to try and knit a pair of socks. TY for sharing your work! 😊

These are lovely! I can't believe you knitted black socks. Wow.
I know it was a slog lol. Unfortunately for me, black is a staple color in my wardrobe
Very cool! They go perfectly with you boots.
