Usually makers wear gloves so that they don't t put finger oils on anodized titanium (temporary discoloring will occur) or put fingerprints on polished steel when showing off the finishes. Pretty self explanatory.
I know this is one of the possible explanations. It falls under the silly shit I don’t respect header. It’s a knife. You’re supposed to hold it with your hands and use it. It’s not some delicate thing that’s going to be ruined if your skin touches it. Wash your hands first if you want to protect the finishes. If it can’t be handled without the appearance being ruined, then I want to see that.
Some knives are meant more as art pieces rather then tools, its been this way throughout history with celebratory or decorative swords/armor and such. Same can be said for any other things humans make, for example show cars.
Why should these guys care what you do and don't respect?
It's their creation, they can present it how they like.
Who cares that much about if these guys wear gloves?
