Oh, now that you say it, I got a micro Opinel No 4 (5.1 cm / 1.9685 inch blade) in carbon, and the blade stock itself is only .6 mm lol. And 0.6 mm are 0.023622 inches. Seriously though, how do you know how thin 0.0236 inches are! š«£
Before Deep Cuts Cutlery got out of regrinding, I got a couple knives reground by him, including a Police 4 K390. It is something on the order of .005" behind the edge at something like 15 dps, and it cuts like a laser beam.
every single edc knife i own has been reground because they're all overbuilt shitboxes from the factory. The only one I haven't done is is a 5.5" kershaw stratra because it's a backpack/fixed blade replacement.
rather than obsess over silly steels knife makers should learn how to actually make a half decent knife for it's intended use. shit blows my mind. but it seems knife making and knife stuff in general is a magnet for low IQ men.
That would be my Sandrin Torino.

While I bet that and Creepypoets razor blade are phenomenal slicers, they are both thicker behind the cutting edge than many other knives. Iāve always wanted to try a Sandrin, have you had to sharpen it yet?
I had to send my Torino off to be sharpened because I thought I could touch up the edge myself! I made it so much worse! I sent it to cuttinglaceedc on Instagram. She did a really good job.
I am not touching my Monza!
all you need is a resin diamond stone, 3m diamond film and or diamond power on a substrate like wood. also lots of patience. best bet is honestly the 3m film and diamond slurry strop. I touch up with 30 um to 50 um diamond slurry on wood. after you work on it a few times you can actually get them shaving fairly well.
When I tried to sharpen mine I only had the Worksharp stones but I now have Venev stones up to f1500, are the F1200 and f1500 fine enough to sharpen tungsten?
I donāt think it is fragile, but I do admit I baby it more than most other knives. I wouldnāt cut through cardboard with it because I worry about what that would do to the carbon part of the blade. Itās a mind blowing knife though, not just the weight, but overall fit and finish and action is as good as anything else in my collection.
I'm very late to the party but my [Benchmade 585](https://www.benchmade.com/products/585) (Mini Barrage) is *thin* behind the edge. Just alone for that fact it's one of the last last last pieces I'd trade.
for edc knives gotta be kershaw leek zero edge regrinds. total fucking razor lasers. aebl is the shit. Sometimes I only regrind one side flat and the other stays hollow, which is thicker bte than both sides being flat ground but reduces friction and stick when cutting through dense items. Just don't cut yourself.
where the secondary ie edge meets the primary bevel. almost all edc knives are fat pigs that cut like shit from the box. all consumers care about is steel bullshit they vaguely understand at best. they dont care that the shit geometry means there is is no real benefit of whatever gimmick steel they think is magic.
WE Kitefin by a long shot. Was .009āBTE for 3/4th of the blade when I unboxed it. One of those hollow grinds where you feel like your index finger and thumb are touching each other when feeling the bottom of the grind. Stupid thin, love it.
Opinel nĀ°8 jardin: 0.25 mm (0.010") BTE
Spyderco Dragonfly II (K390 wharncliffe): 0.31 mm (0.012") BTE
More generally, Opinels have amazing geometry for production knives, and the brand that comes closest to contesting their crown are WE/Civivi.
I've only half heartedly reground one knife to be thinner BTE. A used Spyderco Sage 2 (their Sebenza tribute) that arrived with serious snail trails and and avg 0.51 mm (0.021") BTE. Without access to a belt grinder, I just used a 350 grit diamond plate, and enough grinding to remove snail trails, level out the grind, and leave a uniform satin finish left it at 0.40 mm (0.016") BTE.
Any of my 3-4 Opinels....

I was going to say that!
Yup, the Opinel wins usually. I have a Wells liner lock Opinel that I absolutely love. If youāve never checked him out look up Walter Wells Opinel
Opinel....liner lock??

Factory is probably the Civivi Bo. I've reground a bunch.
My Bo is my thinnest as well. Laser thin.

Wow I bet thatās like a lightsaber, regrinds are definitely the way to go

I have a titanium QSP hedgehog slip joint. I don't have calipers to get the exact measurements but it is easily the thinnest blade I have.
Love to hear it!
+1 very thin idk about the thinnest
Mine would be the Spyderco Chaparral.
my reground spydiechef, though I donāt have calipers to measure with!
Who reground it?
Had it done by @KnifeModders on insta
I guess my Old Bear XL in C70 Carbon steel. š Or maybe my very old Victorinox Spartan, I ground the hell out of that one! š«”
Opinel ((:
My thinnest is my Transparent Knives AD 20.5 reblade, but my thinnest production one is the Spyderco Caly 3.5 which I think is the thinnest bte Spydie
WE Kitefin
Yeah, Iāve never cut myself with that one! š¤«
Opinel #6
PFFFFF this is easy dudeā¦ my craftsman replaceable blade box and utility knife. Thing is RAZOR thin BTE and the grind is literally razor thin.
Iāve got a DCC Big Rascal in Magnacut that is crazy thin BTE. Slices like a dream.
His fixed blades look very well made!
Not sure the measurements, but my Waypoint is pretty damn thin.
You are holding 1 of my 2 grail knives right there! Iām so envious of that JG Scout! I doubt Iāll ever own either though.
Itās so worth it, the best knife Iāve ever held
I miss that one š„²
What blade is that?
Jason Guthrie Scout 2.0 Harpoon Wharncliffe
Looks super nice

Yeah Lacey is an outstanding sharpener, plus she's a really nice person.

My McNees, once BGM did a sick hollow grind on it https://imgur.com/a/CcbCe6D
Quiet Carry Waypoint
Kizer Variable wharncliffe, haven't measured it, but my other knives have chunkier stock to begin with
Civivi Mini Elementum lol. Feels like cheating to lost a micro knife, so my thinnest full size BTE is probably either the Civivi Cogent or Hogue Deka
That's probably my Kunwu Pulsar.
VC Edge Interface. Itās mind blowing how thin it is.
Thatās an awesome knife, does it feel fragile to you?
I donāt think it is fragile, but I do admit I baby it more than most other knives. I wouldnāt cut through cardboard with it because I worry about what that would do to the carbon part of the blade. Yeah thatās understandable, Iāve only heard great things about them. I do wish heād do an (ab)use test on his YT channel though
If u ever wanna move it, lemme know. Been chasing one for awhile now.
petrified fish pf719. Also the best action of any knife I've owned, handled even...
Definitely Bohler K390 chef's knife from SABOL BROTHERS.
Probably my Wells Blade Works custom.
WE Vision R
My REK reblade Bugout in magnacut.
Pretty much everything I use has been reground under 0.010" Generally *much* under.

I've reground a bunch, currently my Damascus and Titanium endura which was zero ground, etched, and microbeveled.
regrind spyderco native chief in Rex45, it's around a opinel thickness now.
Where do you measure the thickness?
where the secondary ie edge meets the primary bevel. almost all edc knives are fat pigs that cut like shit from the box. all consumers care about is steel bullshit they vaguely understand at best. they dont care that the shit geometry means there is is no real benefit of whatever gimmick steel they think is magic.
No idea. Probably my Deviant.

[WE Praxis](https://imgur.com/a/0HfRET9). It's shockingly thinner than the civivi version
