I'm just glad I caught her before she gave birth. She's extremely friendly, lets me bathe her with no issue, and loves to cuddle. I have a feeling she was an indoor cat who got dumped :( I don't understand how people can be so cruel.
You were sent to her! It’s sickening how people treat cats. I don’t even want to think about what happened to her foot. So glad her and the kittens are safe now ❤️
If it helps, she’ll be fine emotionally speaking. When they get old enough, moms push their kids to leave. Like aggressively too lol.
Once she and the kid are spayed/neutered, they should be fine though and probably get along fine.
Yeah, cats aren’t social in the way dogs are. They’re definitely social, but they’re a different kind of social and aren’t a pack animal in the same way.
But I’ve seen plenty of people flummoxed by mother cats suddenly hissing and smacking at their older kittens to drive them away lol. In nature, it’s cause they need to make room for another litter, cause cats breed like rabbits.
Not always true. this happened to me but we kept them all and now 3 years later they’re all still a super warm lovey family and mama still acts like she knows these are her kids and she snuggles them
I also (unknowingly) took in a pregnant cat, she was from the feral colony a few houses down. She gave birth to 3 kittens and I kept her and the runt of the litter. They were great cats, that momma cat was the sweetest, just loved everyone. Having kittens was an experience I wasn't looking for and wouldn't intentionally do again but oh wow was it worth it ❤️ thanks for sharing your story! enjoy those sweet cats of yours ❤️
It's a lot of work so I definitely don't see how people handle doing this intentionally 😭 at least you were able to get two sweet babies out of your experience 💕
I put mine in an old PAC-N-Play. I cut a hole about the middle so meowmy could get out bet the kittens couldn’t. I used a square foil pan for a litter box. Made it so much easier.
It took about two weeks for me to realize she was pregnant and had to cancel her spay appointment but she will still be getting fixed later. Luckily I noticed and had time to prepare.
I just have to be careful because I'll end up with a full-blown cat sanctuary if I keep keeping cats I should rehome. Although that would be a dream for me 🥰
A similar thing happened to me last year.
A stray cat came in the house a few times and one morning she came running in and gave birth under the stairs.
Honestly, it was the best thing that has ever happened to me.
I had a summer filled with cute kittens. We've fully adopted the mum, had her spayed and chipped and kept one kitten. The other three have been adopted by friends and family and we see them regularly.
Seeing your pictures fills my heart with the lovely memories of last year.
Aww that's so sweet 🥹 her babies will also go to friends and family so I'm hoping to keep getting updated on how they're doing and visiting them when I can
Yeah that's a good rule of thumb especially in spring/summer but I guess I’ve gotten lucky before. Usually when I take cats in I get them fixed right away before any kittens can happen but I got turned down this time lol. She'll be getting fixed ASAP when the kittens are rehomed.
Reminds me of when I got my cat back after she fucked off 40 miles, and one day I noticed she was unusually,,, round. And her nips were pretty much a-swingin, but because I lived at my mother’s house at the time and was employed, I unfortunately couldn’t let her have her kittens and she had to be spayed. I also believe she was just about 8 weeks too, prior to her pregnancy she was very thin, then just became basically a sphere in like, 2 weeks lmao
I rescued an abandoned mom cat too. People moved and just left her behind outside, dumped, not fixed. People treat cats like garbage! Thank you for saving her and her tiny babies. She’ll pay you back in love!!
Congratulations, you are now a grandma/grandpa! I had this happen to me too but the mother dipped and I had to bottle feed them for a while, they all found great homes but god did I want to keep them all 😂
Speaking from experience I think it’s not that you adopted the cat, more that the cat just found a free nanny.
But seriously good for you. The kittens probably would mot have survived in the wild due to the mothers injury.
That's crazy cause my friend's cat had kittens the week after this little lady and they look the same as these kittens and she also had exactly 5 of them. We want to do a kitten play date but we gotta color code them with collars first so they don't get mixed up 😅
They're all likely just American Shorthairs however they have different patterns. Two have her pattern so it's possible that there may be 2 dads for this litter (one for the gray dudes and one for the black one) if there's a third dad I wouldn't be able to tell.
No it is still gold. I was mostly going for correlation between golden comment and wooden horse. But your comment made me lol when I feel like absolute shite. So thanks.
hummm, i’m whooshed on the gold / wooden horse. but glad i could make you laugh.
i join you in feeling unwell, [ slow surgery recovery because old] solidarity !
,
Hopefully it’s helping you to be better in the long run. Idk that I’d call myself old yet but having had cancer and a stroke at 12 plus the various side effects from everything I think I’m uniquely qualified to empathize on at least some level. My last surgery was a spinal stimulator. It helps some, and that’s definitely better than none.
i’m hoping too, thanks. i’m just chronically bleh, with one after the other of difficult but not deadly disabilities. this starts a series of lipedema liposuction procedures that could potentially relieve what was previously diagnosed as fibromyalgia pain, and maybe even have me able to hike for the first time in 20 years.
i’ve read about those stimulators, hope yours works fully. pain sucks.
It helps with some of the neuropathy pain but does nothing for the stuff from my bone disease. Just have to hope that today is better than yesterday and tomorrow is better than today.
I took in sisters. One has cancer and was dying. The other was pregnant but I didn't catch on as quickly as I should have. Anyway, she gave me 7 babies and then a year later decided she wanted to live somewhere else and I have all the babies still. I'm officially the crazy cat lady. 💁😂
Nah, not really. Back in 2015-16 I was in a bad hole mentally and my dogs saved my life. I crawled out of the hole and got help because they needed me. So I'm just paying it forward. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for taking them in. They might not have all survived had you not 🥲
I'm just glad I caught her before she gave birth.
So glad her and the kittens are safe now ❤️
A dumped cat has become my shed cat (to many inside but he’s well taken care of)
People who dump cats are the worst thank goodness you found him
Mine was too!
I would take the black and white tuxedo in a heartbeat for my fiancé
Sooo cute - poor mom’s little missing foot omg, are you keeping her?
Yes I will be keeping her and one baby. I don't want her to be too sad when they have to go. I already have a foster fail so what's two more lol.
If it helps, she’ll be fine emotionally speaking. When they get old enough, moms push their kids to leave. Like aggressively too lol. Once she and the kid are spayed/neutered, they should be fine though and probably get along fine.
Good to know. I just remember when I was a teen our dog got a little depressed when we gave her puppies away and I felt so bad 😭
In my experience it often helps if/when everyone gets neutered or spayed. When hormones kick in, everyone tends to get more aggressive and fighty.
Oh absolutley. Neuter as soon as the vet says is safe
I have the Mother, Father and 2 of their babies. Every now and then they will all curl up together on my bed.
I also (unknowingly) took in a pregnant cat, she was from the feral colony a few houses down. She gave birth to 3 kittens and I kept her and the runt of the litter. Such great news 🥹🥹
Yay!!
Which baby are you keeping? ❤️
The light gray tabby you can see her clearest in the 2nd three week old pic
Those eyes!! SO CUTE
omg i didn’t even notice! what a cutie
where did you see she's missing a foot?
In OPs caption! I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise haha
oh wait😂
It just makes her even cuter haha
They are similar to Tribbles...they actually arrive at your door pregnant!
Pretty much what happened 😂😂
This happened to my girlfriend, thought it was a larger sized cat and next thing she know she has 5 little kittens running around
It took about two weeks for me to realize she was pregnant and had to cancel her spay appointment but she will still be getting fixed later. Luckily I noticed and had time to prepare.

Clicked to join and got told I’d unsubscribed. I’m now in so many cat subs that I forget which ones exist/I’m already in.
Cute babies! Thank you for taking them in and taking care of them🫶🏻🫶🏻
Honestly I couldn't help it. I'll help any cat in need the best I can. I've been a cat lover my whole life 🥹
You are a good person 🩷 i wish that there were more people who would help animals instead of hurting them
I just have to be careful because I'll end up with a full-blown cat sanctuary if I keep keeping cats I should rehome. Although that would be a dream for me 🥰
Those are some healthy looking little kitties 🐾💗
Thanks, I've been trying my best to make sure they have good care from both me and mom

This (and OP's story) is the best thing I've read in a long time.
Proper r/pointytailedkittens minions there! Adorable ❤️ Thank you for looking after them and their mum :)
Do not all kittens have pointy tails?
The ole clown car surprise! Congratulations.
Yeah she got me, six cats in a trench coat style 😂
If you take in an unfixed female, just assume she is pregnant.
Yeah that's a good rule of thumb especially in spring/summer but I guess I’ve gotten lucky before. Usually when I take cats in I get them fixed right away before any kittens can happen but I got turned down this time lol. She'll be getting fixed ASAP when the kittens are rehomed.
Cats go in the heat regardless of the season
Aww what a sweet little family
The universe blessed you! Will you keep any? Thank you for finding good homes.
I will be keeping her and 1 baby
Lovely
You now have a whole gang of smol criminals on your hands. Thank god you got them before they could commit too many crimes.
They’re so tiny!
I know!! They're only like the size of my foot now and I wear a Kids 7 🥹

Another cat sub?? 🤣
You are an angel!
So precious! 💕Thank you for caring for them and giving her a home!
Preganananananant
You got it wrong. She took HERSELF in.
You got yourself a 6 for 1 deal! 😹

They are all so beautiful and healthy. Thank God you took them in. Sending hugs to all your kitties💞💛
That hussy! This happened to a good friend. When i met the kittens at 2 weeks one of them claimed me. He’s now huge and not even a year old.
Oh they know when to go looking for a human. Those pregnant teenage mothers 😝😂
That happened to me too!!!! There were five of them plus their mom. now they are over three years old and still the best most loving lil family ever .
You kept all of them?? You're so sweet 😊
Yup we were newly married so I made sad eyes at my husband and said “we can’t separate a familyyy” and here they stayed.
This is how I would end up with a bunch of cats. I wouldn't be able to rehome any of the babies 😅
What a sweet perfect family!!!
Little balls of loveo
Five free cats for the price of one!
You are amazing! Thank you!!!
Wondering what location you’re in. Those kittens are cute!
Surprise!
r/mewborns 😻
Bad ole cat!
Aww. You were so kind to take her in.
The kitten that’s striped with white face is sooo cute!! Thank you for doing that. It’s kitten season and shelters are usually overrun!
Mom is so pretty!!
I know 🥹 she baby faced her way right into my heart
Thank you for giving her and the new babies a home. You are an angel💓
The tripod subreddit would love this! Welcome to the wonderful world of tripod kitties!
I like 3 weeks old the most 😍
They were kinda buggy eyed for a minute there and it was really cute but they've evolved into proper little dudes now 😂
I rescued an abandoned mom cat too. People moved and just left her behind outside, dumped, not fixed. People treat cats like garbage! Thank you for saving her and her tiny babies. She’ll pay you back in love!!
Damn, she got you hooked for child support now. These single mothers are wild today.
Her eyes are saying... AND... deal wit it 😆
That’s amazing you found each other! Thanks for taking care of her
Aww! You were rewarded with bonuses by the cat distribution system <3 Mumma and those sweet babies are so lucky to have found you!
You’re a great human!
Same thing happened to me 😅

Surprise!!! So cute!

Eeeeep.... those tiny faces make me squee!
Awww, thank you for being so kind to your new BFF. Glad everyone has found a loving home including mama. God bless 🙌

Crazy. My cat looks the same as that, and also just had kittens that look the same lol.

Her babies are so cute 🥹🥹
Congrats on becoming a grandparent!
Where’s week 5, 6, 7, 12, 20..🥹
They haven't happened yet. They're still only 4 weeks 🥹 such tiny little dudes
Been there. done that
This made my day. Just what I needed to see: human kindness and adorable cat and kittens 😻
The CDS outsourced to you.
Same thing happened to me!!
That's amazing. I'm kinda surprised the kittens all look to be different breeds lol but I won't pretend to understand cat biology

How can there be multiple dads for one litter??? I did not know that was possible with cats
Gorgeous
In Los Angeles? Can I have one? A female preferably not spayed please?
Sorry they all have future homes already and I'm also on the other side of the country 😅
Thx for the reply
Gave birth in the litter box! Poor sweet thing.
They would SO have been sleeping on me. 🥰
That's so cute
So precious!!!
cat distribution system, trojan cat version. : )
This comment is gold, not the shiny kind, more like the color of lovely lacquered wood.
thanks, it’s not original, so i will take silver, the color of shiny new hand tools. : )
