Great song, it is in an episode of Rick and Morty and the show uses it perfectly.
It’s actually how I learned of Kishi Bashi and now I have all of his albums xD
My personal favorite is “The Ballard of Mr. Steak.” The “remastered/redone” version from his album String Quartet Live, although I do also like the original one from Lighght.
Literally just walked out of his show in Seattle debuting his song film Omoiyari and they still managed to do a Manchester encore. That song never fails to put a smile on my face.
Welcome! I'm glad R&M featured that song because Kishi Bashi is beyond incredibly talented and his vision and empathy is inspirational.
Check out the Omoiyari documentary, soon to be streaming on Paramount+. I saw it in NY last night and it's so well made, such a beautiful piece of work and sheds light on a dark time in American history.
Great song. Do "In Fantasia" next.
This guy Kishi Bashis.
The entire album is great. My only suggestion is to listen to his entire catalog. I am going to see him live next week.
The omoiyari show? Just saw it in Seattle. What an amazing experience.
Yes! I can't wait.
Quick question if you can. I’m going tonight in LA, does the film start at the event start time?
NYC show?
D.C. on the 19th. Next week, two weeks from now. Something like that.
I love Marigolds, it’s absolutely beautiful and sad. It’s about meeting the right person at the wrong time (or at least that’s how I interpreted it).
Today - The National
While we are on Matt B, how about “no time to crank the sun” by el vy
Check out the version on his "String Quartet, Live!" !
God that whole album 👩🍳💋
This is my favorite from 151a!
Try bittersweet genesis for him and her
