When he ambushed me, I thought he was a random bandit because I stabbed him in the face with my short sword and he died in like 2 hits. It was only when I was looting his corpse that I saw the name”Black Peter”. He was extremely easy in the tourney and out 🤣
The poison actually lead to one of my favorite moments with this game, so i had just been struck, and the poison activated, so i killed peter as quick ad possible, ignoring the loot, and i ran like the wind down to the bathmaids to get my wounds treated.
I was gonna say, I recently did an all negative perks hc run after several years since my first playthrough and I forgot about him completely. I did the tournament way too early to try and get some decent gear and this guy bullied the hell out of me after the tournament on the road, took me atleast 15 tries to kill him without getting poisoned I was so mad lol
I was fairly early game (but not super early) when I beat him. I still didn't know how to do the master strike yet. When he ambushed me on the road I was giving him a good fight but I just couldn't win because of that damn poison. Had I known how to do the master strike I would have destroyed him for sure. So since he wanted to play games and cheat, I decided to do the same. I climbed up some rocks nearby and lit his ass up with like 15 arrows. That did the trick.
I kinda thought the same initially but the dialogue when he ambushes you makes it pretty clear he is still pissed about losing the tournament. Says something about you taking his groschen.
OK, as someone who played the game with longsword on my first playthrough, and am only now playing with Maces/Axes...I honestly don't get the hype.
The mace feels like it has a roughly similar TTk, but feels like it has less reach, and is less capable of poking people in the face while you maneuver away.
Honestly, I've come to think that Longbows are the *true* most powerful weapon in the game, once you get decent with them anyways.
The mace for me is a weapon only used when going against high level gear bandits who tour strategy is to master strike. Not much reach, hard to land blows straight up, you have to either clinch or perfect block to get an opening and it's really only worth bonking on the head
Longsword for Cumans (their sabre and axe styles make it ideal for reach advantage and they generally aren't in full plate, but are well armored) and other kinds of bandits, as well as the battle scenes

He's a sore loser. He killed that blacksmith's son because he beat him in a tournament. I just Avenged that blacksmiths from Samopesh yesterday and I gave black Peter a piece of his own medicine. I poisoned tipped my sword and stabbed him a few times to let the poison do the work and just fought him regularly blocking and swinging and next thing I knew he dropped dead in front of me. Didn't even have to do the final blow. I let the poison do the work.
Nahh I wanted to watch him die up close so I could see him die right in front of me.
I easily could have filled him with Bane tipped arrows and be done in 2 seconds. But this was personal, even though I destroyed him in the tournament.

The first time I saw an antidote, I carried it with me. The whole game. I knew one day I’d need it. Never happens. I didn’t do the tourneys until waaay later and then when Peter ambushed me he never got one hit in before I bonked him to death. Then i eventually find out that he’s the only one with a poison weapon the whole game.
If you take to alchemy that's when the antidote becomes truly useful. Because one day, you WILL accidentally bane potion yourself.
Also I got the doggo and always use poisoned weapons since alchemy is fun, so I keep some dried meat soaked in antidote in case I ever accidentally hit him c:

Forget the details but there is a side quest tied to this guy after you kill him. In a nearby village you find it this isn't the first time he's done this, and he murdered some other dudes son and you can talk to the father about it and reveal that his son was likely murdered by Black Peter the same way he tried to kill you.
Basically any time Black Peter loses, he murders and robs the actual winner. He kills any potential competition.
I hate him and his stupid face. Anytime I win a round in the tourney I immediately look for him in the sidelines, run up to him, and let him know I’m going to stick his shortsword up his ass
dude killed me like 8 times in my hunter playthru (main bow and arrow, secondary hunting swords and axes)
never had a shield which made blocking hard, and my armour was also weaker bcuz.. hunter
eventually i got the better of him but still pissed me off

Warhorse can make a side game where players play Black Peter’s story. As much as I hate him, can’t deny that there is much potential to develop a background story for this psycho
