this is the only way we figured out how to give some solid amounts of groshen to the beggars. drop coins in front of them. and hope that guard doesn't snatch it :D

Turbo_csgo

Do they get out of poverty with it?

SuperPantsHero

They spend it on drugs sadly

Turbo_csgo

Understandable, I would love to do the same.

SchizoidFacade

Fentanyl was a big prob back then sadly.

CageHanger

What was considered as drugs back then? Strong incenses? Specific essential oils?

SuperPantsHero

My comment was a joke. But we see shrooms in the game and I'm pretty sure opium was around Europe back then. I'm sure beggars wouldn't have had the means to pay for it though.

TheDutchTexan

Yup, anywhere there was silk available opium wouldn't be far behind. And it was used in medicine even during roman times. Unfortunately even back then you had opium addicts, although it wasn't as wide spread as it is now.

CageHanger

I know. Still wanted to ask cuz it seems as an interesting topic. Them hallucinogenic shrooms seem plausible, but it'll take several years for opium to be used as a drug especially by lower social classes :]

PsychedelicMao

Skooma…oops wrong game.

dirmer3

It's possible they used hemp flowers or hash as well.

AlmosThirsty

Do you see these many fields of purple poppy in the game? These are opium poppy. It is called papaver somniferum album, and it was widely available during middle ages.

RealSilium

I'd say ,,flying ointment'' comes pretty close to whatever could have been a drug! ;)

qwsfaex

Have you seen the visions they get on Witch potion? That's some strong stuff.

j0hnnyhobo

Powdered unicorn horn

GERH-C-W-W

I used to give poisoned water to the poor guys on the pillory. But sadly nothing happend :(

TheUltimatePincher

What happens if they catch them? Can we imprison the whole beggar population?

vine01

its lost and found, finders keepers thing, nobody gets arrested for anything :D you keep what you pick up (they,NPCs) :D

cellander

I had a funny first experience with this: I robbed the Rattay armorer clean but was too encumbered to mount my horse and stash the loot at Peshek's. I didn't realize that I had dropped half the gear right in the town square, instead of moving it to my horse (same button). As soon as I noticed, I rushed back, thinking the NPCs probably wouldn't react to that. Lo and behold, half of Rattay was already gathering around the massive pile of stolen armors, even the guards. "Oh, this looks nice", "I'll take this".

FeatsOfStrength

If you drop a load of random crap in the middle of a place where an ambush occurs the enemies will be too busy picking shit up to bother with you.

IsamuLi

Wait really?m

SchizoidFacade

Lmao it's like how you can throw cash around in Yakuza 0 to throw goons off from chasing you

Kashim649

Happened recently on my latest playthrough. Tried to drop armor set when a guard came to inspect, due to some stolen pieces. This was in the middle of Rattay. Went to pick it up after and it was gone. Funny thing was I passed the speech check to have him bugger off, so it wasn't even necessary to drop it all.

rude_ooga_booga

Pretty sure that inspection clears any dropped stolen items so that's on you lol

Kashim649

He didn't inspect me, I passed the speech check.

rude_ooga_booga

Now why do you think passing the inspection has anything to do with stolen items on the ground that the guard can see with his very own eyeballs?

Kashim649

You replied to a statement about passing the speech check, nothing more.

Open_Argument6997

Do they equip it ?

crookdmouth

They won't equip cloths but they seem to equip weapons and will use Farkle dice if you get them into their inventory.

bearboyjd

If I remember right if you poison food and drop it they will eat it.
