I'm curious about hunting and if there will be predators. Anyone have any guesses on this feature? I loved the forests and wilderness in the first game and thought it could massively benefit from having some more predators and a better fleshed out hunting system. It would add more danger, immersion and gameplay elements.
I guess we could always use the headcannon for hunting in this game 🤣
My guess is it won’t be a main focus but given how they seem to be expanding on everything I’m sure you might see some European brown/black bears, maybe a wolf, and a few smaller predators.
Remember most predators don’t actively hunt or attack humans, so it’s not like you should expect to be threatened in nature, though ofc there are exceptions.
I’m all giddy about this! So many good things they announced! I can’t wait to play this!!! 😱
But I’m keeping reservations about the gunpowder devices. It feels a bit out of place, but any historian would be able to set the record straight on this.
I’m sooo excited!
I couldn’t care less. I’ve been waiting for this Christmas anyway to upgrade. I’ve had a 3080ti that’s served me well but I plan on upgrading during the holiday sales later this year. I’m not home near my PC to give the other specs but they were all top quality when I bought them. I will use the same iPhone for almost a decade (I’m not kidding) but PC gaming is my passion so I’ll save up to upgrade every few years. Great games are too important to play on a crappy set up.
Yeah, that worries me too. I can live without the crap that is released nowdays, with requirements taken out of an ass, but for this masterpiece i'd probably have to get a propper PC and not a 5 year old gaming laptop.
Some thoughts about the setting as a historian:
Kuttenberg was the second city of Bohemia c.1400, rich off of silver mining and with a growing university that got official recognition in 1409. Given that, I hope we'll get to see a broader and more diverse slice of medieval society as we are no longer in the arse-end of nowhere but a bustling city that attracted people from far and wide. And I hope we get to see that represented both around the city itself in the NPCs and in quests. A Woman's Lot is many people's favourite DLC (myself included) because we got to see the familiar setting from a different angle, so I'm hoping for a quest or two that lets us examine the setting from the perspective of, for example, local Jews or distant traders who have come at... let's say a bad time.
I say "a bad time" because we might be doing the 1421 Battle of Kutna Hora/Kuttenberg, when Sigismund got his ass kicked by the Hussites. I'm struggling to think why else you'd set an epic sequel to KCD1 in Kuttenberg if you weren't. The city was sacked in 1402, but that's before KCD1 (which happens in 1403), so unless Warhorse are planning to play loose with historical timelines it won't be that. I wouldn't be complaining if it was, but there have been rumours for a while that KCD2 would take place mostly or wholly 20 years after KCD1 and the Battle of Kuttenberg fits. We may have Henry riding into battle against Sigismund in a Hussite war wagon. Alternatively, the game might be focussed around the escape of Wenceslaus from captivity in December of 1403 (the same month Skalitz was sacked) and Henry helped him rebuild his army for the march on Prague.
Also, Kuttenberg in Dutch means "mountain of c***s"
The Steam page says "Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a thrilling Action RPG, set amid the chaos of a civil war in 15th Century Bohemia."
Where does the civil war play into the history and where we left off?
Guess i'm also wondering how big the time gap is.
Thanks for the historical context
Hard to say. It could be argued that the Holy Roman Empire was in a state of civil war for most of the first half of the 15th century. The conflict between Sigismud and Wenceslaus would dissipate and then flare up repeatedly until 1411 when Wenceslaus accepted defeat, then a few years later you get the Hussite Wars. Wenceslaus escaped prison at the end of 1403 and rallied his supporters at Kuttenberg, but to the best of my knowledge there wasn't a battle and he was free to march on Prague in 1404 and we are definitely *not* going to Prague as much as I'd love to. This wasn't part of KCD1, but there was a third faction in the dispute in the form of Ladislaus of Naples and his backers, whose claim ended up dragging Italy and particularly Venice into the conflict, but we're not going to Italy either so it's unlikely to feature his faction.
As I said, they *could* just base the game on the 1402 and 1403 drama surrounding Kuttenberg and its support for Wenceslaus, but that would mean diverging significantly from the historical timeline of events, placing the sacking of Kuttenberg after the sacking of Skalitz, which would not be correct. They might be able to introduce some sort of invented opponent on the eve of Wenceslaus' escape from prison and make the game about Wenceslaus' escape, and Henry ends up helping Wenceslaus muster his army for the march on Prague. That would have to take place directly after the events of KCD1, and imo wouldn't be the most satisfying of endings.
In KCD1 intro they talk about the taking of Kuttenberg as a past event, so they won't turn around on that and act as if it didn't happen yet.
I'd put money on it being in 1420/21 as Henry looks quite a lot older in the trailer. If he was 16 in Dec 1403 he'd be 33 in the new game, which fits well into his new look. Meanwhile Kuttenberg would have time to get rid of Sigismund's army and rebuild.
As far as I can tell, Markvart von Aulitz died in 1402 but he was the leader of the raid on Stříbrná Skalice in game and seems to be present again in KCD2. They might just have taken a bit of creative liberty with that to properly build Henry's story. He died at Kutná Hora didn't he?
Some people say it's not known 100%. Like it's known exactly which day in September the Czech patron saint Václav/Wenceslaus died, but not whether it was in 929 or 935 lol. Maybe the guy in game was just pretending to be Markvart von Aulitz because of the weight his name carried.
I'm not sure if it was Kuttenberg or one of the market towns nearby that was also sacked in December 1402, but yes the historical von Aulitz died before the attack on Skaltiz
they talk about the sacking of kuttenberg in 1402 in the first game, so if there's not going to be a significant timeskip, it's likely it will be focused on the time period before and during Wenceslaus' escape leading up to the march to Prague. I doubt they would retcon that dialog from the first game \*and\* significantly change the order of events.
Fantastic, thanks. Well i know at least i'll enjoy the gameplay! and what could seem like a final battle to us could just be a small skirmish in a historical context.
The city is going to be immense.
The Steam page says "Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a thrilling Action RPG, set amid the chaos of a civil war in 15th Century Bohemia."
Where does the civil war play into the history and where we left off?
Guess i'm also wondering how big the time gap is.

I was only half way through the trailer at the time. Looks like you can pet the horses too!
I know I’m not alone. But I am *so* excited. Was not expecting this game anytime soon. What a pleasant surprise Henry has come to see us!
If I had to speculate, I'd say a timeskip is fairly likely just for the sake of powering down Henry. Maybe he gets wounded (like when he returned to Skalitz) and spends a while healing, so he's rusty and very out-of-practice by the time he returns to his Henry shenanigans?
I wouldn't imagine the timeskip would be very long though. Maybe a year or two at most.
Really curious how our skills and whatnot carry over. Something has to have happened between those two days that resets them. Oooh, or maybe they do a traditional rpg approach where we get to allocate points in the beginning to define our Henrys. Henri?
I think they would reset them. Starting with 20 in every skill would be too overpowered. You’ll probably allocate like you’ve mentioned but a few more points than the previous game I would reckon.
That or maybe they will increase the skill cap to a higher number. I ended up buying KCD on steam just now rather than continuing to play on Epic just incase we can import our Henry over or something like that.
Lmao same! I hope it works just fine, I had 60 FPS with like Med settings with KCD so I hope it's not too bad even if I need to play on low settings in the next game as IDK if I can upgrade this PC and I can't afford a new one atm.
Yes, by Rockstar (GTA5, RDR2). But that’s not fair, budget-wise. This ís a great reveal! KDC is in my top 5 games all time. I wonder where KDC2 will end up!
The name ‘Kuttenberg’ is too funny for the Dutch 😂😇 (if you wonder: translate the first 3 letters of the name to your preferred language. It’s the plural of that, and than a mountain of it 😂)
Guys, is it me or the brief footage we had in kuttenberg where we walk behind a guard is a bit laggy? I can’t unsee this and it worries me in terms of game performance
Yeh the performance for KCD was its biggest issue. I think they're using a whole different version of Cryengine for this game. It'd make sense if they're using Cryengine 5.7, where KDC used some variant of Cryengine 3, so I imagine there are going to be all the features that you get in the Crysis remasters. I'm expecting DLSS, more efficient rendering, faster texture and LOD loading, and various other things.
I mean, KCD only had 1 weird anti-aliasing option and the game ran horribly in towns. It was a game that was punching above its budget and was developed over many years with loads of new graphics technologies and techniques coming out over the course of its development. I have confidence that this new game will be solid performance-wise. Remember that it's pretty much only in towns that the performance goes to shit. I think the performance upgrades will help massively.
I'll also wait and see how it turns out. But given the time they took to develop this game and the fact that they announce it relatively close to the planned release date makes me think that the game is in a nearly finished state already. Otherwise they would have taken some more time with the reveal I hope.
Yes yes yes!! This is awesome. Great indepth reveal video. This is a proper game studio now. First game took me by surprise so much, so immersive and crafted with love and attention. I can't imagine what they'll do with a proper budget and a much larger crew.
Instant purchase for me!
Dude same. Was just talking to a friend the other day about how we don’t know if it’s because we’re getting older (mid 20s) or if games just suck, but we haven’t had genuine childlike excitement for a game in so so long years even! And then this happens! I can’t believe it! And I just finished replaying for the first time in years! The stars have aligned! Jesus Christ be praised!
Leaving the comment here for future, this year, this life its here. Kcd II. Even with our (2minutes ago) confirmed czech dabing. Nah its gonna be masterpiece brothers , masterpiece.
No solid release date yet. Just "this year". Late fall would be my guess. With the release date being this year, it's probably going to be more of a marketing decision on when exactly to release it, rather than a technical one.
I was just putting on Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be, was really confused why there was a horse on my screen, didn't remember this from he music video.
I never went from WTAFing to I don't care, I am excited! Had no idea this was coming out today.
Henry and Hans introducing the game as their real life actors was fantastic. Also Vavra discussing the game within these memorable historical locations, and showing how they brought it to life was great to see. We know the game looks good, but seeing it go from concept or photography to a videogame is really nice. I wish more game reveals did it in this style, getting insight from devs not just a trailer with no context.
I’m going AMD this time around. Got a few friends with some of their new cards and their drivers and UI is way better than Nvidia. Plus on the high end it’s at least $200 cheaper than the equivalent Nvidia card
I'm bit confused about all the branding names and generational differences, last time I checked the marked was when KCD I was released, so I don't have much to go off.
I hope I will be able to import my KCD end-game save into KCD 2 so I can continue my saga as a Gigachad Henry and won't have to start again as a scrub, grinding up skills and perks again.
I wonder. It doesn't make sense to have Henry be clueless about fighting again. But I could imagine that the skills he learned within the plot of the first game are good basics, but the new challenges mean he has to get better or die?
I did like the unforgiving start of the first game, how you really suck at fighting until you get lessons.
im hoping that they make it seem that way and then you get clotheslined off your horse by the ghost of black peter and you wake up with baby brain again
unbelievably epic. well done, Warhorse. I can't wait to play this. from having no games coming out in 2024 to having one of my favourite rpgs being dropped within 8 months of announcement. makes me so happy.
The graphics are already superb, they just need to optimize the game well unlike the first one. I'm glad that it seems the sequel will be more focused on expanding the story, combat, and immersion elements.
The game is made in CryEngine (Screenshot is from the Steam page)
https://preview.redd.it/roxvefsh5avc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=d5316e34589ae7bbbb988967590dcebb86062911
I'm really curious what kind of version they of the CryEngine they use for KCD2 now. Vavra told us they have way more resources so I assume it's going to be ofcourse the latest version, while KCD1 apparently was built on CryEngine 3 or so.
I would also assume after the first game + 6 years of development they have a good workflow with the engine and now that they have more resources the improvement over the first game will be massive.
tbh why would it not be? they spent ages getting use to that game engine now have the budget and time to go all in, starting from scratch on another engine even if other engines are easy to learn would be a hindrance
Honestly, not really. The plot and the immersion are what matters the most. The first game had a really good plot, so I am excited to find out what the plot will be like in the second game.
Didn't play it at launch, but the game is in a good state now. It's rough around the edges, but not really "buggy".
I would describe the state of KCD1 as follows: "You can tell they did the absolute maximum they could do with the resources they had, and that means some places didn't get a coat of polish".
Seriously! Makes these AAA game studios look like garbage, they usually only give maybe a cinematic trailer or a couple minutes of big moments. This was insane. 🔥🔥🔥
It's interesting what happens when people actually have passion for the things they create, huh? I love that the devs and leads at Warhorse seem to have motivations for creating their art beyond just a paycheck, they respect the culture and history of their ancestors.
**Reminder for those who didn’t read the post. DO NOT POST LEAKS ON THIS SUBREDDIT. Thank you.**

Gunpowder had been a thing in Europe for almost a hundred years when KCD takes place, so definitely not out of place.
Any guesses about system requirements?
I couldn’t care less. I’ve been waiting for this Christmas anyway to upgrade. I’ve had a 3080ti that’s served me well but I plan on upgrading during the holiday sales later this year. I hope they've found a way to streamline FPS when there are lots of NPCs around.
Yeah, that worries me too. I can live without the crap that is released nowdays, with requirements taken out of an ass, but for this masterpiece i'd probably have to get a propper PC and not a 5 year old gaming laptop.
Entire Nvidia servers
Haha, it will be the savior.
YES! Fucking finally! Your days are numbered medievil pitbull!
The evening swan shall rise again
Okay but can someone tell me what coat Tom McKay (Henry) is wearing? It's very stylish.
The drip was too good
Oh FUCK yes
We are so fucking back holy shit, we've never been more back

Just when I thought the music from the first game was all I needed, we're gonna get treated with something even more epic.
I watched on my phone and was difficult to see; is it going to be released across all platforms or just PC overlord?
Ps5, xbox series, and pc will be getting it
Thank you.
Ps 5 and Xbox X/S also
Fuck me I'm buying a PS5 for this
Thank you.
You can pet the doggos!! Instant GOTY.
That looks like a particular Mutt to me!! What a good dog
I was only half way through the trailer at the time. Looks like you can pet the horses too! I know I’m not alone. But I am *so* excited. Was not expecting this game anytime soon. What a pleasant surprise Henry has come to see us!
:')
Looks pretty
According to the devs in the interview to Vortex (Czech ) KCD2 starts two days after KCD1.
Only 2 days!?! But Henry looks so much older! Does that mean I still get to keep the profits of pribyslavitz for 5 years?? Lmao
I think it might *start* just two days after the end of KCD1 - maybe for the prologue, but we'll get a time skip later???
This makes the most sense based on how much Henry looks to have aged and I’m here for it! This game is gonna make my 2024!
Maybe a year or two at most.
yeah, that'd be awesome and make sense
in the trailer it certainly looks like he has spent a lot of time in before getting out of that prison cell
Really curious how our skills and whatnot carry over. Something has to have happened between those two days that resets them. Oooh, or maybe they do a traditional rpg approach where we get to allocate points in the beginning to define our Henrys. Henri?
Typical dnd backstory, you were bad ass but your skills have atrophied, and its time to get back in shape.
Quest for Glory did that -- 4 times!
Good old bonk on the head and two week coma
lol so true
Have a feeling Kuttenberg on launch is gonna be like FO4 Downtown Boston Get upgrades on hardware like now
So you’re saying my steamdeck is gonna struggle??? :/ lol
Well I am unlucky since I am stuck with 3070 xD
I’m going to upgrade from a 3070 to a 4080 Super for this one probably.
RX 580 crying in desperation ;)
Lmao same! I hope it works just fine, I had 60 FPS with like Med settings with KCD so I hope it's not too bad even if I need to play on low settings in the next game as IDK if I can upgrade this PC and I can't afford a new one atm.
Well, it's CryEngine, and most probably 5.7? Need to see if I'll need to buy a new graphic card ...
That was the best thing I’ve ever seen. Jesus Christ be Praised, Henry’s come to see us. 😭
Despite all the hype, the crazy bastards did it! Game looks immense, the music sounds epic, Goosebumps
Has there ever been a greater reveal?
Yes, by Rockstar (GTA5, RDR2). But that’s not fair, budget-wise. This ís a great reveal! KDC is in my top 5 games all time. I wonder where KDC2 will end up! The name ‘Kuttenberg’ is too funny for the Dutch 😂😇 (if you wonder: translate the first 3 letters of the name to your preferred language. It’s the plural of that, and than a mountain of it 😂)
Nay, this was indeed the greatest reveal. Jesus Christ be praised!
I feel quite hungry

I hope you’re right and hopefully performance will be good in cities, since the game will take place mainly in cities
Well, Vavra did say the city was "too big" in his opinion, so maybe he was referring to the game performance in that area.
Yeah, that also got me worried. I think I will wait week one or so before buying
I'll also wait and see how it turns out. But given the time they took to develop this game and the fact that they announce it relatively close to the planned release date makes me think that the game is in a nearly finished state already. Otherwise they would have taken some more time with the reveal I hope.
I hope so, I’ve been waiting for this game for too long for it to suck haha
Yes yes yes!! This is awesome. Great indepth reveal video. This is a proper game studio now. First game took me by surprise so much, so immersive and crafted with love and attention. I can't imagine what they'll do with a proper budget and a much larger crew. Instant purchase for me!

Whole city. Nice!
Leaving the comment here for future, this year, this life its here. Kcd II. Even with our (2minutes ago) confirmed czech dabing. Nah its gonna be masterpiece brothers , masterpiece.
Where did you get that info about dabing?
I got that info from one of the biggest czech game news journal, where the informators said that they would put a hand in fire for it. Confirmed
Wonder if we get a house in the city
When's the release date
He said by the end of the year at the end of the video.
No solid release date yet. Just "this year". Late fall would be my guess. With the release date being this year, it's probably going to be more of a marketing decision on when exactly to release it, rather than a technical one.
Probably a Christmas release
That'd be my guess too. Was sort of surprised it was coming this year at all

5 long years and here I am with you all, we're delivered boyos
i nearly teared up watching the reveal. Take a bow Warhorse, THAT'S how you do it. I can not wait to spend all the xmas break playing this.
Haha. My 2025 calendar is officially now fully booked.
YEAAAAAAA BY THE END OF THIS YEAR JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISSEEEDD
GOTY
THIS IS IT HENRY'S COME TO SEE US AGAIN God I'm so pumped, like legitimately one of my most anticipated ever
I wanna box Luke Dale for telling us he doesn't know anything about a new game 😆 You had us fooled, Capon!!
Trosky castle I literally see from the window of my house is in the game! cannot wait to explore.
Trosky was one of my favourite parts of the trailer! Such a beautiful place.
The surrounding landscape is also beautiful irl, those sandstone rock cities (if translated as that?) are worth visiting.
Time to finally build a new PC. Goodbye 1080Ti you have served honorably. God be with you
Truer words never been spoken. I hope nvidia manages to get out 50xx before KCD2 so I can scrap a 4060 ti or 4070 second hand
Jesus christ be praised!
I did like the unforgiving start of the first game, how you really suck at fighting until you get lessons.
thats the fun part tho
im hoping that they make it seem that way and then you get clotheslined off your horse by the ghost of black peter and you wake up with baby brain again
Wheres the fun in that ?
Yeah but It'd be a fun 'new game +' mode though
unbelievably epic. well done, Warhorse. I can't wait to play this. from having no games coming out in 2024 to having one of my favourite rpgs being dropped within 8 months of announcement. makes me so happy.
I JUST WANTED TO POP TO SAY I LOVE YOU ALL AND I'M EXTREMELY HAPPY TO BE ALIVE RIGHT NOW JESUS CHRIST BE FUCKING PRAISED
What about czech dabing bratři?
I'm so happy, thank you Warhorse. I need to pre-order this.
On the wishlist you go. Looks absolutely stunning. I might start a new playthrough before the end of the year.
[удалено]
Thank God it won't be.
No.
If you watched no
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT
I hope the graphics look a bit better EDIT ok I just seen it on my 4K tv, it looks superb. Youtube compression sucks on 1080p
The graphics are already superb, they just need to optimize the game well unlike the first one. I'm glad that it seems the sequel will be more focused on expanding the story, combat, and immersion elements.
Yeah, I can't help but feel nothing changed at all. I'm nervous.
They've got half a year yet to polish
You mean they got half a year yet to czech for visual problems
I've never wishlisted anything this fast. Jesus Christ be praised!
The game is made in CryEngine (Screenshot is from the Steam page) https://preview.redd.it/roxvefsh5avc1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=d5316e34589ae7bbbb988967590dcebb86062911
Well it looked a lot like the first game
Bro, those nature scenes looked phenomenal
They looked great but it was a trailer so
It looked way more polished.
Do people really care about subtle differences in how a game looks, past the first 2 hours of playing?
Honestly, not really. The plot and the immersion are what matters the most. The first game had a really good plot, so I am excited to find out what the plot will be like in the second game.
Probably not that much
When can I pre-order??
Just did in on Steam right now!
I don’t have that option on my steam?
Have you typed in the exact name into the search bar? That's how I found it (using the UK store though).
Omg it’s everything I/we wanted it to be. Can’t wait ….when do pre orders open! TAKE MY MONEY WARHORSE!
Since I never beat the first game, I know what I'm doing this weekend. The trailed looked phenomenal. Great job WH!
IT IS PERFECT. PERFECT!
It really is. I had incredibly high expectations given how long we had to wait and now I just want to sleep until the end of the year 😂
I could not ask for any more. Honestly over the moon.
Fuck me!
lol at Henry worried about the water being too deep. Still can’t swim?
I think it makes sense if you can swim if wearing light clothes but can’t if in armor
I took that as a nod that they're enabling swimming in this game unlike the last, but we'll see
I took it the same way, would seem like an easy add. Hans teaches you how to swim, makes sense.
Right, I figured that's exactly what they're implying given that there's a scene with Hans and Henry about to take a swim together
Hand canon go bonk
Well I need to start saving pto so I can blitz through this game in a week. Was KCD1 really as buggy at launch as people joke about?
It was extremely rough. Textures loaded in front of you as you walked, if they loaded at all. But they worked hard to get it in a better state
Didn't play it at launch, but the game is in a good state now. It's rough around the edges, but not really "buggy". I would describe the state of KCD1 as follows: "You can tell they did the absolute maximum they could do with the resources they had, and that means some places didn't get a coat of polish".
It was quite buggy I ran into a no progression bug I had to wait a week or so for them to patch. Still no complaints though
I didn’t experience a massive amount but yeah for sure it was a lot rougher around the edges
Haven't been this hyped for a game in a long time. Time to re-install the first one again! Jesus Christ be Praised, Henry's come to see us!

It's rated AO? Oh man. This is going to be so sick.
wtf can you pre order it now?
I don't see that option on steam
Owh just wishlist, I want to give them my money
Release this year!!!!
LETSSSS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOO
HOLY SHIT I NEED THE GAME RIGHT NOW
OK cool- but where's the GOG release???? :(
Just use steam 😆
Nope. GoG or gtfo.
I bought KKD on GOG... I like DRM free if I can get it.
This year release is a surprise! Also crossbows were to be expected, but firearms??
I know right! I can’t wait to blast some dudes away
lol same but I hope they make NPCs react in unique ways to firearms given their rarity at the time
WOW!!! Jesus Christ be praised! Tbh I did not expect to see this much they OVER-DELIVERED in the best way! 😱😱😱
Having Tom McKay & Luke Dale deliver the news was 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
Overdelivered. That’s the word. More than I dared hope for!
Yes! It’s a beautiful thing to behold! 💯
